my first hunch is this is next gen. and if true I have to reassess whether to wait till spring/summer 2022 to get a ps5.

Hopefully SDS hey don't go all EA evil empire.

FIFA career mode players had been asking for a stadium creator for years. They finally added it for FIFA 20 buuuuuuut added it only for their ultimate team mode. Their reason being license issues despite 80% of the teams in the game not having real stadiums.

SDS seem a bit smarter than that though. So hopefully this is a feature across the all modes if it is indeed in the final product.

There would be MASSIVE competitive balance issues (the type that aren't present for a regulation soccer pitch) if it's introduced into DD so I'd be pretty surprised if it shows up there at least in year 1. That's one thing on my mind regarding this leak, and the other is whether it will be a next-gen only feature. I know cross-save exists so that would have to be taken into account if it's a next-gen only thing.

If the Stadium Creator is detailed and customizable enough for people to really be able to go crazy creating unrealistic weird stadiums I would assume SDS would just put in restrictions for custom stadiums for online play. They could put caps on how much you can edit stadium dimensions, wall height, etc, to keep people from doing anything too crazy in DD.

I’m sure the devs realize that would be an issue and I don’t see why it would take an extra cycle to put something in place to prevent it. Seems like it would be a missed opportunity to leave it out of DD, I’m sure a lot of DD players would be upset.

I'd be surprised if created stadiums would be usable online unless they are made from customizable templates. If you are able to make super unique stadiums, it would take a lot of time for the other player to download prior to an online game. It wouldn't surprise me if you are given a choice of a few templates, and you can choose wall color, premade backdrop options, and where to place logos.

I'd be surprised if created stadiums would be usable online unless they are made from customizable templates. If you are able to make super unique stadiums, it would take a lot of time for the other player to download prior to an online game. It wouldn't surprise me if you are given a choice of a few templates, and you can choose wall color, premade backdrop options, and where to place logos.

I see it as a lego blocks construction kit with some variable parameters like walls distance and height. Everybody’s having the same building blocks on their own console, the information exchanged would be minimized enough to be manageable for online or through a vault.

We’ll see but devil’s in the details ;-)

Create A Stadiums usage will be similar to Create A Team/Uniform in MLB 20. No online whatsoever, entirely offline.

Do we still get to play the same interleague schedule every year in our created stadium? Will the CPU still use a fifth starter in the playoffs in our new stadium?

Hopefully it's in one day, but I'm going to be skeptical about this 'leak' for now, and my skepticism comes down to grammar.

First, I feel like they would just use the term 'Stadium Creator' and not refer to it as a mode. Next, ballpark is one word, not two. A small difference in everyday life, but I think a proofreader would catch that when putting info in promotional work. Finally, it's just one long run-on sentence. Someone would've caught that and added a comma, semicolon, or (most likely as the a stadium creator and crossplay are different topics) broken it up into separate sentences.

Maybe I'm wrong though. It'd be cool if I was.

Keep in mind that you're talking about the same people that misspelled Cincinnati in the Reds stadium at release and had to fix it in a patch.

This leak was posted on the official SDS Youtube page, then removed. Hard to imagine someone was willing to lose their job to intentionally post fake info on the official page.
