I have a question and I don’t mean to sound like a jerk, but what is the big deal about Nike Catcher gear? Like, they added a swoosh and now that is worth celebrating?

as close to looking as real as it is is why it is a big deal. It just adds to it looking more real

it's the little things. it's just aesthetics but every little thing adds up to a huge immersion factor

Fielding is the biggest thing I noticed in the tech test. The animations make everything just feel more fluid. This video really made me even more excited about how things are going to feel when we get the final version in our hands. And maybe it's just me, but the gameplay looks a tad bit faster which is definitely a welcomed thing for me. Honestly love the tweaks and little things they are doing to the game to make it feel smoother

Don't post much, but I can DEFINIETLY see how this game will play 100% better then 2020 from a defensive standpoint. I can't wait!

I think one of the biggest improvements they could make to fielding would be refining the challenge system. As it currently stands it's completely pointless in the game. Either take it out until it's properly implemented or...

I don’t know how anyone could be remotely disappointed in this video. Fielding has plagued this series for quite awhile now, if you’ve played it enough, you know exactly the nightmares you’ve had that cost you games.

This is looking fantastic as far as on field gameplay goes. Please please please shock us with franchise updates.

Does it bother anyone else how players catch the ball on diving plays in the outfield?? Look at the screenshot of Sizemore in the OP... That isnt how you catch the ball when you dive... Thats how you break your wrist.

Yeah that's one thing about the game that has always bugged me. You hardly ever see fielders dive for a ball like that.

OF play is definitely improved.

New branch animations for fielding balls off the wall is great, very needed.

Indicators are interesting. I'm glad they're trying to teach casual games how to play baseball. Love it!

I'd love to see new animations for 1B catches. Most throws are center cut, not where the 1B is weirdly reaching.

I really hope catcher pop time is an attribute and not an under the hood stat.

I really like what they did with fielding this year. Just one thing I think needs improvement and not sure they addressed it.

Bloopers between infield & outfield are at the highest difficulty level. I like the fact they’ve added new catch animations ( like the one in my screenshot) but only a few top players ( mostly SS like Tatis) can achieve that. Other players really struggle making those catches.

In MLB20, it’s pretty easy to catch bloopers with your 1B deep in foul ball area or even in play along the line.

As I said, I appreciate they improved and added animations for those spectacular catches but don’t like their justification. They said many bloopers resulted in hits because they had no animation to trigger to make the catch. But in real life, this is a twilight zone where even Tatis can’t make it all the time. Just hope only highest rating fielders will branch on those animations.

See it as a constructive comment to something to look at for next year.
