Co op mode is stupid, played it earlier and yeah I’ll be sticking with franchise mode.

Any OSers want to co-op via PlayStation on regular teams?

Re: MLB The Show 22 Technical Test Starts on February 17 - Download Available Now
Its likely going to take something significant in the upcoming streams to get my anticipation for '22 to increase, because the tech test didn't do it. It just doesn't provide that same excitement for the new game like '21 did over '20.
This isn't to say that '22 BETA is bad, because it isn't. But in this current pre-release state, there isn't anything there that excites me or persuades me to abandon my current franchise and start over. It was tough to do last year (granted I was more heavily invested in a carryover franchise of 13 seasons), but '21 was so good in the BETA that it made that decision extremely tough. Right now, its not that tough, as if I was forced to decide today, I'd stick with my current franchise in '21 versus starting over.
Again I know and understand its a BETA and things can change and I'm much looking forward to certain upcoming streams to see what is announced. But for now, I've actually deleted the tech test as I'd rather not "waste time" looking for enjoyment when I can apply that time to a franchise and game that I'm currently enjoying, even moreso after getting a PS5.Comment

There was another year where Countryboy passed on buying the game, don’t remember the year. He’s not passing entirely, just wants to see more. Can’t blame him. He’s a fan, I’m a fan, trying to keep it real.Comment

Summed up my thoughts as well. I have played two full games and what stood out to me was a better balance with check swings, obviously the fielding is better than 20 overall. And the crowd audio was impressive.
Enough to move the needle for me to leave 20?
No.
Is it a upgrade from 21? Oh most definitely. But it is not enough of an upgrade from 20 for me to leave behind my long running franchises, roster content and SOTS.

Armor you know you getting 22. It's just a demo. They still have time to deliver surprises.Comment

Absolute joke of a follow up. They've done nothing to get new xbox players into the game. Devs been playing it for years, playstation owners have been playing it for years. Those folks have developed high skill at the game. You cannot sit down and play this with friends who are new to it, it's too hard. Despite being able to play it solo with adjustment, online remains for everyday players and those high skill folks. Their is no new options, no new cameras (for a game with a bunch of cameras, it's amazing how bad they all are). This is a cut and paste effort.Comment

So many varieties of hits I have seen so far. Like the new patch jersey scoreboard. Seems like they added new face impressions. Got hit couple of times the batter stares down the pitcher as if he was gonna charge the mound. Wish they would add coaches arguing with the umpires. NHL has fighting in their games.Comment

Had a batter hit a shot he thought it was a home run but it bounce back into play with a double. The ball went clearly over the fence but it didn't cross the yellow tape. I believe if this was a full game that play would've been challenged by the umpires or the opposite team.Comment

PS5 Owner and nothing really stood out
Grass still looks like turf and still no upgrades to a few players that have had the same look for the past 6yrs
Color me not impressed
70 bucks for Roster Update, Night games in Created Stadiums (even though promised last yr) and Cleveland Guardians 🤦*♂️Comment

Re: MLB The Show 22 Technical Test Available Now
Played a couple 6 inning games on default All-Star. Both the cpu and myself had trouble generating offense. Over 2 games, I held the cpu scoreless w/ 16 strikeouts. I had a 2 run HR in one game. Other than that, pretty anemic hitting.
I thought the game looked and played well. Visually, I thought it looked slightly more crisp/sharp and player movement seemed fluid. Although definitely going to have to adjust speed down.
It felt like pitches were just a tad slower than normal. Could have been me though. CPU was throwing a lot of sinkers and offspeed pitches. I'll give it more time before deciding if I want to increase pitch speeds.
Overall, as a more casual player, I think it plays good. I'm very curious to see what under-the-hood improvements have been made to Franchise. Not being able to import rosters is huge for me because I use fictional rosters (mostly Bacons). Really glad it's on GamePass again.

Re: MLB The Show 22 Technical Test Starts on February 17 - Download Available Now
I haven't play The Show probably since the 2013 edition. Being exclusively a Switch user, I was super pumped for 10am this morning. About 20 minutes into playing, I'm not feeling so pumped anymore lol.
For those who have played NBA2K on the Switch, I was hoping The Show would have been able to hit 2K's performance benchmarks. It's not too far off, but I can't help but feel like it needs more development time. The player's hair, the resolutions on the jerseys... just not quite there yet.
30fps is fine when it's locked, but it dips when the fielding camera kicks in. I didn't even bother using pitch and fielding meters because I knew it's was going to become frustrating very fast.
Honestly, I'd be willing to sacrifice the crowd to improve the players frame rate. I remember turning the crowd off in MVP Baseball because my graphics card was not good enough lol.
The players hair is bad on all systems. Not just the Switch.
