Can someone explain to me why a stadium is empty but in the 8th inning if the home team is down by a run or two it increases and almost full. I understand when the home team is loosing it will decrease but why increase in the 8th and 9th innings?

Re: Franchise Attendance?
I usually go by the game log after the game. If you look at it during the game it gives the current attendance at the time. After a rain delay or blow out, you’ll see the number lower. Or in Dodgers Stadium, you see the number go up as you play as people arrive late. But after the game is over, the number goes back up. So I assume that is the official attendance.
Oh wow, I never knew that number in the game log changed.Atlanta Braves

Re: Franchise Attendance?
Yeah I just drew 25,000 for a Padres vs Mets game on a Tuesday night and then a Wednesday afternoon game with the same two teams draws 40,000 the next dayComment
