It's by far my favorite sports gaming franchise.

The Show 21 might be the only game I've ever owned that brings three different generations together, huddled around a TV. My dad (68), nephew (10), and I have a franchise going. I created the uniforms, stadium and handle the pitching. They do the hitting. It's the most fun I've had in a long time. I can't wait to see what the future holds for this incredible franchise and its wonderful developers.
That's beautiful. I'm sure your nephew will look back very fondly of these family gaming sessions!

I'm 25 and my first game was MLB 2K5 on Xbox (later played the vastly superior MVP Baseball 2005) and was hooked instantly. Graduated to MLB 2K6 the next year and played that until I got my PS3 in 2008 and grabbed MLB The Show 08 soon after. Have played every The Show since (except 21... Not yet)

I remember watching baseball on the Atari while my Dad played. I started on the NES. RBI was definitely the first baseball game I played followed by Bases Loaded. "PING!!!"

            I'll be 41 this year.

Re: How old are you, MLB the Show fan?

                I'm 49 years old.

I grew up in New York, rooting for the Yankees. I played little league and loved playing stick ball.

My Dad got me a MacMillan Baseball Encyclopedia when I was 12 and I have been hooked ever since.

Played Atari 2600 and 5200 baseball, Hardball on my Commodore 128. APBA baseball board game before getting addicted to Pursue the Pennant baseball board game. That thing was amazing.

I actually bought Earl Weaver Baseball for the PC before i even got a computer to play it on. LOL.

Next got hooked on the Tony LaRussa Baseball PC game, the 2nd one was even better because you could by a separate disk with all the stadiums. I saved up 1,000 dollars to by a 486 computer in college just to play that and Old Time Baseball PC game. That game had all the classic stadiums and it was awesome. Loved playing in Old Yankee Stadium.

Played Triple Play baseball on the original PS1 but started playing Madden and College Basketball games.

MLB 08 on the PS3 brought me back to Baseball and now I am obsessed with pitch edits. LOL.

I also started my own video sports blog on Youtube.

I'll be 45 next month, been playing video games since my dad got my brother and I an Atari 2600 and a Colecovision. I've loved sports games throughout my gaming life, especially Joe Montana Football 94, MVP Baseball 05, and Dr. J vs. Larry Bird.

My first The Show game was whatever year Pedroia was on the cover.

                    I am 43.

The first baseball game I can remember playing is the one on Atari and it was..just awful. My favorite of all time is still Baseball Stars 1 on NES. I sunk probably thousands of hours into that game. Even when the battery died in my cartridge and I had to leave my NES on all day and long so it wouldn't lose the stats and team I had built. It was awesome.

This is to mean no offense but it goes to show how sports forums and forums in general have changed over the years. All of the younger demographic must be on Reddit, Twitter, etc. The game boards are not much of a thing anymore. I was all over these boards, VSN, etc, when I was as young as 14 years old. Born in 1995 and signed up in January of 2010. Time flies.

Reddit truly is a different audience if anyone has ventured that way.

My baseball journey started with some of the All Star baseball games, and some of the EARLY show games when they were just called MLB. Never became a huge sports nut until around MVP 05 (The G.O.A.T) came along. Been here ever since.
I've just found Reddit to be a combination of messy, confusing, and overly basic all at the same time. While you can sometimes find an interesting conversation about something happening, its difficult to come back and talk about the same thing over and over with the same people, like you can on a message board.

As far as Twitter, I don't see how people talk to one another that way whatsoever. It can be useful for seeing what an expert in a field has to say in their tweet (such as sports or news reporter), but as far as talking back and forth to anyone, its no different than the comment section on a Youtube video.
Anyone who claims to be a fan of two teams in the same pro sport is actually a fan of none.

I can’t read reddit. Unfortunately most is pure toxicity, rambling and agenda’s.

Twitter is whatever as well. I don’t even really use it either. It has it’s use but also it is highly toxic and full of echo chambers.

I love old school message boards like this. Something about them feels.....comfortable.

Looking back on my baseball gaming....I had a real love affair with (and still play them from time to time) with table top cards and dice. Strat-O-Matic is awesome but I actually liked Statis-Pro more. The “Fast Action Card” system is really awesome. It plays a great game of baseball, football and basketball.

I also still have Parker Brothers Starting Line Up Talking Baseball and all the cartridges with different teams. Such a fun game. Also have their Superstar Talking Football game with the same digital play by play voice lol. I have both games complete with all the original cards, playbooks all of it. And they still work great!!!

If I had to rank my favorite baseball games by all the consoles I played:

Atari 2600 - Real Sports Baseball and M Network (which was a port of the Intellivision baseball).

NES - Baseball Stars, Bases Loaded The Second Season and RBI 3

Sega Genesis - Tony La-Russa Baseball and Sega World Series Baseball....Hardball 3 was also pretty cool

                          Playstation - Triple Play

                          Playstation 2 - High Heat 2004, All-Star Baseball 2005, MVP 2005, MLB The Show 06

                          Playstation 3 - MLB The Show 11 and 12

                          Playstation 4 - MLB The Show 20

41.5 year old baseball nut! First baseball game was bases loaded on NES. Loved Hardball and High heat on PC.

It was in 07 that an MLB show dev, through PM, talked me into a PS3 and the Show! It's been love ever since!!

36 or 37 I forget , [emoji848]... but first game was Super Tecmo Baseball on SNES when I casually followed baseball plus having only local channels on tip of South Texas didn't help.
Then N64s All Star Baseball Series. Joined the military and didn't really follow baseball too much at the time. I discovered MLB the Show initially on the PSP during one of my deployments mid 2000s.
It wasn't until maybe 2012-2013 I switched from Xbox to Playstation and I finally played The Show on console.... and ever since then I have been hooked.

31 here, been playing since The Show 16. Been playing baseball games ever since Bad News Baseball on the NES! Went from that to MLB Slugfest 20-03 (Which is still my favorite!). After getting tired of downloading user made rosters and applying and transferring data in MLB2k13 for a couple years, I bought a PS4 for MLB The Show 16, and it felt like my eyes finally were opened! Now that The Show is back on Xbox, so am I
