    Re: Franchise Mode 2021 Edition

TA thanks for doing this thread!

    Couple quick Q's:

-Based on what you have seen so far, what do you think the right mix of A/B/C/D (and maybe F) potential players should be for a solid "base" roster?

-A follow up question, as you have already said there are too many A potential players....do you think the problem lies specifically with too many A potential prospects (i.e minor leaguers and those who are rookie eligible like your Top 100 lists), or too many A potential big leaguers (i.e. Arb/Pre-arb players, or "post hype" guys), or a combination of both? (willing to explain this one more if it's confusing)

-Lastly, in your sims so far, is it more common for a player to exceed/grow past his potential rating or bomb out and never reach it?

Thanks again for your testing so far!

      No problem!
I don't even know if there are F potential anymore. I remember years ago when Knight did rosters he would count the number of A potential players that were on the default roster and try to match prospects with that and B and C potential.

I think over the years people wanted "their team's guy's " and created rosters and even SDS since they added real minors have become inflated.

I couldn't tell you a set number but in needs to be reduced. The number of SS and CF needs to be reduced as well. By adding top prospects, most are up the middle before having their position switched in the minors. Some of the SS prospects need to be switched to other positions. I think the issue is too many prospects.

I did not see anyone Bomb out. They may reduce a potential letter, but the ones that move potential up or down are the ones near the cutout. 88 potential may turn to a 90 a 91 may turn to an 88.

Obviously there could be some I missed since I didn't track all of them, but most prospects gain or lose to their potential. I wish we could hide the potential rating and use scouting reports and performance to gauge.

        Re: Franchise Mode 2021 Edition

I simmed to 2031 and there's big issues..

Every team has 10 to 20 players over 35 years old on their AAA/AA team. Most with A potential.

The highest rated player under age 24 is an 82, with just 1 more over 80, the rest are 79 or less, which is barely high enough to get AA at bats/Innings

Most "prospects" enter the bigs through the rule 5 draft. It's full of 80-85 rated players anywhere from 24-32 yrs old. There are several full rounds of picks each year. The average MLB rookie age is about 28.

There's a lot more wrong, but this is just fundamentally broken. I heard Ramone talking about how they ran so many 30 year sims to test.. That can't possibly be true.

Max contracts are still capped at 31.0 million per year??? If so, that sucks. I'll probably just be sticking with MLB 20 tbh

I think some of that stems from the over inflated roster to start as well as the logic for 40 man and callups. There are TOO many good players so there is no place for them. Teams designate for assignment players and don't fill the roster. The open 40 man leaves players unprotected and players are selected in the rule 5 draft or claimed off waivers.

They were giving out A potentials like they were candy. It's quite ridiculous!

Just stumbled on this thread cause my brother mentioned the Show having a create a stadium in 21. Can you use for PS4 or is it an exclusive next generation thing and can you share the stadiums i.e like the rosters and sliders?

It is Next Gen only and there is a vault for them.

Are vaults fixed yet and is there a list of missing players (arihara, akimiya, etc)

This has always been avoidable by simply manually reducing your active roster from 40 to 26 after your final Spring Training game and before advancing to the regular season. The game treats your entire 40-man roster likes it’s an active roster during Spring Training, so you have to do this to avoid CPU roster interference.

It still works. You have to set injuries to manual. Go to IL tab. Tab to the roster screen and assign injuries.

You can then tab back to place them on 10, 15 or 60 day dl.

Interleague opponents do not rotate this year unfortunately.

I was able to make (didn't actually make them just had the other team agree) to some pretty wild trades.

Using the braves I offered the Angels ozuna, inciarte, and maybe some throw in minor league pitcher? Or either ozuna and Inciarte alone for mike trout and the Angels were good to go.

The Angels would never trade trout and definitely not for that.
Seems like you can go get anyone you want for little value lost.

Also haven't seen the morale page like some have posted. Hopefully it's gone. On 20 Freeman would get mad when I hit him 2nd in the lineup (where he actually hits) because he wasn't the "star". Then certain guys wanted a star spot who had no business wanting it. Hope it's gone.
At the all star break teams making crazy trades like vald jr. The As literally traded everyone away except chapman for C potential prospects

Like I posted in the OP I believe they trade young controllable superstars a little too easily. I don't want it completely nuked, because rebuilding teams do dump, just wrong type players.

Check rosters too. If they have a young high potential player they tend to trade the older player or one with more value.

I think the biggest issue is they see arbitration and renewable players as final year players. Tor holds onto Seimen but trades Bichette because it sees Bichette as in final year and doesn't account that they have control for multiple years.
