Honestly, this is actually a decent amount of improvements. Franchise has been so starved that we really really really wanted something huge after all the years of nothing and broken logic. A cycle like this would be applauded more if Franchise development had been more consistent, because they’re definitely giving us something this year. All we can hope now is that the big changes needed aren’t too far off. Nonetheless the only console it seems to make sense to play MLB The Show is ironically Xbox because of Gamepass.

Will have to wait until the roster update after his first start most likely. I would think they probably already have his model made, they just have to wait to put it in the game.

It’s crazy they don’t count spring training for these types of players. Are there anymore players that have to wait for there 1st start this year?

Yeah, I was really hoping they’d finally nail down all the little parts of Ohtani this year so you could make it as close to real life as possible.

Really hoping there’s a big improvement in AI bullpen management while simming in franchise and lineup logic as well. Hopefully CPU “closers” and setup men get used a little more by their teams throughout the season. I can handle it being a little off in game because at least then I can switch to the other team (although tedious and i have to a lot) and make it realistic. With they way they do now in SIM there isn’t a 100% way to get it right.

I'm going backwards a few post on this but I wasn't able to touch on this yesterday: as far as M2O & Franchise merging into one mode, I don't see it happening. I felt more like M2O was brought in for those who wanted a quicker shorter season mode brought back. merging them together makes no sense as it alienates and maddens those who enjoy them for what they are. separate entities. I'd sooner expect Home Run Derby & Play Now to merge first before M2O & Franchise. and HR Derby & Play Now definitely aren't going merge

So I haven’t experience a lot of offseasons in this game. But like with Correa’s new contract, he has opt outs after every year. Will that be in the game or will it just be a 3 year contract?

If the modes are to merge, then one would have to think they would still offer the experiences the each mode brings, they'd simply be under one mode now, not two that compete for resources.

I already said it, but I don't see how having both MtO and Franchise simultaneously long-term makes any sense. To me, it only makes sense that MtO was built from the ground up and in a few years it will absorb the features of franchise mode and be the primary franchise mode offering the streamlined experience already in the mode, the more hardcore experience already found in franchise, and anything in between.

It seems odd to have two different modes that ultimately do the same thing competing for resources. We already see it being odd this year with them being innovative with free agency in MtO and not Franchise mode.

                      No

Opt outs/team option/mutual options are only available on the last year of the contract

I feel that long term we both lose out on the potential of each mode if they continue to have both competing for each other. If they combine, they can put all their resources into that one and have it reach all it’s potential and make it great. If they keep them separate, they have to share time with what they have.

That would be a nice feature to have but I’m sure that would be a lot of coding and logic to offer opt outs and no trade clauses.

my fear is if they merge them then it is goodbye to 30 team control and custom rosters. and the ability to play any game on the schedule. as M2O was made for 'casual' players' who don't want to play all the games without patience.

if they still kept those in I would be fine with the mode.

They just did an interview with a guy on twitter. They said Franchise mode is not going anywhere and they are not merging them. Came right out of the dudes mouth. He also stated least I took it this way that MTO things that people like can be put into franchise in the future. But he said 100% franchise is not going anywhere
