It's not been publically released on PC yet. Who knows how The Show will play on it. Some games had virtually no input lag, others did in the testing period.

It will also vary depending on your internet, obviously. I've got hardwired fiber with 1 gig download speeds and will be close to a number of servers, so when it's public I may experience virtually no input lag while other people may experience some.

We should see soon since it is supposed to be released before the spring ends and that's not too far away.

      The streak is officially over.

I’ve preached about the decline of sports games for a decade now in regards to franchise mode. Most seem to turn a deaf ear on it but we’re finally seeing where it has taken us. And what sucks the most is that it’s not just sports games it’s role-playing games as well. Instead of interesting characters and stories, now we see games that are plagued with micro transactions.

I came close to not buying MLB 21, but my streak is still going as I ended up buying it. I’m having difficulty this year getting into the game and part of me has thought about just going back to MLB 20.

I have hopelessly thought maybe SDS will invest time into franchise mode but it’s just never going to happen. The studio quite literally has one employee that works on that mode. That speaks volumes as to the amount of time, energy and money they want to put into it.

Again, the same thing can be said with action/adventure, and role playing games. I’ve said this until I’m blue in the face for years and years. Grand Theft Auto is the ultimate example. GTA V had one of the most amazing and compelling stories, great characters, etc. in its single player campaign. They had begun and invested millions of dollars into some single player DLC for that game when GTA Online really took off. Now that mode generates hundreds of millions every year for a game that released in what, 2013? It’s unprecedented. And Rcokstar just straight up dropped their single player DLC. Canned it. What’s going to happen now (wait and see) is that when GT VI releases it will have a much less involved single player story, maybe 10-20 hours and the focus will be almost solely on the online component. Honestly, I wouldn’t be surprised if they just had online only with no single player story.

The one thing I like more than sports games are big, open-world, single player, story driven games, and those are dying off as well because everyone wants to be the next GTA Online.

Re: The streak is officially over.

I guess it was a really bad sign when they removed Season Mode in 18. I mean, a lot of developers can’t resist the money they can take in from online components that they rely on gamers getting addicted to. So in turn they give less time and attention to single player modes.

        It’s not surprising sadly. 😔

Totally agree Gagnon - this isn't just sports games. Look at all the loot box mania happening across AAA games. Most notably perhaps is Star Wars Battlefront II. That game was insulting to fans and flat-out manipulative.

(I used flat-out just for you, Heidi.)

Avengers had the same issue last year. Pure manipulation. I hope this changes and us that speak out cannot be censored or silenced for change to happen.

This is a great game..it has been for many years, including the 20 version... but it also been the same game for many many years. Specially Franchise Mode which is the mode that I play. For that reason (based on the 21 impression forum) I will not buy this year and wait for 22 for PS5 and hopefully we can get a better version of franchise.

Just going to keep playing 20 until 22.

Been playing since 09, it really stinks with the Y2Y option being removed/how much micro transactions have an impact on a game, but then again it's 2021.

I guess the days of beating so many years of franchise/unlocking cheats/legends without dropping $ is over.

I'm sitting here with MLB21 in my cart reading all these reviews and I don't think I'll bite this year. Micro transactions are destroying the games I've loved. I don't blame the companies they make a lot of money, Clash of Clans, a mobile phone game was pulling in over a million dollars a day in micro transactions. OOTP even has Perfect Team now and being they were bought out how much longer will they be around? Do I go back to Strat? All I have is FM. I miss baseball.

I should read reviews before I bought this game.

09, 14, 15, 16, 17, and 18. I'm passing. But then again I haven't purchased since '18. Stadium creator looks great, but beyond that I don't feel like I'm missing much that a three year old game didn't provide. The game is just stale to me. When they create new player models without llama necks, new animations like realistic swing follow-throughs that actually reflect momentum, get rid of the lazy outstretched arm catch animation of outfielders, the same old post-strikeout animations, and sure, provide me with same value new xbox players get (the whole situation feels like how apartment complexes give new tenants great move-in rates, but the tenants that have lived there 5-10 years pay the highest rents, lol) ... then I'll be back.

I was looking at my progress from 20 earlier today and I thought to myself no way im giving this up for 21. Not enough there for me to make the jump. Nothing good for offline players

My streak was alot shorter (14).. but its over for me until the game is on PC, or until there is a roster editor.

I downloaded it since I got Game Pass anyway, but I won't be touching it until they fix RTTS.
