O8 through 20 for me....I can’t carry over any of my franchise games, then for franchise mode did not excite me this year..they are building to it but not enough to buy it on opening day...

I see it being a sad time for us hard core franchise guys cause they continue to build thier money maker which is DD and because I believe they way everyone play the game now MTO is going to be their new franchise build...

I am excited that they threw Stadium creator into the game..that will be the first step for classic roster, now what they need to do is league creator..for the number of teams, etc...

I hope them all the luck in the world and DO NOT TURN INTO Ea sports...but I’ll wait until next year...SDS I hope you guys read this stuff, I know that is Franchise players are old School, all I ask is you don’t forget about us....

Same...super-duper disappointed - and I have BOTH next-gen systems. Hoping they take this feedback and improve for '22.

I honestly dont think its an improvement issue. Im sure the game plays great. They just show little to no effort to a mode that alot of us play. Franchise can use some TLC and its been like that for years. Hopefully they can hire a more intuitive team to work on franchise mode with all that money they get from diamond dynasty

I’m basically involuntarily skipping it. No PC release, can’t get a PS5 anywhere, no interest in playing it on my old, original PS4 in low res/low frame rate. Will play SMB this year and hope something changes for 22.

Same here, 07-20. Still love my franchise I started in 14. I love that only Rizzo and Baez remain as real life Cubs on my roster, and Baez is a cap. If Y2Y was still in it would have been a 1st day purchase. Nothing against 21 I'm sure it's a great game but for me personally I wouldn't upgrade even if it was free.

So I have been getting the show on release day since 2006. This year is the first year that I am going to probably skip. Mostly being a combination of Y2Y save not being in the game and also the neglect to franchise mode.

I was just wondering how many people out there, who would normally get this game day 1, decided to put it off. At least for the time being.

I don’t know what you guys are talking about. This years game is a blast and I’m enjoying the heck out of it. Have bought every year since ‘07. I’m a franchise-only player and I’m digging the changes they’ve made. Is it perfect or a huge step forward? No—but it’s pretty darn good. Anyway, while you all are complaining, I’m off to start my Padres-Dodgers series!

My streak ended two years ago 09-18, this year they are getting a pass and will get their money. But for some to say that people are whiners on here for skipping 21, is ridiculous.. there's guys on this thread that are skipping this year, who have supported, defended and backed this game for years. A lot of people here on OS helped shaped this game over the years with their input, now the OS crowd is seemingly getting left behind. No Y2y saves, No sounds of the show on next gen, adjusting sliders cancels out XP??!!, those are huge features to people here.

I made the decision to end my streak of 08-20 last year. SDS' neglect of singleplayer overall has killed my trust in them.

And here's the thing: I would LOVE to enjoy Diamond Dynasty. But while they do a great job of providing plenty of cards, the selection of things I can do with those cards in singleplayer is so pathetic that it's not worth it.

I got into DD starting in MLB 17. Prior to that, I was mainly a Road To The Show player. I was intrigued by the completely different manner in which you build a team in DD, since I was never a fan of the dry managerial work of franchise modes. Plus the fact that live content provided an engagement with MLB's past and present made it very entertaining to me.

But the singleplayer-capable stat missions we had in MLB 17 and 18 turned out to just be spackle. Those tasks were indeed challenging and interesting, but they covered up the fact that the only singleplayer nine-inning baseball games you could do them in (Play vs. CPU) were meaningless in and of themselves. The only meaningful baseball games singleplayer DD had were found in Conquest, which is three-inning games only and is nothing but road games (unless your home stronghold is attacked, which never happens if the mode is played well enough). As far as I've heard about MLB 21, that hasn't changed.

Meaningful nine-inning baseball games is one of the most basic, most essential features I expect out of a baseball video game and I'm not giving an exemption to singleplayer DD. Where's the season mode? Or a playoff bracket mode?

You want the only way of earning team affinity by actually playing baseball with my card collection to be an innings grind, then okay, but that's a background task. I need more immediate objectives to work on while those innings accrue in the background. But the only thing we got was the three-inning games of Conquest. Hey SDS, what the hell do you expect me to do with these cards?

Oh, they do have the occasional Moment here and there that uses your DD team, but those don't count for DD missions. "Because Moments is not Diamond Dynasty" was the reason given in an earlier iteration of the forums on TheShowNation, but that's not a reason why they shouldn't count. Everything else that doesn't count (Play vs. Friends, Extra Innings, etc) doesn't count due to exploitability, which is something that Moments are designed to prevent.

Meanwhile, they kept adding things in singleplayer that either were under the umbrella of DD (Showdown) or had ties to DD (March To October) but didn't provide that basic, essential feature - meaningful nine-inning baseball games with my DD team - that I expect. It got so frustrating that I've given up on SDS.

MLB The Show was the only reason I had a console in the first place and while it was worth it back when my interests and SDS' priorities were much more aligned, that's not the case anymore. I got rid of my PS4 months ago and have gone back to PC-only.
