Sports games should be about perfecting gameplay in my opinion and SDS does a good job iterating on gameplay. I'd love to see some better dirt and grass textures, but if push comes to shove, I'd still rather have incremental gameplay improvements.

I agree. Yes there are some squared shoulders that could use some attention, but this is a beautiful game. What a gift thinking back. Let’s hope SDS never folds up shop because I personally don’t believe there’s a developer/studio out there that can do what they’ve done.

Fair point. If I had to choose between graphics perfection and outstanding game play, I would choose the game play, which is what keeps me coming back to the show, and dropping madden after 2 months.

It doesn't mean I don't care about graphics though.

Understood, just think the graphics aren’t getting a fair shake. I’ve got the PS5 on a 65” Samsung QLED and I’m just sort of stunned how beautiful the game is. Not every game that has been released for the PS5 looks “next gen”. I’m thinking I’m going to see a noticeable improvement with 22.

Watch Horizon FW and look at what Next Gen can do and come back to me about games looking like PS4 just upped to 4K and in create a stadium PS3 and say that again. Look at sleeveless jerseys or take a close look at the ballparks and tell me they shouldn't be updated. They are charging you a next gen price. No one says you cant still love the game..just keep it real

Here's the thing though, those two things improving aren't mutually exclusive. The gameplay team is separate from the graphics team. Work being put into one should not be precluding work on the other.

There should have been a jump last year graphically and instead....there was more of an esthetic jump. things like the phillies stadium finally getting correct colors(but then in the 22 trailer its back to olive!)

The grass looks like the same 3d rendering from ps4....

and the cloth physics are glued on would rather a mlb2k7 look

The last time this game had a serious jump in graphics was when the catcher equipment evolved and they started using that technology to make dugout interiors and fences look more realistic. That was how long ago ?

I wish they’d at least improve the grass on next gen. Unless I get some new astros jerseys ive been wanting and/or the astrodome, I think I’ll stick with 21. It’s a really great game.

They need that for the stadium creator. They have the camera, but I used one of the smaller statues for behind it. Looked OK at a distance. This would be great though.
