The course of negotiations should be nothing of a surprise to anyone. Both sides are right and wrong on issues and we all know it.

But how and why does this thread merit top of the MLB the Show forums? I’ve seen other discussions moved for less. No one is in the room on these negotiations so can we please stop acting like we are? Or speculating as the like?

This lockout is really 25 years in the making, but at this point, has nothing to do with MLB the Show 22. Given news cycle of MLB the Show 22 ramping up less than one month from release, it shouldn’t be this thread bumping back to the top.

I agree with lots here, but seems this is taking shine away from what may be a solid game in MLBTS 22. Just my two cents here.

I am saying missed games is not good and a ruined season. it screws the stats and makes the season one you look back at as 'astricks' it will be a 'yeah but' ... like we did last year we kept saying oh he sucked in 2020 'yeah but' it was only 60 games.

I didn't watch much of 2020 I was over it by the time we got to June and stopped caring.. and when the season finally started I had no heart in it at all and didn't care didn't feel like a REAL season at all.

We are now down to 150 games for the year (at this stage) that is already some starters missing 2 or 3 starts pitching. you might not care but lots do about that.

Considering the MLB didn't start 162 games seasons until around 1960, if they have to play 140-150 it may alter modern day stats but those seasons prior to the 162 game schedule still count and are not asterisked.

They can still play a long season, just not 162 if a deal isn't super close. By saying a season is ruined if 162 games isn't played, it essentially negates 80 years of baseball history. And that is not a fair comparison.

Yes it is the fault of both parties but if it happens and they play 140 games it is still a part of history and should not have as asterisk next to it.

More competing the stats of the modern era of 162. 2020 can go ti hell for me that season. It wasn’t just about 60 games it was the rules and 14 playoff teams it’s laughable. Now if we get 150 games sure I can accept that as a real season and real rules. but it ruins the stats sadly.

Same can be said about the nfl having a extra game of a player beats a TD record it’s because of a extra game.we can never compete again but we can compete the 17 game seasons now

It sounds like tempers flared last night and then someone was like okay wait what are we doing. It seems stupid to miss 2 weeks of the season because of a 6 pm deadline. So lets hope that they can figure out the draft/QO pick and then continue talking about the numbers today.

This is so exhausting for us as fans listening and reading these reports. I can't imagine how mentally exhausting it is for both sides. Even though we are disappointed in both sides.

I just don't know if Manfred will change opening day back to April 7th after canceling another week and postponing it to April 14th without looking like an idiot that jumped the gun. Even though he did cancel the games last week and moved opening day to April 6th/7th and then put 162 games back on the table this week. He was still going with the April 6th/7th opening day and games would be made up and squeezed in.

You also said the players should work at McDonalds... ?? .. and that they might as well cancel 2022. stay away. Im sure the cubs will be fine without this type of fandom.
