Classic all the way now. Feels much more realistic. Have it on Hall of Fame.

I'm experimenting with directional hitting, but I'm not sure if I like it or not.

I've been a Classic player for a long time. But I finally got comfortable last year with turning the pitch marker off too. Not sure I could play the game any other way now.

I can't do the pinpoint pitching. I just can't do it, so I guess not including that, what is the most realistic?

I changed to classic for a couple games, but noticed even Shane Bieber had trouble hitting his spots.

So yeah, what do you guys think?

I know this has been talked about before, but the game changes, so wanted to get the info for 21 in particular.
For me, I want realistic stats but also want to be engaged. I find both classic w/o meters and directional are like shooting craps in Vegas... a complete gamble I have NO CONTROL over. IF I lose, I want to lose on my own. Same for earning a win. Classic/Directional does not provide a payoff. It's a simple button press and watch. Then some do auto fielding to double down on the boredom... not how I'm spending my free time but to each their own.

I think anyone who uses classic/directional would disagree with this cause you certainly do have control over if you win or lose, it's just in a different way. Hard to explain but the longer you play using those the more you realize how much control you still have.

Definitely frustrating at times but there are 162 games for a reason. Hitting a baseball is regarded as one of, if not the hardest thing to do in sports. I do get what you're saying though, especially for pitching where you have less control than you do hitting with directional. It's just a matter of personal preference whether you want player attributes to matter more or less. It's similar to NBA 2k players who use the shot meter or real player %

I actually use pulse pitching with the pitching marker OFF and that's a pretty cool way to pitch. Used classic for awhile but some of the pitching motions really threw me off. So with pulse it's about timing yes BUT with the marker off it's very important to use the vibration for placement and I've enjoyed the challenge so far.

Classic pitching. No assists or markers on screen. Vibration off. Being a former pitcher, I can relate to having to concentrate on each and every pitch with the only target being the catcher's mitt. Takes a while to adjust to if you have been using assists, but you have full control of where and how hard you throw each pitch.

I moved from meter to classic pitching. I was wondering is the pitch pressure sensitive.

I fastball is X... The longer I hold it down the faster the pitch, which also means less control of the pitch?

Tap = less speed, more control, less break
Hold until vibration = more speed, less control, more break

Pressing for a duration between a tap and a long press is somewhere in the middle.

I tried Classic once last year and didn't like it. Felt a little too hands off to me. But this thread inspired me to give it another try. I had no idea about the whole holding the button down to increase effort thing. So I tried it, and that little wrinkle added enough agency for me that I loved it. I'm going to be using that rather than pinpoint for my franchise now.

For what it’s worth, turning human pitcher accuracy down a notch makes meter pitching much better.

I prefer pulse. I've found that's the right balance for me, especially when the timing/size of the pulse changes based on a specific pitch confidence.

Only classic cause with the other interfaces you can override ratings. Used to hate seeing guys who can’t find the strike zone become roy Halladay on this game.
