No Sounds Of The Show for MLB 22?

I saw in the thread about Stadiums not transferring that SOTS isn’t in the game again this year. Is that confirmed?

Its the same as last year

SOTS is in the PS4 version.

Not in the other versions of the game.
I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.

I miss the old days of Operation Sports :(

Grateful it's at least sticking around on PS4, but it's really disappointing that there's no version of the game that includes both SOTS and stadium creator.

I'm sure I'm not the only Giants fan who'd like to use these uniforms in a created Candlestick Park and hear this sound clip after a home run.

Hopefully SOTS can make a return sooner rather than later. I know this puts me in the minority here on OS, but I want SOTS back even more than I want Y2Y saves.

I still believe it is some type of mandate from Sony or a limitation of the PS5.

If it was an SDS decision and they wanted to do away with it entirely then I would assume that they would remove it from the PS4 as well, for the sake of feature parity.

I know others have mentioned it might be a system thing (perhaps on the Xbox side since the PS4 version of SOTS works fine on PS5), but I'm not an expert on that.

If that's the case, I hope it can be addressed/updated rather easily. I mean even the Original Xbox had music importing/ripping available...

I'd have to assume since it's now 2nd year in a row for now Next Gen SoS, it's a MS Limitation. Pretty certain MS does not allow custom music to be loaded/played during games anymore.

If that's the case, SoS may end when PS4 version of The Show is no longer available.

I have no issues using SOTS on the PS5 for MLB 20. It is not console limitations.

Clearly a Microsoft issue and having feature parity on the new generation of consoles with PS5/XBOB X and now the Switch.

If it is like '20 on PS5, you'll be able to add music and everything you can do with SotS like normal. Only the next gen versions of the game are limited by not having SotS which, as Armor mentioned, is likely due to Microsoft not being able to add music or whatever.

Appreciate the response…hope you right…as cool as stadium creator is I’d much rather have sots…especially since I turn off all commentary

It's real disappointing that SOTS won't be in the PS5 version. Custom sounds have been one of the big things in sports games I've loved dating back to the PS3 era. I spent so much time over the years on those custom sounds from the main menu music, batter walkup music, and the between inning TV broadcast music.

I hope it does return eventually. I don't care one bit about online modes or stuff like that, but a feature like sots (and custom sounds on other sports games) is actually one of the factors that goes into my decision on if I want to get a PS5.

Not that I'd want it every year to be this way, but if they even add SOTS as some DLC this year, I'd pay for that, and I'm someone who hates paying for DLCs.

Don't give them ideas about adding it as DLC lol. Nah, until something official comes out, I'm pretty certain SOTS won't be on PS5 due to some parity requirement. Specifically MS(And now Nintendo) not allowing custom music to be loaded.

Only reason it's still on PS4 is probably due to backlash if it wasn't and removed. Remove a feature for 1 system that has ALWAYS had it due to parity for the other systems? SDS would get roasted.

I'm not sure how it works, but would having it as a PS5 exclusive DLC be a way around the likely XBox/Nintendo problems they'd face with it? Not sure if a PS5 exclusive DLC is any different than just having a PS5 exclusive feature already added into the game from the start, but if it is different, that could be an option.

They probably won't even do that, as they could have for 21. We know it's not a limitation of PS5 hardware since players could load SOTS music for the PS4 Version on PS5(Same as 20 on PS5).

They're just not making it available for Next Gen, and not giving a reason why. Parity on Next Gen is the only valid reason I can think of.

Although, I think it be a fair trade off. If MS can put the Show on Gamepass day 1 for X Users, why can't PS Users get SOTS for Next Gen? I'd buy 22 for PS5 if it had it.
