The issue is a very, very real one regarding how players are “procured” in Latin America, but leave it to the owners to be nefarious actors in using solely as PR leverage. It’s been a CBA topic since 2002, so I was surprised that it became a flashpoint if it was a genuine issue. It clearly isn’t.

I don’t get the doom and gloom. I hope I’m not wrong

MLB isnt offering $60 mil, they're at $40 mil.

I’m sorry, I should have implied if it was offered. I was however unaware that the arb pool climbs by 5 mil per year in the player’s proposal. Can’t imagine that has any traction with the owners.

If the owners don't remove an International Draft from the current proposals, I don't see a deal getting done.

They could easily mark it as a topic that could be implemented later in the CBA after they due more due diligence and research this topic more and get more people involved to discuss.

The number are close enough that I would think an agreement could be made if the international draft was taken out of the equation.
I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.

I miss the old days of Operation Sports :(

                      But for how much longer?

Everything is going south very quick.

They are like $2M apart on the CBT now. I think they take the option 1.

Aside from pre-arb being out of whack, which I hope is being used as a chip, they are right there on core issues. So I agree with you.

Players wa T that qualify offer gone. This would be their chance for the international draft.

                                Option 1 isn’t a fair offer.

Owners trying to find alternative way to get international draft in 2024 or lock players out again if don’t get what they want
