For real. I really don't get the appeal of that part. And don't get the appeal of Ultimate Team sort of things. Maybe if I was in college and had friends to play against.

Having older players available is great, I love having the old teams available on the NBA 2K series available to put into Association mode.

Maybe it's because I still have thousands of old, actual real, cards from my card collecting teen years. Which I pretty much never go back to look at them. I really should trash them or burn them, but just can't bring myself to do that despite I really have no reason to keep them.

60 here. Retired almost 2 years ago so I have plenty of time to game now. Old enough to remember that Pong was awesome when it came out.

Having grown up with video games, I’ve played ‘em all over the years. Atari, Intellivision, Commodore 64, PC, Xbox, PlayStation, blah blah.

Gaming doesn’t end as you get older, though my tastes in game genre have. Used to really like shooters, not so much now. Now it’s all about sports games (baseball, football, hockey) and, since I’m a pilot, I really enjoy flight simulation.

        55. Born in Brooklyn close enough to Dodgers moving to still hear dad and uncles talk about them. Hooked on to Dodgers from early age and have not looked back.
Lived in NY and now downtown San Diego, so not many friends with me wearing Dodger Blue. :-)

50 here. I also am a high school and park ball umpire. I have enjoyed this game after being jealous of the playstation owners for years.

Took me years to get into The Show games, because I couldn't get the hang of hitting.

Probably my favorite baseball game was the NCAA baseball for PS2. Mostly because the customization was amazing. Every single team could be edited to be a generic team. The stadiums were fantatic. The throwing and batting were great. Really can't say enough.
Its my firm opinion that in all ways except for graphics, the PS2 era was the pinnacle of sports video games. We didn't know how good we had it at the time, because everything kept getting better up to that point.

I'm 25, I found this forum when I was an Xbox player playing MLB 2K9 and I saw the screenshots of MLB 09 The Show, I loved the interaction between the Devs and users on this site and the screenshots compared to my MLB 2K9 blew me away and really made me regret getting the Xbox for Christmas. That summer I went out and bought a PS3 with my allowance and communion money and have on here ever since, play the crap out of each iteration of the Show.

Some years it's been the only video game I buy and play it year round.

I’m 45. I remember having an Atari 2600 then a Nintendo. Had the first four PlayStation consoles, the first Xbox and the Xbox 360 and currently own a Series X. Been playing The Show for a while.

I totally agree. The PS2 and Xbox sports games were the best

I am 42, been playing baseball games since MLB Baseball on my brother's Intellivision. Loved the 2k series and did a lot of attribute edits later on, earlier played in the leagues. Great times.

That being said, I have never played the Show until it came to Xbox this year. It is the real deal. I really really enjoy this game. Very impressed with The Show and very happy I can support Sony and the developers from my Xbox.

I am a little surprised at the lack of love for Tony LaRussa Baseball from Stormfront Studios. I played that game like I play The Show now. As of matter of fact I was playing this and Old Time Baseball until 2007? I think when I switched to PS and MLB The Show

Was it a Sega-only game? I never had a Sega system, and none of my friends did either. I know that nationally there was this idea that they were a big rival to Nintendo, but where I lived they seemed to not be very popular. I don't know that I've ever even seen a Saturn in person. I think I played a Genesis somewhere once.

Really? no Genesis's in your area, that's crazy. Back in the day Mortal Kombat was king on the Sega and obviously Sonic the Hedgehog was very popular as well. I had a friend that lived a few houses down from me that had The Sega Master system which included a built in game, a Neo-Geo and later on he had a Saturn. Between a few friends and myself our neighborhood was lit with video games back in the days. The guy that I just mentioned literally had a kitchen sized garbage bag full of NES games that he would carry from house to house. I think his dad was a gamer.

As far as baseball is concerned, the first baseball game that I remember playing frequently was Sports Talk Baseball on the Genesis.

I am 53 but quite spry! Huge Show fan and so blessed to see video baseball evolve to where it is today.

This thread has sent me into the nostalgia weeds conjuring up the memories of the many games I've played over the years. There have been many dandies!

I played the PC version for 1 thru 3. I think there was a SEGA version.
