The first thing I’m doing when I start a franchise is releasing Ruf.

More Diamondback updates when they patch the game. Multiple people complaining that the game keeps crashing in franchise mode on the ps5. I can not even get back into my franchise it keeps crashing. So now I wait to see if they address it

I have't had any issues with crashing on the PS5. At least not yet.

Yeah it seems not everyone is having it. But in the bugs thread a good 5 to 6 of us are. I can not even get back into my franchise. Any of the two files I try to load the one after my first game or the one in the middle of my second game in game save they crash every time. Not sure what the common denominator is

The DBacks(4-6) Avoid Sweep, Win Final Game

This series once again did not go well for us, but thankfully we will be done playing the Dodgers(7-3) for the foreseeable future.

Game 1 hurt to lose, with Kelley pitching really well, and us trading blows back and forth but an 8th inning run would be the dagger, 4-3 Dodgers win.

Game 2, started off amazing with a Pavin Smith 3 run HR in the first(More on him later), but we would give up 10 unanswered to lose 10-3. Drey Jameson really struggled once again, but noone ever wants to start their season with two starts against the Dodgers.

Game 3, the final made it seem not as close as it was. Once again, Ryne Nelson pitched awesome, with 10 ks in 5.2, but we left him in a tad too long which led to a 3 run homer. Ultimately we would never be able to respond and the Dodgers added on 3 in the ninth to seal it.

Game 4, Bumgarner might be an early candidate for the best pitcher on our staff. Once again we may have left him in a batter too long, with him giving up a 2 run homer in the 7th. But he went 6 strong with 2 ER and 7 ks. Pavin Smith crushed, and had 2 homers to go along with 3 RBIs, and he has been on a TEAR! Both him and Guerriel Jr have carried this offense so far, and we hope their production can somewhat continue.

Lourdes Gurriel Jr.:
2 HR, 5 RBI, 6 2B, .421/.450/.737

Next up we welcome the Milwaukee Brewers(5-4) to Chase Field for a 3 game set to round up our home stand.

Hey guys I am back with the Beavers for 23! I will be doing a complete rebuild and relocate the Baltimore Orioles and moving them to Portland Maine and bring back the Portland Beavers! We will be playing at Crosley Field which most resembles the actual ballpark. I have distributed players from the Orioles around the league for instance, Cedric Mullins is with the Mets, John Means with the Phillies, and Austin Hays is with Miami. I'll be using my own edited rosters, with adjusted potentials and positions. My team will be filled with all Free agents and some minor leaguers from the Orioles. I will be Quick Managing the majority of the games but also playing a bunch as well. Extra innings rule is on as well as quick counts. I'll be doing updates every month since there will definitely be a lot of moving parts. I'm going to try and keep this as realistic as possible no crazy trades or singings; waivers are fair game though. Hope you guys enjoy, this will definitely be a challenge!

2023 Washington Nationals

The Nationals (31-41) welcome the San Diego Padres (36-35) to DC for the first meeting of the teams in the 2023 season. Major losses for the Padres since last season include Mike Clevinger (signed with the Red Sox), Brandon Drury (signed with the Nationals), and Josh Bell (signed with the Royals). The rest of the pitching staff remains the same, and the team still has Manny Machado and Juan Soto (Fernando Tatis Jr. is nonexistent in my franchise, sorry). The team signed veterans Curt Casali, Whit Merrifield, and Wade Miley (currently on the IL), and they are still a good team, but they are currently fighting to stay in a Wild Card position as we enter the second half of June.

Game 1: Yu Darvish (7-1, 2.66) vs Josiah Gray (4-7, 3.61)
The Nationals went with a new look for their lineup in this one; moving Brady House to the lead off spot and Brandon Nimmo to the number seven slot. House has been struggling out of the nine hole and the club is hoping moving him back to the top, where he was last season, will get him going again. If not, it’s rumored he may be optioned in favor of Anderson Tejeda. Nimmo has been struggling in the lead off spot, so the switch might be welcome for everyone. Both Darvish and Gray pitched shutout ball for the first three innings, but the Padres ended that run when Manny Machado singled and Juan Soto crushed a two run shot to right center. Josiah Gray would end up going 5.1 innings, giving up the two runs on seven hits, no walks and eight strikeouts. The Nationals would mount a rally in the sixth; Luis Garcia, Yadiel Hernandez, and Gleyber Torres would all single before Brandon Nimmo hit a two out double to clear the bases. That would be the end of the day for Darvish, and Trevor May came in to relieve him. Keibert Ruiz followed with a base hit on the first pitch from May to score Nimmo and Kike Hernandez hit a two run home run to cap off a six run rally and put the Nationals on top 6-2. Victor Arano, Aaron Bummer, and Trevor Rosenthal would pitch the last three innings and keep the Padres off the board to give Washington a nice series opening win.


