Anyone know if you can change pitch speed in DD? It is way too slow.

Only with difficulty level. There are differences in pitch speed between the levels, although it's small.

Wished coaches would argue more balls and strikes calls. Currently playing 21 and my pitcher clearly threw a strike down the middle and called a ball. It was a cut scene my manager was arguing the bad call. They need to add coaches real-life personalities.

After several hours on Tec Test.. My personal opinion is very disappointed. Accept for a couple of new features, It seemed like a copy and paste of 21. It did seem to play smoother. My biggest disappointment is the lack of info on franchise and obvious concern about Franchise mode. I am a franchise player and have been since MLB existed. I would like to remind SONY.. This game was BUILT on franchise mode.. Everything else was an add on. Franchise was the heart of this game. But obviously GREED and making lots of money on the side, after the game is purchased is now TOP PRIORITY.

I think co-op might be fun if you play online. I don't. Although I did try a diamond Dynasty game online. So I set up a game with the players MLB 22 issued me. It was not a very good team. So thinking I would play someone in a random match, I set the game up for rookie, beginner, to the simplest settings i could get thinking I would find someone like me just starting out. I selected find match. I was matched up with a player that had all 99 cards. Even his bench.. Every pitcher he threw at me had 100+ fast ball.. I was beat 10 to nothing in the first inning.

So I tried it again, thinking that was a fluke. The second player again was all 99 cards. How they achieved these cards in 1 day blew my mind. For those of you that find this fun. GOD BLESS YOU. I found nothing fun about it. This mode might actually be fun if they matched you up with equal teams and equal players. It's not for me, And I won't play it again. I doubt very seriously that I will purchase this game. Mainly because they did nothing to the game that interest me. I am in my 11th season in franchise in MLB 21, My 9th year in road to the show and although I do have a diamond dynasty team, I play the CPU teams and have never spent one cent on a card for my Cleveland Rockers.

For Online players, Co-op might be the future. But a 71 year old like myself who has been involved with BB all my life. It's all about Franchise. Building, recruiting, minors development, growth, That's what BB is all about..And MLB 22 doesn't offer anything that I don't already have in MLB 20, 21. Those that do buy it. I wish you the best.

I know it's a common thing to say it's all about "greed", but I don't think that's fair. Yeah, they make more money on things like DD. But even if they didn't, the truth is that most players play modes other than Franchise. DD has the largest player engagement, so they'd be dumb not to put most of their focus into that. Same goes for something like NBA2k. Madden has a little more engagement with franchise just because the seasons are so much drastically shorter. For us franchise players, it does suck, but it's the reality.

There's definitely a chance you would still experience something like this once the real game launches, but all of those 99 cards are available to everybody, they are in the packs in the shop. They are all free for the tech test.

I played a couple of games. It didn't seem any different from 20-21 for me. Which isn't a bad thing. Not sure if I will buy or not. If they fix Minute Maid lighting with the roof closed, I will. Because I couldn't play with it closed the last 2 years. Overall, the gameplay is still stellar.

I wish I could play more, but the watermarks are too much for me.

                  The watermarks are so annoying....LOL

I'll be buying Day 1, so if I can remember or if you can remind me, I'll post videos or pictures from Minute Maid Park with roof closed if you'd like.

I miss the old days of Operation Sports :(

...Thanks for the reply. But I do believe it's about money. When MLB was first created, It was all about franchise.. And they made millions of dollars from it through the years. So yes, Times have changed, But you don't forget the people who fed you. I'm not saying that it should be 100 % focused on Franchise although you say franchise players are a minority. There are far more people who play it than you think. And for Franchise players to be completely ignored so they can make money after the sale of the game is pretty crappy. If it was about the love of the game. They wouldn't be selling you extras for cash. I understand this is the way of the future but again Franchise players have been sent out to pasture and have been told, We don't need you anymore. We don't make money from you after we sale you the game. I love MLB the show, I think it was once the best sports game ever produced. As far as game play and other options available, It still is. I have spent way to much time playing it. Baseball is a big part of my life. But if you are a Franchise player like myself, I see no reason at all to purchase MLB 22 this year. Franchise would be no more than a roster improvement. And in all honesty, I don't see a fair way to play online from what i have experienced. To ignore Franchise completely, Not even mention it, is a slap in the face to those that bought this game throughout the years. This is just my personal opinion.. I will continue to play 21. This will be the first year i will not be supporting MLB the show

Re: MLB The Show 22 Technical Test Available Now

Hopped onto 21 to compare to 22 (since I haven't played since like December). First thing, all my settings got reset, which is weird. But it reaffirmed some things to me.

I don't know what the difference between "timing" in 22 and using "directional" without using the LS in 21 is, but timing is WAY more effective for me. Definitely felt like I had much better plate coverage. In 21 this year, I went from Zone to Directional back to Zone before finally settling on Pure Analog. I'm fairly confident I'm justing using button timing in 22. It feels great compared to the 21 options for me.

Pitching is so much better in 22. Helps the hitting feel better too, since it rewards patience. But I'm thinking that with sliders, I might even be able to get realistic walk numbers for my pitchers.

When I played the Tech Test it still felt like OFers had tons of range, but going back to 21, it's insane how much range OFers had in that game. 22 is much better. I'll still probably end up turning range down, but probably not as extreme.

I'm really excited for 22. I'd love to see franchise improvements, but I'm not really expecting it. #1 for me would just be smarter CPU roster and lineup management so I didn't have to do it for all 30 teams.

I also wish we could set the difficulty level
for fielding individually because all-star is my sweet point for hitting but I find fielding way to easy.
