Actually I think there is something coded to allow more players to stay longer. I'm seeing Pujols, Cabrera and others sitting a year after their contract runs out before retiring. I guess it would allow someone to edit them and extend the career.

Free agent lists are much longer.

Default rosters have too many high potential players. I'm not sure why its the case, but there is not the number of D's and C's as the past. I think to grab all these top prospects as well caused too many SS. In reality many of them will move positions before reaching the bigs. Most good athletes are SS, many have positions switched in the minors to cf, 3b, or 2b.

I'm also not sure why the cpu is designating so many players for assignment. They are designating young higher potential players that have options.

- i like to see stamina increase now. In your screenshot it’s only one point but did you see other cases of more than +1 ?

- Speed and Arm are other areas not progressing. Still the same i guess !! ?

- for players rated higher than their potential. Let say an 88 OVR but with a potential of 78....is he regressing as fast as before ?

I didn't see anyone progress more than +1 in stamina.

Speed is an interesting one. It was actually hours of discussion one year with Knight, myself and devs in 2011. Evidence shows that people do not increase speed by the time they are drafted. Speed is something, that even with training, sees minimal if any improvement. Mother nature wins everytime and we get slower each year. I honestly didn't check arm or Speed but will go back in the morning. I have a save for every year of testing so I can compare and look more in depth.

I will look into regression tomorrow with players rated higher than potential. If it is like the past it is based on their age. Ratings and potentials seem higher this year in general.

By the time you get to your peak from when you’re drafted at 18 and you get mature and stronger at 24, maybe you can gain a bit. But it needs to be proved scientifically i agree.

But one area I’m pretty sure guys like Raines, Coleman, Henderson etc got better over year is their Stealing Ability and maybe even Run AGR where they were compensating for lost of pure leg speed.

If ps4 did you try to upload you franchise from mlbts20?

I have all platforms. PS4, PS5 and Xbox X.

I've played pretty much exclusively on PS5. There is no way to open a save file in franchise that is not a 21 save.

I too dislike how players fall off the cliff -- I think it should be more likely they regress, but if their stats are good, they should maintain their ratings.

I feel like based on what OP says, regression would fix a lot. If younger players could regress drastically if they perform poorly over extended periods (1 year or more), it would mean fewer players rated 80+. You see far more players under 30 who gain 5 overall points in a season than lose as many. That means the pool of MLB ready players is going to be overflowing.

Another thing I noticed is they've taken out MLB Network broadcast for your postseaon games as well as the "Team Lead 1-0"

I don't think it is bad. It's dynamic and ratings can go up after 30/31. It is based on performance and potential. I believe there is a little of MLB service time baked in so a decline occurs after 6 years to try to simulate a peak.

I'll give some examples here is Maeda at the end of seasons 1-4 and an example of Keuchel end of 33 year old season.
