MLB is responsible to deliver like 135-155 (depends on market) games to their RSN's before they have to start cutting checks and paying them back. SO it seems like this is the real deadline for the owners, I think I heard they're good with missing about a month of the season.So they're probably going to play hardball with he players until that deadline.

Ken Rosenthal was talking about it either in his pod or it was in his athletic article. Just basically saying the mlb's deadline in which games need to start by is basically around may 1. He also kind said they'd rather not pay the players and give up the little bit of gate they get in April

yeah they met for 90 mins discussed no proposal no word on meeting again.... etc etc only about the shift for 2023 banning it

Yep. No urgency.

I have heard about the May 1st deadline. So I'm sure we will get another round of games canceled for the 2nd week pretty soon. March 30th will be the new deadline for them. If I was the players I woud be like okay we'll give you our best final offer before your deadline.

Yeah too bad they took carry over saves out and the new games don't have the real Bacons Roster. Well at least not the really good ones with service time and simulated years and such.

So the 14 team playoff BS on the table again .. yeah it’s gonna happen it will be part of the deal that gets it done .

So a 60 game season gives hope to Marlins and a 29 win Astor’s. It’s pathetic

The nfl had proven the 2 extra teams should be there look at eagles and Steelers. Just made up the numbers. At the end and on the other side you might get a under 500 team like Astros just get hot at the right time.. it’s bad in baseball mode playoff teams

CBS wrote a report saying what the season would look like depending on what time they reach a deal. If it is August, they said they could do a 30 team to tournament. That would be horrible.

Yep it’s weeks and weeks of work they are good rosters for your only world so your brain isn’t thinking of big name players quite clever

I’m not crazy about 14 playoff teams but I guess I’ll get used to it.

I see some complaints that it would encourage mid tier teams to not bother spending but perhaps it would actually encourage them to make that extra push to capture a playoff berth.

we do need baseball back but I hope playoff expansion isn't the dealbreaker/maker

I don't mind more than 10-12 teams in the post-season but I wish team 13 through 16 (anything more than 16 is entirely too many IMO) I wish team 13 through 16 were 1 game wildcard games and not a series
