Anybody play on default hof, If so how are the strikeout numbers? I played '21 and my team strikeouts are way out of hand. Lead the league in strikeouts. Keep in mind, I play directional hitting. Also, how's the check swing? Is it more balanced this year or the same?

That was my only major problems with the game last year. I used tnk sliders and that helped me a lot, but I like to play default if possible.

Just finished the season with the cubs, I played every inning of every game. I WON the world series. The first time that has ever happened to me.

Wondering how the team budgets look in franchise for those who already have the game? How different are the budgets of lets say the dodgers and pirates? Thanks!

I think with Directional/Timing Hall of Fame is going to lead to a lot of strikeouts. Even with sliders, your contact rates on anything outside of the zone are going to be WAY too low. IRL, hitters swing at around a third of pitches outside of the zone and make some sort of contact on about 2/3 of those swings. In my testing, the best I could get was contact on around 40% and was normally closer to 1/4 of swings. So unless you have incredible plate discipline, your strikeouts are going to tend high on HoF or Legend using discipline.

Is the strikeout rate better with zone? I've used zone before I don't really have a problem with it but directional/timing allows me to concentrate on the strike zone a bit more. I'm pretty patient at the plate.

That would depend entirely on your skill at the plate. Zone tends to have much better coverage outside the zone compared to Directional, but the results are going to be much more user dependent. I personally suck with zone.

Player Lock

As a player locked short stop can you now apply a non scripted tag to a runner going into second base or does the CPU still jog into second base as if nothing is going on?

So at least on the PS4 version you CANNOT change uniforms in 30 team control except for whatever team is listed first on the calendar of Todays Games? I have every team set to my Profile and I can only change Uni's for Baltimore and whomever they are playing. No one else in the League.


Is this just a thing now?

I did ask this in the PS4 thread as well, I just want to see if there is parity in between the versions.

Put him in the 2nd place pitcher. He can’t do it if he’s the number 1 starter.

Manage mode…..you can’t call the specific pitch type but you can call things like high inside, low away, etc. It has a wealth of options and is really well done.

I figured out the problem.

If you go to Calendar and select View Todays Games and then select a game to play I can't change Uni's.

But if I go to a specific Team and Select View Organizations Games I CAN select Uni's.

This is new as I have always just used the Todays Games to select my team to play as I simulate those I am not controlling.

Just going to be an extra step I guess?

Yes.
You can call for hit and runs, take pitch, pitch around batter, sac bunt, bunt for hit, steal, change pitcher, sub fielder, just about everything. A wealth of things to keep you engaged.
You cannot customize, e.g., you want to pitch, or you would like to hit only.
When playing in franchise simply press MANAGE GAME.

It’s really a hidden gem.

Does anyone know (I haven't gotten deep enough in it to find out) if injured players at AAA come up eventually on MTO? I'm thinking Acuna, etc.
