Having a customization suite is really critical for those of us who play classic roster baseball.

On 20 we look past the 3 batter rule....but that is all we can really tolerate. If we do not have real extra innings during the regular season.....that will be incredibly lame playing rosters from the past.

Again full customization to do realignment, reduce the number of teams, customize divisions (think AL East and AL West...no wild cards old school baseball).

    Doubt it ever happens.

Like I stated earlier....typically takes several cycles to really feel next gen. The time crunch of a yearly release is very difficult especially for a smaller studio like SDS. Plus add in the pandemic.

      Temper your expectations.

If they are exceeded that is a bonus.

        Yep couldn't agree more!

sadly though I think the DH rule will be coming for next year 100% sure of it and I reckon they might even get it in last minute for this year.. they did last year as well. I can live with the DH rule but the expanded playoffs and extra innings runner on base rule can go to hell! they clearly want that rule regardless of Covid.

I hope they make online leagues deeper. It was too bare bones last year.

I understand the time-crunch of an annual release, however, I disagree that it should take several cycles to really feel next-gen; when it comes to the very first release on next-gen, yes, one can argue it takes time to understand the new hardware...but this is what they do...they are supposed to be the best-of-the-best...they have most likely had their hands working on this since early 2020 or even sooner...(especially coming from a previously Sony product), so I don't buy the "temper expectations" card...

...take a look at Madden VS NBA2K...

...one hit the mark as far as "next-gen" and the other did not...

Let's hope they deliver...I'll be buying regardless, because the studio always provides an excellent experience and I'm forever a fan.

I think that if the Ps5/X version is $10 more and not a free upgrade the leap from the 4 will be noticeable and significant. Just me?

The big question for me is will sounds of the show work on the xbox one X? If so, I'll get it for the next gen. If not? I'd rather then just get it on the PS4.

No, all games on the new consoles are $10 more.

I must say I’m very much intrigued by the haptic feedback integration from the Dualsense in The Show.

All the consoles starting with the PS4 era are basically the same architecture - low wattage laptop-like (but powerful) PCs. The game doesn't need to be reworked from the ground up for any of these consoles. They're basically all the same at this point.

Having both the PS5 and Series X, I constantly struggle to decide which controller I like more. The haptic stuff in the Dual Sense is crazy when implemented. I got the platinum for Astro's Playroom because the game is so fun, but also the way the Dual Sense works in that game is just amazing.

On the other hand, I just love the way the Series controller feels in your hands. It feels like a natural fit. I also like that the sticks aren't right next to each other like the Dual Sense.

But again, the haptic stuff is so cool lol. So I guess when it comes to games like these, when choosing a platform the controller will play a big part. But at the same time, I love both so how do I choose lol.
