I'd like to suggest getting off "to pre-order or not to pre-order" topic and yes I was wrong yesterday for briefly suggesting people should not pre-order at this time. I am a Libertarian "live and let live" sort of person and what I did yesterday without much thought on my part was not very Libertarian. With that said, some of us have valid concerns about what we have been told to date about the 2021 iteration of the game and we do want to know more details before we commit to buying it. Yes MLB The Show is a great game, but SDS should not be immune from criticism when they do wrong.

Oh and I was playing a RTTS game yesterday with one of my pitchers and was quickly reminded at how useless bunting is in MLBTS 20 when I was faced with a sacrifice bunting scenario when my pitcher came to bat. I guess I forgot as it had been a couple of months since I last played with one of my pitchers. I got to tell you, buying MLBTS 21 might be worth it if SDS were to actually pay one ounce of attention to the offline users and fix bunting in their game. I may have been wrong for suggesting pre-ordering at this time may not be the thing to do, but I am not wrong in telling offline users, don't bother trying to bunt because bunting is a waste of time in MLBTS 20.

I've found the best way for me personally is to get whatever bills I'm expecting paid and out of the way ASAP. I'd also like to believe if someone is hard up for $10 in February, they'd spendthe rest of their money wiser come April, than on a video game no matter even if it's the best video game in the history of forever. but realistically, I know that isn't true.

I've also been playing the Show long enough to know that even if at the most it's a roster update (and that's never been the case for me, I've always enjoyed the yearly release, whatever else new was added), I know I'm getting my money's worth.

on the other foot, there have been other games that got great reviews but after I bought and started playing, I'd be done with it after a month because it just didn't do it for me. different strokes and all that jazz, makes the world go round lol

People say “stop complaining about what others do doesn’t effect you” the fact that sports game make millions off DD and ultimate team modes is why it effects us because people buy it or ore order in months in advance for the DD extra and
“Cards” so they won’t work on franchise ect

So enough of the “who cares what others do it doesn’t effect you nonsense” that’s like saying anti maskers don’t effect you if you wear a mask who cares what’s others do
It won’t effect you.

I mean are you trying to imply that franchise has received the same attention as Diamond Dynasty?

I am not pounding sand about franchise mode. I happen to think it is very good for “me”.

But let’s not sit here and imply the same amount of resources have gone into franchise mode.

Lets not insult our intelligence on this particular subject.

They added small things for a few years to franchise mode:

Radio Show
Player Morale
Player quirks
Phases
3 presentation themes (then down to two in MLB 20)
Quality of life improvements to Sounds of the Show

But the amount of attention Diamond Dynasty has gotten over the same cycle is two fold.

And I expected that. It is a revenue producer.

So yeah the resources have overwhelmingly been allocated to online (server overhaul) and Diamond Dynasty vs Franchise mode.

Yeah basically one guy. Which hey....if that is all they can do it is what it is.

I think they have added (slowly) almost every year.

For 20 they greatly enhanced the AI in fantasy drafts. A very underrated improvement for those who like to do fantasy draft franchises (yours truly).

Let’s hope they do make a leap with even more features for franchise mode on the PS5.

If you are the only one buying a cheeseburger at a shop and everyone is buying a beef burger then they met stop selling cheeseburgers so me saying “who cares what your eating I’ll enjoy what I’m eating” doesn’t work is that a better comparison?

I believe the "franchise" dev also works on other areas. They usually are across many different areas.

The problem usually is the programmers. They are limited. The year they did y2y saves it took a programmer the entire year to make it work, hence why there were no other changes to franchise that year.
