Seeing as Steve from SDS liked your post so I would say that's promising!

Something I want to do now is make a homerun derby stadium with things to hit like in Triple Play Baseball 2003. Miss that living room.

SOOOOO many memories hitting HRs off the stereo and wall clock.

Don't forget the TV and something about Santa in the fireplace

Stadiums all have that "object" or "area" that you want to try and hit or reach, and I think it would be fantastic to make stadiums work in that same way, especially if everything has collision detection (including and especially buildings). Then you can challenge people on OS to try and do those same kinds of things in your stadium as well. It would definitely be fun.

Like I did once hit the right field lights at Minute Maid Park in MLB The Show... 17, I want to say? I don't have video of it and I've never been able to replicate it, but I can say that I did it, and that's cool enough to me. I like spending time doing that. I also liked the year that The Show had trophies with HRD, but it seems that has since fallen out of favor.

Makes we wanna start up an emulator and play that again. (Think I will actually).

I definitely will stick a few fun little things around the stadium to aim for when going deep. I've already hit the million dollar home run can at Angels Stadium a couple times over the years. Maybe I'll stick that somewhere. I'm gonna have so much fun building stadiums! And I hope they've retained at least their lines from their normal stadiums. And some generic lines (off the building, scoreboard, over the roof, etc).

Oh yeah I definitely remember 17 or 18 having really messed up home run distances. Think I hit 700 or 800 in Oakland (with 20 mph winds blowing out of course) and I couldn't believe how far it went. I'm sure I have the clip saved somewhere.

And I too would love to see more home run related trophies return, but I can see why they might not have them in. Could take some time to hit the home run can in Angels Stadium for instance if they made that a trophy. Maybe something like a little one time reward like a pack or equipment or something would be cool.

That could be really fun. Depending on if there is that collision detecting but also if there is commentary attached to certain pieces. How awesome would it be to put a UFO right behind the right field wall and hear Matty V say something “he launched one into the atmosphere and it clanked off that UFO.

OS could run a thread where we create a stadium with unique items and challenge the community to hit a ball off them

Yeah this is kind of what I figured. They've had one guy working on this mode the past few years right? For me, I feel like it would be pretty difficult to get the walls and roof to work well and not look super wonky. So I kind of expected that.

Little sad we can't edit MLB stadiums but its to be expected I suppose. The minor league stadiums not being editable kinda stinks but I'm sure we can build them with the pieces and then go from there if need be.

The only thing I'm still wondering is if we can change the seat color and have an all dirt infield. I figure we can change the seat color (would be weird if we couldn't), the all dirt infield is hard to say. If not this year then hopefully next year, even if it's only in appearance.

Here is my take on stadium creator.

when it comes to requesting stadium creator there are 2 groups. group one wants to recreate previous ballparks that are no longer in operation the other group wants to create their own ballpark for their team.

I am of the the first group but here are my concerns.

1. Batter Eye requirement - from their video it sounds like the that batters eye will have to be one of the pre created batters eye that the SDS has created. correct me if I am wrong

assuming I heard it right - that means recreating any old school ballpark will be impossible other than a resemblance not fully accurate.

2. Not sure if pure Astroturf is an option as a playing surface I'm not talking about the current modern synthetic playing surface like TB, and TOR have.

3. Domes - they could have easily fixed this by adding 3 classic stadiums that SDS could have created themselves - Kingdome, Astrodome and Olympic Stadium for us who wanted this feature to recreate old ballparks then not having a dome option would not have mattered.

4. I hope they have old school light fixtures to make it possible to recreate Tiger Stadium and Old Comisky Park

My final thoughts

I believe until proven wrong that it is MLB that calls the shots when it comes to classic stadiums , old school uniforms, and DD players being added. I also think they do not allow SDS to even have an opportunity to explain to the community that their hands are tied and have a gag order in place why they cannot add this or that.

With the exception of a couple ******* players that will never allow their rights to ever be used because they have mental health issues like Randy Johnson ( which I know a lot about him personally after living next door to his sister in law for 5 years) and Barry Bonds, well he is just a dick on and off the field in and out of baseball.
