and something Blzer posted earlier reminded me to see how morale is working now,
and how that relates to Bryce Harper being unhappy with the contract he signed in 2019

I'll be making my own fictional roster base, and just playing on MLB 21 until they finally upgrade Franchise in the future. Think this is the last The Show game I buy until then.

Re: What are your plans for 21?

Been doing franchises with the White Sox, Brewers, Rockies, and Rays for years. I’ll definitely start one with the Sox and Crew, and most likely the Rays as well. Nolan Arenado is my favorite baseball player, so it won’t be as much fun for me to use the Rox. I do love Colorado though and Coors is great, plus I’m assuming the Rox will be pretty bad in this game, so maybe I’ll still start one with them for the challenge.

I’ve never been a DD guy other than having fun collecting cards. But I finally tried Showdown last year and had a blast, so maybe this will finally be the year I give DD an honest try. I did try MyTeam in 2K for the first time this year, and I’ve become quite a fan of that mode and play it all the time.

          To win every game!

I’ll prob start MTO or regular franchise with Mets since my carry over that started in 14 has no current Mets on it.

I had the most fun with MLB 20 when I played MTO and set up random tournaments of my own, so think I'll do the same with 21. It's a good way for me to experience playing with teams I wouldn't normally choose to use in a Franchise setting.

Re: What are your plans for 21?

Honestly, if there was a way for me to get my hands on a PS5, I'd be all over 21 on release day...but there isn't, and I don't see them showing up in my area any time in the near future. With that being said, and the lack of franchise mode updates, there's no reason for me to go and spend $90. The main thing I want 21 for is the stadium creator, so that the rebrand/relocate feature actually makes some degree of sense. With the feature not coming to current gen systems, I'll hold off for now.

So, my plans for 21 are to continue to play 20. I found a great up to date roster, with accurate-ish service times (even though there's no 2020 stats), and I've started a Jays franchise that I'm really into. I've typically struggled to get engaged with the Jays, since they're my favorite team and I don't like find it hard to trade prospects, but this is actually a solid challenge. Close to contender status, but a rotation with a bunch of holes in it, and a strong division (Minus Baltimore). 40 games in, I'm 0.5 back of the second wildcard, and 2.5 back of the Yankees, with Tampa sandwiched in between. Loads of fun.

Man. This is fantastic news in several ways.
Always love seeing stadiums move closer to a true to life representation, and also love knowing that SCEA continues to lurk these forums and even reaches out directly from time to time.

Gives me added hope that the Kauffman Stadium updates I’ve been posting in the accuracy thread may make it in this year. [emoji1317]

Re: What are your plans for 21?

Diving into DD on day 1. Enjoy the offline 'grind' of playing through all the missions and stuff - I never touch online in any game.

Definitely continuing my franchise on MLBTS20. I just hit year 3 (playing every game) and I have no inclination to start over.

Undecided if I will do much with franchise mode on 21 though....using current year rosters tends to bore me and I am pessimistic that we'll have any means of importing rosters from 20.

Awesome. As I mentioned, the Crew are one of the teams I always use in the Show. I live in NE Illinois, and it's really easy for me to get to Milwaukee. My wife and I go to Brewers games often, can't wait to get back this year once we're both vaccinated. But I can't lie, using the Brewers in '20 was really annoying with that huge dirt circle around home plate. It's something so small, but it just killed the immersion for me.

Re: What are your plans for 21?

I am fortunate in that I have a PS5 and have the JR preorder edition that was gifted to me.

I am going to spend the first weekend fixing the default roster and make it franchise and RTTS ready. Since I have all the top 15 prospect potentials for each team done already and written down, it will just be a quick edit for those then I will address potentials for the MLB players, other minor leaguers, and fake A ball players. Note here, I could care less about full 90 man accuracy if the roster sims poorly.

In RTTS, I have played a right handed hitting 2B or SS in each of the last 3 games but never made it to free agency. I am thinking of going with a switch hitting left handed throwing 1B or corner OF with the goal of reaching free agency. I am leaning toward the 1B and staying in the infield.

In franchise, I will be restarting my future Indians franchise that has been retired at the end of 2027 in MLB 20. The goal is to build a team with my blueprint then play them in future years.

Second, I will be doing a quick manage Rockies franchise with the goal of rebuilding them long term.

In both franchises, I will be reassigning a few stadiums, likely just using some of the premade generic ones. I will be replacing TB, OAK, and maybe a few others.

I plan on starting all 3 of these at the same time then never looking at the rosters again. This will be my last iteration of the show unless y2y returns and we can carry out MLB21 franchise into MLB22. And if it does have y2y I would just continue what I started in 21.

Re: What are your plans for 21?

My initial plan was to finally use Y2Y saves for the first time ever, but since they weren't included this year I was on the fence. After the franchise blog I didn't plan on buying the game until it was on a good sale, but since it is coming to GamePass, I'll be waiting on the Cloud feature to release soon so I can play thr next-gen version on PC.

I'm hoping that the latency isn't noticeable and it is easily playable. I plan to start a franchise with the Braves and try and finally get them over the hump. I'll also play around in the editor and see how complex the stadiums can get. It would be nice to be able to make some quality classic stadiums to go with the classic rosters that will be made, but I'm still split on how good I think the stadiums will look compared to the MLB ones in game already.
