Also, if the next gen version is $10/£10 more, does that mean you can't get free upgrade from this gen to next gen, like most games?

Well there is a proposal from MLB to the union that they are considering. The season would start a month later near the end of April so if they do accept it that won’t be the case. In it is also a 154 game season, expanded playoffs, universal DH.

I really hope the universal DH goes away. Cheapens the sport and takes away a lot of strategy imo. Also the 3 batter minimum. Get rid of them.

lol It is not going away. Everyone wants it. You may not get it this year because the MLB is trying to get the players to concede to something to add the DH when the player know the MLB wants the DH as bad as they do. It will DEF be bargained into the next agreement.

It’s never going away. It’s a 100% lock that it will be added full time in the new CBA in 2022.

Not crazy about that at all tbh, charging extra for a standard feature, but I guess we'll have to see what else it entails (probably a hat and some DD packs, but you never know)

Since they specifically mention future club decisions I wonder if they are offering expanded minor league teams and/or rookie ball.

Whelp, everyone that will be angry with a buggy game should stay far away at launch. Adding 3 platforms in a covid year is not going to end in a polished product.

Personally I don't mind the April 20 release. I skipped the last gen but was able to get a PS5 in early January and snagged The Show 20 for $10 while it was on sale, so getting an extra month to play that game will definitely make that worth while!

The feature list is definitely intriguing. Implementing the haptic feedback features Dual Sense controller is definitely something I'm looking forward to. I've enjoyed how Madden and Astro's World implemented the controller (obviously Astro's World was designed to show off those features). PS Store preorder page lists a "Revamped Franchise and MTO modes"....I have my doubts as to how "revamped" franchise mode will actually be but at least they are paying attention to Franchise. First feature premiere can't come soon enough!
