NBA2K is very good, but Madden and NHL have become a mess.

My friends and I play a ton of Chel but we all wait for the inevitable Black Friday sale.

I was really excited for the Jordan mode in NBA but I still waited for a sale just because I don't play it as much as I used to.

Madden...I played a few hours of the trial and had enough.

My biggest issue with NHL not to get off topic has been the lack of defensive scoring with shots from the point and teams not setting up on the power play.

But MLB always plays wel to me.

From a fundamental baseball perspective still to much to ask for and left to be desired. Example when in the history of the show has a CPU base runner showed enough awareness to actually return back to the bag in a botched play or rundown? Yeah a lot left to be desired. It’s 2023 so I don’t think baseball fundamentals will be integrated by now.

But if I had a billion dollars I wonder what kind of studio talent could a buy to make a sound baseball game in a decent amount of time? Hmmmmm!

From a fundamental baseball perspective still to much to ask for and left to be desired. I dont think its a money thing. I mean if you could make a baseball game with say 200 million dollars the game would be huge. No limits. But the amount of years it would take you to make back the money would be crazy.

You would literally have to put the game out and each year do no more upgrades other then rosters. Just update the same game year after year with just rosters that is how long it would take you to make a profit.

Yes and no, Yes it cant buy time. But it does cost money to have people develop the game. And if the cost of putting something in risks them making a profit they will not do it.

At the end of the day they are running a business. Take the new harry potter game hogwarts legacy for example. GAME IS HUGE blowing up. They tried and tried to get the quillage (however you spell it) in the game. None of the guys they had on team could do it without major issues. They inquired about having others come in and do it and the cost was too much. So they passed and its not in the game.

On the time thing however I would be very curious the opinion of the franchise community on this (I know how you and armor and them would feel based on the fact you both have no problem playing an older version if you enjoy it)

That being said

I wonder if MLB the show announced to the gaming world that they want to revamp the entire franchise structure. Make it better in every way. deeper minor league systems, more edits available, all the minor league parks etc But in order to do that based on time they would need a full two years 24 months. So they asked everyone if we did that would you be ok with playing 23 version of the game until 2025 knowing in 2025 you will have a complete revamp franchise

You think most players would be ok with that?

Something to make it feel way more like a living league when doing franchise mode. Highlights, daily rewind show. Anything that will help me feel like I am part of a bigger whole then just me. There’s a little bit with the radio type guy but it needs more.

The last 2k college hoops game was great with those things. The weekly thing and then the tournament show. Sonething to that extent.

Otherwise just stick with ps4 20. Played 16 for 4 years and then got 20 for cheap.

Otherwise the gameplay upgrades have not been enough for me to spend $60/70.

I think the better move for Sony would be to announce they’re doing a 24 month rebuild but leave the 23 version of franchise in 24 so we can at least play with updated rosters. I think it would be well received if they’re transparent about what they’re doing and don’t make us wait until February 2025 to tell us what changes they’re making

I’m really fine with the gameplay. Old things like bullpen logic, bunting, AI lineups … I’ve given up. It will never change. Graphics however I’m not giving up on. We need it. I have slight hope for uniforms at least. If not .. skipping for the first time in my life.
