Can anyone comment on the following:

1) how is sacrificing this year? I know in the past it seemed that every time a sac bunt got laid down, the player would try to get runner at second...and he was often out. It's almost like the runner animation slowed a bit as he was sliding into second, and a dp was usually turned. I don't mean rocket bunts either. Has that been toned down or corrected?

2) is CPU bullpen AI better this year? Do they take into account lefty/right matchups or is it just pretty much that they use whoever is next up in rotation list...long relief or not?

3) do outfielders charge the ball and come up throwing with more urgency?

4) are pitching animations largely the same? I always struggled with the easy going delivery rather than the ooomph required as they release the ball.

5) have any new slide animations made it in?

1) Sacrificing is a lot better this year. I have yet to see a runner thrown out at 2nd base, or an attempt to throw a runner out at second. I even had Yadier Molina on first and bunted the ball hard rights towards the pitcher and while he may have had a play at 2nd, he took the sure out at first

2) I think its fine and they do take into account righty/lefty matchups, at least they appear to. Its more difficult to plan that due to the 3 batter min

3) I honestly don't see a change from last year

4) They look the same to me but not something I focus on

5) I saw a slide at the plate that I don't recall seeing last year, but that is the only time a slide has caught my attention as being new/different

Don’t you guys feel the bat sounds like a whiffle ball bat lol? I find the sound is really poor overall I don’t understand the praise on audio

Since you’ve done an MTO already, maybe you can answer my question. Is the draft in MTO? I’m interested in doing one since it is multiple seasons, but if there’s no draft then I’m much less interested.

I think there's definitely a difference in the outfield play. The outfielders take far better angles to balls now instead of just running from Point A to Point B and hoping to cut it off. The perfect throw meter also makes a world of difference. The outfield play is the best it's ever been imo.

It shouldn't be making you quit the game. You should be able to just push a button to get back to the game. I would say hard quit the game and then turn off your console and turn it back on. See if this fixes the problem. I am not having that issue.

Keeps happening to me. I use quick resume and I get the network lost message, pressing A does nothing.

Crank the difficulty up to Legends, then you hear that nice "swoosh" sound.

Has anyone ran into issues where the PS5 will shut off randomly while playing this game? Basically to the point where I have to unplug the PS5 and plug it back in. Happened as well in NBA 2k this year. I can play the PS4 versions fine, but shuts off on the PS5.

I need some recommendations.

I'm about to play this series for the first time since the PS2 days. I'm an offline User vs CPU sim player, who cares most about the authenticity of the on the field gameplay/strategy with ratings being the strongest driver of outcomes.

I don't care about things like rosters, minor leagues, or prospects being accurate. I don't want to micro manage my team or the league.

What mode would be best for me now?

HDR is a system setting not a game setting. There is no fast / balanced setting. The game will run at a dynamic 4k and will downscale to whatever resolution you are playing at, meaning you can't do anything to get better frame rates.

I just started a franchise and I put Shohei Ohtani as my 2nd starter but I STILL can't hit with Shohei if he is pitching. He is not there to put as the DH. What am I doing wrong or did SDS mess this up?


Also, how do I start dynamic difficulty on rookie so I can get the achievements? It started me on All-Star and I saw I was on simulation so I put it to casual and it has me on veteran.

Anyone know if they plan on bringing out a conversion tool for importing a 21 franchise into 22? I’d buy it on PS5 if they did. They don’t seem to care about players who want to rollover a franchise anymore.
