Business management was dropped back in the ps3 era. MLB12 was the last one to have it. IIRC there hasn’t been a significant change to franchise mode in the entire ps4 era. Minor improvements year over year but nothing that will blow your mind.

That sucks I won't be going back that far. Really need one on the ps4 to play with my son. Any QoL improvements like marking players in drafts to help keep track of lower stat guys for later rounds, sorting by stats? View an entire league roster or FA in roster menu instead of going through trading to find and view them?

2015 has the worst menus I have ever dealt with navigating.

Correct. You won’t be able to access the vaults to download rosters, logos, or anything else to use in new franchises, but all the offline modes themselves will still work fine forever.

As an aside, I breathe a sigh of relief when sports titles go offline because it usually means the end of annoying pop ups trying to drive me to micro-fueled modes.

I read that WWE 2k24 will be released next Spring on PS4 and Xbox1 as well. Hopefully that means MLB 24 The Show will be on PS4 next Spring as well.

I don't know about that. I don't see any reason to think what 2K does means Sony will be influenced and follow suit.

My players are available for The Show 20
My focus is on the old teams.
I had all the players at one time until a electrical storm took out my PS4 and PS5.
Most of the old players are there.
Please download before the vault is shut down on January 5th.

I criticized some people on this forum who said 20 is better than 23, but I’m here to make a public apology. Ever since I ended GamePass I’ve been back on 20, and there’s a lot I like about it.

- Matt is better on PBP than the new team. I have to mute those two on 23. Always enjoyed Matt, was never in favor of replacing him.

- MLB Network beats the generic “national” theme on 23, and 20’s “local” theme is the cleanest in series’ history.

- Pitching is refreshingly harder. Yes, the same 2 money pitches that have been in the game forever are there, but no so automatic as with 23 where I had to make a house rule to not use them on 2 strike counts.

I didn’t have to tweak anything. All-star base on both sides of the plate has given me realistic stats through 60+ games. I’m under .500 yet it’s a lot of fun.

I do miss custom stadiums. I can’t bring myself to play as my prospects in those generic parks. Can’t have it all, I suppose.

The Show 20 in my opinion plays a much better game of baseball.
The AI has much better skill at the plate, I don’t strike out 15 batters a game like I did with 23 and yes I’m on quick counts. I still have SOS to listen to. The amount of historical rosters are amazing and yes there is a very recent current roster that is available.
There is a lot to like about 20.

There is a lot to like about 20.

I just put ‘23 aside and went back to ‘20. I want ‘24 to feel really fresh as right now ‘24 will probably feel a lot like ‘23 when it’s released. ‘20 is absolutely solid and I’ll be able to see some ‘new’ old stuff along the way. SOTS a plus, quick counts aren’t FUBAR. The game also looks beautiful on the PS5.

The only plus side on 23 that it no doubt has a little smoother graphics and the running game is better.
They are missing a real opportunity with stadium creator unless your into dinosaurs, giant insects and destroyed buildings. I fear that it will just disappear with time and or just lay dormant.
Also I think 23 is easier. I have been playing on Legend with AI sliders turned up some and on 20 I play HOF default.

Seems like SDS thinks they must come up with a new mode every year. I’m probably wrong, but this dinosaur related stuff….a new Jurassic Park mode for the kids?

I wish they’d stop. There’s stuff that really needs some fixing.

I bought 23 on sale and asked for a refund an hour later. Immediately I was able to strikeout almost every batter and I absolutely despised the sound of the ball off the bat.

I played on All Star default sliders. I usually find AS+ matches my skill level so maybe it was a bit easier....but after sinking so much time into 20, 21, and 22 it was clear as day to me that I didn't need 23.

For those who enjoy it. Awesome! I hope 24 is a great game too. But unless a newer version blows me out of the water I'm comfortable with 20, 21, and 22. I think 22 gets close to 20, but not quite. And I think 21 is a lot better than many do around here.

Either way, with the 19 and 20 servers going down in a couple days....goodnight sweet prince.
