Ghost wins are just ridiculous, they might as well just say it is a 2 game series. but the lower seed has to win both... adding the terminology of 'ghost wins' is just plain stupid.



just say the higher seed only has to win 1 game where the lower seed has to win 2 games.

I don't think ghost win will be the actual terminology.

Maybe they'll just call it something like "series advantage" or something random.

Too bad we won't see the "pick your poison" format. Even for the WC round and LDS round it would've been fun. Actually, I would prefer that over the "1-0 series lead". Let the division winner who is in the WC round choose which of the other 3 teams they play in a best of 3 in that division winners ballpark.

Not only would you have all games that round at home, you're choosing which of those teams you play. That seems like a fair enough advantage without adding imaginary wins.

I feel like the owners are coming around. If the players reject this offer I think they will look bad in the public eye.

So far it’s the owners who have looked like they didn’t even want to negotiate.

Hopefully they can get this done before anymore time is lost.

and we would somehow by miracle end up with 162 game season. I have no idea how they are gonna catch up on the missing first week of games though. . I guess double headers. but look at the yankees it was suppose to be a trip to texas and Houston how can you throw in double headers for a 4 game series??

Correct I don't want to see on the scoreboard that Team X leads the series 1-0 at ALL, I am fine if team X wins the series 1-0. or team y wins the series 2-0.. I really would hate to see that someone is leading the series 1-0. I know it is nit picking and doesn't matter but it does visually.

40 mil is only like 1.3 mil per team and it counts against the CBT for each club.. so knock 1.3 mil off that 230 starting CBT off rip. Realistically it needs to get 60 mil or CBT needs to get into the 250s by CBA end.

MLB again appears to be quite agro with the smaller parts of the deal when it gives on the big items. Encouraging that players get no QO and 6 teams in the draft lottery. Not sure if it is enough to offset the international lottery and MLB trying to further it’s control on rule changes.

yeah well that is common sense when you sell a house or a item you always raise the asking price much higher then you expect in return and try and meet in the middle.

This proposal release is super fleshed out, and quite convoluted in my opinion. The fact we are seeing all of this at one time gives me a lot of hope.

Some other details of MLB proposal:

• Players can be optioned max 5 times before being exposed to waivers (this will screw the show up for this year franchise mode)
• Small markets can pick in draft lottery for two straight years before sliding to 10th pick.
• Large markets can pick only one year in lottery before going to 10th


• Top 2 Rookie of Year vote getters can get a full year of service.

• A team that brings up a player for Opening Day can net 3 draft picks over time, one pick per year, if that player does well in voting
