I bought the ps4 the first day it was available specifically for the show but I can't imaging the graphics upgrade to the ps5 being that significant.

I'll probably stay with the ps4. It would take an amazing new feature like maybe build your own ballpark to get me to buy the ps5. I've been spending more time lately on the ps3 with NCAA 14 and 2k8 NCAA hoops.

I'll probably stick with PS4 until at least 2022. I really only use my PS4 to play The Show, Hunter COTW, and watch streaming TV.

So, been away from the show for while...to confirm, 21 will be coming out on PS4?

Also, would we be able to carry over franchise from PS4 MLB20 to PS5 21? Or is that just dreaming?

I really can't wait to get the PS5 and almost ordered it yesterday since Walmart had them in stock but I decided to wait to buy it until MLB The Show 21 comes out for it.

Plus by waiting to March or maybe even to May hopefully by then a lot of the bugs and other issues like fan noise will be fixed.

Besides I want the very first game I ever play on the PS5 to be MLB The Show 21

It's going to be a long 3 to 5 month wait though especially since I sold both my PS4's back in September

Yeah, I'm with you here: waiting until 21 is released to pick up a PS5. Also, hoping some of the launch bugs, whether they're hardware or software, to be smoothed out. I've also heard about the PS5 having sourced two different fan manufacturers... one fan being much quieter than the other. It's kinda like playing the lottery for which fan you'll get.

PS5. I'm mostly hoping that the stadiums (especially the skylines that look like they're from PS2) are updated.

Yes, I'm really hoping they can make the stadiums look truly amazing on the PS5. It's nit-picky, but some of the terrain outside the stadiums are basically little more than polygonal blocks. Would be really awesome if they could improve the stadium periphery more.

I played a ton of MLB 20 on my PS4 Pro. But Ive been playing MLB 20 on the PS5 lately and wow! Finally being able to play this game on the sharper setting, which renders at 2160p (aka 4K), and with HDR On, while still hitting 60fps is so encouraging for what MLB 21 will bring on the PS5. It honestly feels like a whole new game again. The game is even smoother than when I was playing on performance mode on my PS4 Pro, plus all the graphical enhancements with the game at 4k resolution. It makes the game so much more immersive.

We have no confirmed release of '21 on any platform yet. It's certainly assumed that it will be on PS4 , and likely PS5 as well (even if that comes out later). They aren't likely to drop the PS4 support cold turkey in the first year of PS5 development.

XBOX, PC, Switch or whatever else that's been talked about and enabled by that agreement last year would require a change in the status quo, which is why I'm not assuming anything about any of those platforms until it's actually announced.

1) - Sony isn't having any trouble selling it's PS5 inventory so it doesn't need greater demand for a ps5 by not putting 21 on the PS4
and 2) - if they stopped suporting the PS4 before Show 23 (at least) they're throwing away Show sales they need (desperately IMO)

Show 14 was the first year for the PS4 and Show 16 was the last for the PS3. frankly I personally hope the Show warrants release up to 25 on the PS4 but I really don't expect it to go that long

Once they decide to abandon the PS4.....that will be my que to move onto the PS5.
