Lol, I read the post you were replying to. I'd be interested to see his proof. There's no way to go an entire game and rarely see an assist in this game... I go through seasons in franchise and have the same stats as you posted in the picture. I've hit into 3 double plays in multiple games, effectively killing rallies. Balls hit to ss, 3rd base or 2nd base to put out to 1st base in every game. There's no way to not have this happen consistently to get assist stats.

I see way less ground outs this year, but I also see a lot more ground ball base hits that the fielder barely doesn’t get toLol, I read the post you were replying to. I love the gameplay on the field this year. Default AS+ settings with classic/directional is the perfect balance. All these threads here whining about how all these things are "broken" - I'm just not seeing it (I also don't use Quick Counts so...).Last edited by JoshC1977; 04-13-2023, 12:23 PM.Play the games you love, not the games you want to love.Comment

Agreed. So far the game is playing great for me, maybe the best it’s ever been.

I’m not whining. Telling you what I see. Good for you tho.Comment

That was not directed at you..I said "threads"...the impressions thread is the place for people to state their opinion (and you did so quite concisely).
Believe me, if I had something to say to you directly - you would know (I would have quoted you directly).Play the games you love, not the games you want to love.Comment

I saw what you said. Maybe a more diplomatic “complaining” would be better. “Whining” is no better than the retort “fan boy”.Comment

Re: MLB The Show 23 Impressions (Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5)
The game does a lot of things really well. But right now I'm 8-0 with the Braves (granted, that may be part of the problem). I usually play on All-Star, but I'm on HOF. I'm hoping I'm on a hot streak and the CPU starts to challenge me (or, I guess, I could try Legend).
Played the Padres in my franchise last night. Cronenworth crushed one in the first. Soto and Machado followed with hard-hit singles. I thought I was finally in some trouble, but I got out of it without allowing another run that inning.
I scored three runs in the first and three more in the second, and cruised to a 7-2 win from there. I've scored 7 runs or more in six of my eight games. Still a small sample size, but I'm starting to get concerned. Again, the game does a lot of things really well, but I need the CPU to start pushing back a bit more. I may try HOF on competitive before giving Legend a shot.Comment

What a shame you of all people being accused of "Whining", you being Mr. True Blue for the most part. I think we all have some element to criticize or discuss with concern as this is a discussion board. Being silenced while constructively discussing is not good collaboration.Comment

After some due criticism of the punchless CPU and a few other things in the impressions thread……..gameplay is BACK with the latest patch.! I’ve already given up 2 homers to the Padres and there is noticeable hit authority by the CPU only 2 Ks thru 6.!!! Getting my *** kicked never felt better.Last edited by KnightTemplar; 04-14-2023, 09:47 AM.Comment

Color me shocked. Not only am I dead last, but I’m 40 off the pace of 29th and 56 off the pace of 28th. I make it a point of emphasis when I pitch too, so, idk. Happy for you.Just one man’s opinion.
I don’t actually care about any of this.Comment

Re: MLB The Show 23 Impressions (Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5)
I play on AS…..no sliders…..always have…..classic pitching, auto baserunning, auto field, manual throw.
I know there are ebbs and flows in the game. What makes the game great.
I played 20 + games and I could NOT get the CPU involved AT ALL. I have an average ball club, average pitching. Always took the loses with the wins. Never “cheated”. Way too many foul balls, predictable Ks, weak grounders, a few fly balls, NO power by the CPU…none. There was no ebb and flow. I could throw the ball down the center of the plate….nada. I knew the outcome when I started, I.e., there wasn’t going to be much, if any competition. I was really disappointed, sent info to SDS, was ready to just give it up and go back to ‘20.
First game post patch, nothing about my approach to the game changed. CPU was smacking the ball between the lines, gave up 3 homers. I know what a placebo affect is. This was not.
I know SDS was made aware of something just not right, something just really off about the game.
If you were able to get the game to work for you….brilliant, but for years this game out of the box with no slider adjustments (for me) was dang near perfect. I was not about to spend my time slider hunting.Comment
