Baltimore. Peter Angelos is a terrible man. Has the Nats TV rights held hostage and was the only owner who voted against the Expos moving to DC. He's also made multiple bad signings and trades.

I'm surprised no one has said Anaheim. Arte Moreno is also a terrible owner. Multiple bad signings and contracts and just wasting away Mike Trout's prime years.

Yeah - my decision is starting to sway heavily towards Baltimore given the fact of his age & declining health - his sons have been given control over the organization but it doesn’t appear that their heart is fully committed to it and may be open to selling

Yes - Peter not relinquishing the TV rights is manipulative control of him holding onto something given the state of his organization - the fact that he even asked for players to take a pay cut is terrible given they are one of the lowest payrolls to begin with.

Going through google and looking at ownership groups and the MLB teams that are owned by corporations are:

Atlanta Braves - Liberty Media
Toronto Blue Jays - Rogers Communications
Washington Nationals - Lerner Enterprises
Tampa Bay Rays (Mischievous owner - Stuart Sternberg)

The Braves & Blue Jays have been rumored to sell - even more so the Blue Jays - in recent years. It just appears that all the other ball clubs have options to either keep it in the family or their is no reason for the owner to sell unless forced out by the commissioner and if Crane (Astros) is being forced to sell - I don’t see any owner that will be. Tampa Bay’s owner could maybe be a possibility - especially with the lawsuit against him - but only time will tell.

I’m putting this out there for the sake of pure baseball conversation - I really enjoy the feedback and insight from you guys.

this is one of the ''little things'' the Show should do to help make franchise more immersive,

and that is to be able to give a name to every team owner and GM in the Show. it would probably be better (by being easier to code in) if it were purely cosmetical and didn't change anything like having scouts and coaches do.

also, you should be able to give the actual team you're running, their assistant GM, a name. I hate getting those texts from ''assistant GM'' and not have a name with. the way it is now I feel more like I'm getting anonymous spam from random dude I don't even know as opposed to meaningful information from a valuable member of my organisation. a member whose name I supposedly do not know. major gear grinder

I definitely agree - the immersion of franchise mode for the The Show needs to be COMPLETELY revamped especially with Madden stepping up their game this year for 22. Authentic names always allow for the user to have a more personal connection within their franchise. The Show also needs to allow for created draft classes to be imported like Madden and 2K.

Owners haven't changed much over the years. I think most of them would say the same types of things to this day.

They had to force some of these goons out of their sport (Donald Sterling, Jerry Richardson.. Danny Snyder seems to be on his way)

It will be interesting to see how many of these absurdly rich athletes find themselves in a position to buy teams, and how they may change the landscape.

as long as we're off-topic with all-time worst owners ever, Comiskey isn't in the top 10 of worst owners ever, not even the worst mlb owner in the city of Chicago, that honor belongs to the Tribune

worst owner ever, it's a toss-up between the Red Sox owner that let Ruth go to the Yankees for a song and a dance, literally.

and the Twins Calvin Griffith. so cheap he wouldn't even hire a GM not to mention the Rod Carew thing

but back to Comiskey, it should have been 9 Men Out, he should have been banned for life too. AFAIC he bore a lot of of irresponsibility for the Black Sox scandal IMO

The Indians are also family owned. I doubt they would be sold.

.. I wouldn't be surprised if the A's were sold. Another box store (Gap) owner, destroyed by Amazon. Move to a h@ll hole like Portland, or sell?... give me the money!

Hmmm…interesting…Yes - I was looking at the A’s yesterday at John Fisher is an utter buffoon - the team has needed a new stadium for years and now the Last of the Mohicans in terms of teams in Oakland - would really hate to see them leave and if I took control of them - I wouldn’t allow that.

It’s getting down to the nitty gritty - the A’s came in pretty clutch here making it difficult to choose but I will make a choice today because it’s time to begin.
