I thought in previous years, if we had rosters down to 26 man and skipped ST everything stuck... Is that not the case anymore?

No, that was one of the major issues that SDS fixed last year. Now teams properly auto-populate the 40-man rosters and re-generate rosters/lineups at the start of the franchise.

Have you noticed "prorated" contracts in franchise mode during trades?

I recently traded Andrew Miller ($12M) to the Indians for a generic prospect ($70k) and it increased my budget by only $7M and lowered the Indians by the same amount.

Trade occurred on June 26th or thereabouts.

I don't recall this ever being in the game, but maybe so and I never paid attention until now???

Just curious.

If/when I make additional trades in July, I'll try to capture a screenshot.

I have not noticed. I will actually try a test today. That is cool if in.

Hmmm, that would really help with moving bigger contracts in trades. Good for rentals, but what happens if you take on a big deal with term (with budgets on)?

This has actually been in the game for a while (since they made that change to weekly budgets). It would only affect your weekly budget from the time you made the trade.

Anyone else having trouble with Ohtani? So I put him in the lineup as the 2 hole hitter but when I sim Angels games, he’s hitting cleanup.

I have everything set to manual for the CPU.

That has been this way for as long as I can remember. When you sim games the cpu roster logic dictates the lineup.

Using my Yankees as an example, I have DJ as leadoff, when I sim he is batting in the 3 hole.

On another note has anyone seen a reduction in injuries this year both played and simmed?

I have have jacked the sim slider to 10 and have yet to see an injury playing that has stayed. I have twice dove and been told my player has an injury, but after the game there is no injury.

Wow I lost everything I typed but basically I have had success doing a fantasy draft then trading players to their real teams as this creates an environment where 40 man rosters have good prospects on them and the computer doesnt make too outrageous of trades for my taste...


I haven't really gotten into an MLB show in 6 years (as you can see by my older posts) but I used to upload rosters to servers and chat with you guys a bunch in 2015. Basically I take Ridin's latest volume and edit the players to my liking and to a point where the correct players are in the MLB when you play through a franchise (so that you dont have to use 30 team control). I have effectively duplicated that with my current franchise but mostly by trading players to their correct teams and editing as a go -which admittedly takes a long time.

If there is demand for it I wouldnt mind terribly downloaded V2 and touching it up a lil bit like I used to. You can see my older posts for my way of going about that but basically I do 2 things in addition to trying to create the most realistic/fairly rated rosters.

1. I try to edit current mlb players to a rating that allows them to actually be on a computer controlled roster. (Rafael Dolis is comically a 61 overall in this game but is part of the closer committee in Toronto. If you dont give him a pump to like 72 he will be stuck in AA). I try to give the players proper ratings but will give slight boosts or reductions if it gets the correct player in the MLB instead of AAA.
2. Add the bigger prospects to 40 man roster. If you dont have the top prospects on the 40 man you most likely will not see them in the MLB. I simulated 2 seasons with with current V2 rosters and Mckenzie gore and Julio Rodriguez never played a game for San Diego or Seattle because the computer doesnt care to add them By having top prospects on the 40 man, the higher rated ones (like Wander Franco) will be up early, even on opening day, while the ones rated under 70 will most likely play in AAA to start. This is the best compromise I think the game will allow for.

This was a more properly written post but now im having to rewrite it as quickly as possible. Let me know if you guys are interested in this at all. I probably would be able to get you guys something to download by the end of the week, if not sooner. Currently im just playing that fantasy draft one with most of the original players on their team when budget allows. a few of the 40 million dollar contract guys got stuck on the teams they were drafted to but im fine with it. the computer isnt making really stupid trades yet and Im at the end of June. when I simulated two seasons of a franchise with V2 rosters, there were like 10 really weird trades to start April off. Kyle Lewis got traded for Joey Bart, Domingo German was sent to Cincy for something random. a lot of 5th 6th starters got traded as if having too many SP is a really bad thing for a team.

I skimmed this thread but can't find an answer. This isn't a huge deal it just bothers me, but is the rookie of the year/rookie status bugged? I keep running sims to test, but it seems only guys with 0.000 service time can be considered a rookie. Like I said, no big deal but it's mostly annoying.

People can say what they want about the trade logic...although it can be tweaked to see less of the young controllable future superstars traded, the logic replicates the top trade candidates well.

Looking through this list is a who's who of who I see traded in all my sims.

Agreed on trade logic.

I'm currently about a week from the trade deadline and I'm seeing some pretty good trades. Only one really has me scratching my head is the Reds trading away Hunter Greene, although they got a decent return on young talent and MLB ready players, I don't see the reasoning in trading a controllable player, aside from the fact that he's stinking in the minors (has a plus 8 ERA and a WHIP over 2), but I don't think he should be traded at this point.

But other than that, the trades have been good, at least in my humble opinion and can understand the logic behind them.

Hey guys I know this is the 21 thread but figured I can get some help for 20 here also. I’m trying to set up 30 team control for the first time. I set the team that I want to use as my profile and the other 29 as a different profile but when I go in everything still seems linked. Showing the profile for all teams as Mine and everything set to auto. If I change it on my team to Manual I scan back across the teams and it’s changed all of them to manual also. Any help would be appreciated to point out what I’m doing wrong. Followed an old tutorial on YouTube also.

Do a test-sim...I'm not around mine right now, but I'm pretty sure in the main screen it says "Auto" for every team, including mine, but on the back end, my user profile is set to "manual", and all of the others are on "auto". If you've got your 2 profiles set up right, you're fine.

Something I noticed last night on 21, if you have 2 profiles with 30 team control with the cpu teams waivers, free agents and contracts set to manual they will still release players and sign free agents to contracts. After some head scratching testing I realized that those moves are tied to the "roster moves" if they are set to auto. Having call ups and send downs is one thing, but having cpu teams do things that I specifically told them not to do is kind of a deal breaker.


Edit: ...and they just claimed a guy off waivers with "waivers" set to manual.