Game Two: Blake Snell (2-7, 5.70) vs Zach Davies (4-6, 3.27)
Blake Snell was a late scratch and was replaced by veteran reliever Craig Stammen, meaning this will be a bullpen game for the Padres.
Washington scored in the first after CJ Adams hit a leadoff double, advanced to third on a Luis Garcia groundout, and scored when Yadiel Hernandez hit a sac fly to center. The Padres would respond in kind in the second; Juan Soto doubled, advanced to third on a fly ball to right, and scored on a sac fly by Jake Cronenworth. They would get another run in the fifth; C.J. Hinojosa doubled and then Juan Soto hit a two out double off the wall. But Washington countered in the bottom half; Lane Thomas led the inning off with a walk and scored when Kike Hernandez doubled off newly entered reliever Trevor May. CJ Abrams followed with a single, and Yadiel Hernandez hit an RBI singled followed by a three run home run from Joey Meneses. That would chase May from the game, and the Padres would send in Pierce Johnson to end the inning. Zach Davies would leave the game for Washington after giving up a walk to Manny Machado to start the eighth. Colin Poche would enter to force Juan Soto to bat against a lefty in an effort to limit any further damage as he has been killer against his former club since last season. Soto would fly out and Jorge Alfaro grounded into a double play to end the eighth. Jackson Rutledge would get an inning of work in the ninth, and was able to work out of a small jam after giving up a base hit and a walk, and the Nationals took game two 6-2.

Game Three: Sean Manaea (6-3, 3.90) vs Cade Cavalli (3-7, 4.39)
The Nationals once again jump out to an early lead; Brady House led the game off with a double and scored just two pitches later on a Kike Hernandez base but up the middle. The Nationals went with another new lineup by putting Hernandez in the two hole, as he has been hot as of late. The Nationals would load the bases with just one out but Manaea would lock down and get out of the inning just giving up one run. The Nationals had a great chance to add on in the fourth when they loaded the bases with nobody out, but Victor Robles hit a ground ball to Manaea, who threw home for one out and the catcher threw to first for the double play. Brady House then grounded out to end the inning. The Nationals would respond by mounting another rally in the fifth; Kike Hernandez and Brandon Drury started the inning with back to back homers, Joey Meneses grounded out, then Gleyber Torres and Ildemaro Vargas singled and advanced on a wild pitch, Brandon Nimmo singled to score Torres, and Wilmer Perez hit a sac fly to score Vargas off of newly entered reliever Pierce Johnson. The Padres would have to use their tired bullpen for the remainder of the game. Cade Cavalli was great, pitching 7.2 innings and giving up 5 hits, a walk and three strikeouts. The umpires seemed to be against him all game, with several calls going against him, but he battled through and kept the Padres off the scoreboard. Kyle Finnegan would pitch the last 1.1 innings and the Nationals win this one going away, and with the win they will also win this series. Tomorrow’s game will be interesting as the Padres bullpen is exhausted already. Is a sweep in order?

Game Four: Nabil Crismatt (1-6, 5.63) vs Stephen Strasburg (6-5, 1.96)
The Padres scored with two outs in the first following back to back doubles by Manny Machado and Juan Soto. Jorge Alfaro would follow with a walk and Jake Cronenworth would single to score Soto. Cronenworth would lead off the fourth with a solo home run. The Nationals would finally get a run off of Crismatt in the sixth; Brady House led the inning off with a double, advanced to third when Luis Garcia grounded to first, and scored on a Yadiel Hernandez sac fly. Crismatt would leave after giving up the run, but pitched well despite his season stats. He gave up plenty of soft contact and forced the Nationals into two double plays. San Diego, and more specifically, Juan Soto, struck again in the eighth; hitting another home run against his former team. Trent Grisham added one more in the ninth when he hit a solo homer off of Jackson Rutledge. The Padres bullpen would combine to keep Washington from mounting any rallies, and San Diego avoided the sweep by winning this one 5-1.

The Nationals (34-42) played a great series, although they felt they had a real good chance for a sweep given the pitching matchup and the fact that the Padres bullpen was pretty well worn out from the first three games of the series. Nonetheless, Washington took three of four from a potential playoff contender and has a more favorable schedule in the coming weeks. They will start tomorrow with a three game series against Colorado, who is having a decent season going into the series at 36-38. The Rockies already took two of three from the Nats back in April in Coors field, and it should be a good series.

Hey guys! Glad to be back and ready to rock some franchise!

I got about 6 seasons in with my Cubs last year, and I always look forward to this thread and seeing everybody's franchises at work.

I usually keep a word document to summarize my franchise progress month to month, but it always got a bit too "wordy" and I decided to do something different this year.

I am going to do video diaries to go along with my franchise. The PS5 capture system is awesome and allows me to break everything down without having to type a novel.

I chose the Mariners this year and am excited to dive in. I have posted my first video diary which breaks down my settings, roster and outlook for the season. I am mainly keeping these for myself, but I'd love for anyone else to follow along if interested. I'll upload a video for each month I finish in the season. Opening day is next. Good luck everyone!

I've had horrible rosteritis for years in sports games, MLB being the worst. Last year was the best I have done, but still restarted and messed up everything I had going post TDL. this year, I have a goal to start with the Mets opening day and play through a franchise until EOS in real life (see how far I can get).

I'm going to be kicking it off Thursday AM when I am off before the games start (and with hopefully updated correct opening day rosters). Cannot wait. 23 feels great btw, and hitting a home run with David Wright almost made me cry haha

Played through 8 games in my Cubs chise and Hosmer has been killing it for me so far. Now Wisdom and Mancini...not so much!
