I don't think Sony regards anything within Play Now as any more a dealbreaker/maker than say, HR Derby or Practice Mode. I'm not saying that's what I prefer but it's what I have expected for the last dozen years and will continue more of the same for the next dozen. maybe when the bigger modes like such as Franchise, RttS, DD & M2O are closer to ''perfect'', only then would I think they'd shift focus on the lesser aspects. and I don't believe anyone thinks the larger modes will ever be anywhere near as ''complete'' as they'd wish

It doesn’t have to be official for them to add an option for it to be toggled on and off. It’s honestly a no-brainer considering it will be obviously added in the CBA.

That’s exactly the problem though. Not including it for Play Now mode is nothing short of laziness.

They messed this one up too because every team would carry 26 players but non would carry 13 pitchers. Always 12.

They offered to let them do rule changes in 45 days and lowered the arbitration to $80. We won’t have baseball before May 1st if the players wont move. You won’t see the owners move up anymore until we get closer to May 1st.

The players would be dumb to give in now at this point. If it is true that the owners have to start paying back the tv contracts on May 1st then that will be their deadline. The February 28th deadline was for the players to start the season on opening day. That is already missed so the players need to hold out until the owners start sweating on their May 1st goal. But sadly, these owners already have a backup plan if there is no 2022 season.

PA you already have numerous wins in the “new” CBA, you arent gonna win everything back.

Just drop this huge $18 mil difference CBT ask and get this *** **** lockout over with!!!!!!

I see this issue on both sides. PA never ever wanted a salary cap and this essentially acts more and more like one with each passing year. MLB doesn’t want runaway owners and this is the only way to offset revenue/market discrepancies.

Being able to control a player for so long, and in different ways that are detrimental to earnings makes all of these issues so magnified and personal for the players.

Heck, the owners don’t even want to go up to $220 which the owners are offering. The players need to go down to $220 and have it raised to $230 by the end. The offer of the cbt going to $260 in 5 years is crazy.

I am surprised there are no talks of a salary floor. If I was the players I would be like fine. $220 for the salary cap. $75M for the salary floor. If you go above the max or below the min you pay a tax.

The players would show you this chart.

This system is just not sustainable in 2022 and beyond. Baseball is competing against other pro sports that, quite frankly, are more entertaining to the average consumer and compensate the majority of players better.

Like Kid was alluding to, they need to get creative with alternate revenue streams for players (bonus pool) and they have to nip this service time manipulation or at least corral it. Everyone thinks of service time manipulation as the blatant super 2s (Kris Bryant), when in reality it is the players they control and dictate and chew up until age 24 when they are no longer valued by any model.

Baseball is still an overly regional game in most aspects, when the country and world continues to become more and more national and global.

Both sides need to budge on CBT, otherwise we not having baseball until June.
