Anyone knows how to trade with all teams controlled in franchise???
I set up a trade and it doesn't go through, says other team has to accept it but I don't see where or how to do it as the other team.

Cardinals head into final weekend of season needing a miracle for the playoffs

The Cardinals (82-77) will need essentially a miracle to get into the 2023 postseason. After taking 3 of 4 from the Brewers and getting to within a game of the Phillies for the final wild card spot and within 1.5 games of the Cubs in the NL Central, the Cardinals have lost 6 straight to now find themselves runners up in the NL Central (Cubs clinched) and 2 games back of the Phillies with 3 games left on the docket.

The Cardinals were absolutely embarrassed in San Diego as the Padres had more hits and runs in the series opener on Friday night than the Cardinals scored the entire weekend series. After that, the Cardinals were off on Monday to travel to Milwaukee, still with a decent postseason chance, only to get swept by the Brewers. The Cardinals have scored a total of 6 runs over their last 6 games while giving up 45 runs. Not a receipe for success.

The Cardinals will be at home for the season's final weekend as they host the Reds. The Cardinals need a sweep and help from the Mets who host the Phillies.

Make sure you have a "CPU" profile to assign to the teams you're not directly using. If it's set to the same profile you use, and trades are set to Manual, then I think that causes the issue you're seeing.

I had a two game lead on the Phillies after winning 7 in a row, now I’ve dropped 7 out of 10 and just got swept by the Braves so now I’m 3 out of first and Atlanta is right on my heels for the first wildcard spot. My bullpen has been incredibly reliable the first two months of the season but now I can’t get through an inning without giving up at least one run

Cubs inch closer with another Pirates series loss

Oh oh. The Pirates NL Central lead continues to fall as the Chicago Cubs get closer and closer to taking the division lead. The Pirates struggles continued as they dropped three of four against the Miami Marlins who have held their own with their superstar Jazz Chisholm out for the majority of the season thus far.

Jazz had played just 19 games leading into the series against the Pirates. He suffered a broken hand earlier in the year and although it wasnt expected to be a season ending injury, it did knock him out of most of the first half of the season.

Jazz made his return in the Pirates series in game three where he had an RBi on a sac fly but went a combined 0-6 in the last two games of the series. That didnt matter however as his teammates picked him up and produced enough to win the series 3-1.

Jared Triolo of the Pirates did get his first major league homer (after 33 MLB games) in game three but Roansy Contreras was hit around to a tune of 5 runs as Pittsburgh dropped that game 5-3.

Mitch Keller pitched a great game four but his offense didn't back him up as they managed just two hits.

The end of the June doesn't get any easier as the Pirates return home for a three game series against the Padres (52-26/1st NL West). After that series, Pittsburgh will officially end the month as they start another three game series with the Brewers (38-39/3rd NL Central)

Cardinals season ends without a trip to the postseason

The Cardinals (84-79) finished the season with a series win over the Reds in Busch Stadium, but it wasn't enough to overtake the Phillies for the final wild card spot. The Phillies beat the Mets on Sunday to secure their spot and leave the Cardinals one game behind.

It was a whirlwind season for the Cardinals that saw them lead the NL Central Division for most of the first half of the season until they lost Nolan Arenado in London for the year. After that, the Cardinals would lose 12 straight games and find themselves looking up in the division. Inconsistent play in the 2nd half of the season, along with more injuries (Paul Goldschmidt and Ryan Helsley) and the Cardinals watched as a season full of so much promise went down the tubes.

The offseason should be interesting for the Redbirds. First and foremost, Oliver Marmol is not under contract, so the front office will have to decide if he deserves more time or if they want to move in another direction. Then there is the starting pitching staff where its expected that Adam Wainwright will retire, and Jordan Montgomery, Jack Flaherty, and Miles Mikolas are all free agents. The only arm that saw significant time in the rotation that is guaranteed to return is Dakota Hudson.

Then there is the depth issue for the Cardinals. Injuries really hampered the season and while Jordan Walker came out hot when first called up, he declined as the year went on. Nolan Gorman never was consistent and injuries had something to do with that. Magnerius Sierra and Justin Williams are decent, but they proved lackluster depth pieces in the outfield. Same in the infield where Edmundo Sosa and Paul DeJong did just enough to stay with the big league team, but neither really shined.

