Lol right. I don’t know how some of y’all can finish multiple seasons in a cycle without simulating. In fact I only completed 1 full 162 game season using quick counts ever in an MLB game.

        Hi jcar,

I see that you want to become a GM of my team. I have some questions for you before I consider you.

        1. What do you bring the table?
        2. What worked well from your previous endeavor?
        3. What sucked that you learned from and won't repeat here?
        4. How engaged are you? Am I getting a sit on your recliner and sim every game or do you pop-in and play a game to check on how things are going? If this is 30-team control, are you dipping your feet in other teams' waters - I want to make sure you're all in with me and not leave and go to another team.
        5. What are your thoughts on development vs. FA/trades?

        Sincerely,
        -Speedy

          Lol this is great [emoji106]

If I didn't think I would come across as a goofball , I would answer all of these.

If a team wanted a GM that is obsessed with the team he is controlling, then I'm their guy [emoji65]

I do prefer development over high priced free agents though, because I'm usually controlling small market teams.

ooh, I'd make for an excellent assistant to the general manager!

            1. What do you bring the table?
if we're talking dinner tables, through concentration, I can lower & raise my cholesterol at will

            2. What worked well from your previous endeavor?
I never smile if I can help it. showing one's teeth is a submission signal in primates.
when someone smiles at me, all I see is a chimpanzee begging for it's life.
also, use of the Injured List is for chimps. in the wild there is no IL. their IL is ''ow, I hurt my leg, I can't run. a lion eats me and I'm dead''
but I'm not dead, I'm the lion. you're dead

            3. What sucked that you learned from and won't repeat here?
the security at the last park was a joke. last season I brought a potato gun to the stadium in my duffel bag.
I sat at my desk all day with a rifle that shoots spuds at 60 lbs. psi.
can you imagine if I were deranged?

would I ever leave this team? look, I'm all about loyalty.
in fact, I feel like part of what I'm being paid here is for my loyalty.
and whatever team values loyalty more highly, I'm going wherever they value loyalty the most

            5. What are your thoughts on development vs. FA/trades?
I'm more into development through the farm system than free agency or trades.

and bonus babies are one of my many areas of expertise.

I have zero problem being a goofball.
and I'm almost positive that's a prerequisite for half the teams.
and if I can't be Speedy's GM or assistant to the GM,
maybe he could use an assistant to the travelling secretary.

I know I said I was going with the Marlins but after further deliberation.....the Brewers are primed for a bit of a rebuild and are the better choice for me ( for anyone who cares lol ) . Small market. I can lock up Burnes and Woody and Williams and rebuild the position players. Plus they haven't won a WS since 1969. Its a better story like for me than the Marlins.

Nice attempt with the A's. Seeing as in MLB the A's have not a single player under an MLB cotract for next year that is like a 5 year rebuild atleast.

Man it was a real challenge. 5 years minimum agreed.

Watching them unfold in my franchise - which is now in year 3 - I'd have to agree. Even in year 3, they're nowhere close to contention and they've actually made decent moves in off-loading older guys.

Agreed. Using 30 team control (which I know you don't do) you can sort of nudge rebuilding teams in the right direction a little bit so they're not just always terrible all season. But teams like Oak are really just barren of any real ready for MLB younger talent except for maybe 1 or 2 players.