And finally there is the bullpen. While some arms proved to be reliable all season, Giovanny Gallegos, Ryan Helsley, and Alex Reyes, no one else made the coaching staff feel as though the game was surely in hand when turned over to them. Jordan Hicks faltered down the stretch, Zach Britton benefitted from being left handed, and Genesis Cabrera had significant homerun and control issues.

Its going to be interesting to see what the Cardinals do in the upcoming offseason and how this team will look heading into Spring Training of 2024.

Cardinals re-sign Jack Flaherty to 3 year deal

The Cardinals and Jack Flaherty have agreed to a 3 year $45MM deal. The 28 year old will stay in St.Louis thru the age of 30 where he will be eligible for free agency again. The Cardinals offered Flaherty a longer term deal, but he wasn't interested and wanted to take a shorter length so that he could hit free agency again and hopefully cash in. 2023 wasn't the best of season's for Flaherty who pitched a full season after battling injuries the previous few years.

Flaherty is the only arm from the rotation last year that has inked a deal with the Cards. Montgomery and Mikolas both chose to hit the open market while Adam Wainwright, as expected, retired.

Cardinals bring back Oliver Marmol

The Cardinals brought back Oliver Marmol giving him 2 additional years. The 31 year old managed the Cards to the postseason his first year, but missed out by a game this year, but significant injuries surely played a part. Marmol will be given the additional two years to see if he can not only return the Cardinals to the postseason, but get them back to the World Series.

Cardinals sign LHP Jose Alvarado to a one year deal

The Cardinals and LHP Jose Alvarado have agreed to a one year deal worth $7.5M. The 30 year old pitched for the Phillies last year appearing in 30 games. He carried a 2-1 record with 3 saves over 29 innings pitched. His ERA was 2.17 with a WHIP of 1.24 and racking up 39 strikeouts over those 29 innings of work.

Alvarado addresses a need for another left handed arm in the bullpen as the Cardinals didn't resign Zach Britton and aren't expected to pursue him this winter. Alvarado will join Genesis Cabrera, Zach Thompson, Tyler Alexander, and Anthony Miesicwicz as left handed options available for the big league pen.

Red Sox sign Shohei Ohtani

The Boston Red Sox signed the most coveted free agent on the market. Shohei Ohtani and the BoSox agreed to an 8 year $285MM deal. The 29 year old will all but certain play out his career in Boston.

Ohtani had another superb season even with missing more than a month due to injury. Ohtaini will bolster the rotation the lineup of the Red Sox as they look to return to postseason play in 2024.

Padres Notes:

The Padres who started off red hot in April cooled off significantly. The friars posted a 13-14 record in the month of May, including going 2-7 over the last two weeks of the month. They have fallen to a tie with the Los Angelese Dodgers for 2nd in the NL West
There is hope with the return of Michael Wacha from the IL and Nick Martinez going back to the bullpen there will be more consistency bridging the gap between the starters and closer Josh Hader. Martinez struggled as a starter in Wacha's absence but has been outstanding coming out of the pen.
Today the Padres announced they are sending oft injured LHP Drew Pomeranz to AA San Antonio to work on his mechanics. Pomeranz who's missed the most of the past 2 1/2 seasons has struggled with command, as he's given up 5 home runs in just 18.2 innings of work. This has led to a 5.30 ERA and several blown leads.
Juan Soto continues to put up MVP numbers. Soto is slashing .320/.406/.700 while leading the NL in homers and RBI.
Fernando Tatis (.267/.338/.576) seems to be suffering no ill affects from missing all of last season. He's tallied 13 home runs and stolen 7 bases while leading the NL in doubles with 15. His defense is steadily improving at his new position in RF and he's shown off elite arm talent while out there.
The Padres hope Manny Machado (.256/.309/.493) breaks out of his prolonged slump soon. While he does have 13 home runs and 42 RBI he's struggled mightily in the past 3 weeks and it's no coincidence the Padres have as well. The Pads go as Manny goes.
