Thanks for all the memories and the incredible Show 20 rosters we've loved all these years.

You will truly be missed. God speed.

      Oh no!!!!!!

I sold my PS4 about 6 months ago & have been playing PS3 in my free time. The plan was to buy a PS5 for Christmas but real life events/expenses hindered that. I’m actually going today to buy a used PS4 and only for MLB 20. I checked here first and find this!!!!!!

So just to check…. Is there any way to get some of these great rosters?? This was the GOAT. RIP

Checking this randomly and missing the shutdown by like 6 days is the worst part!!!

Ok, which one do you guys recommend next?

21, 22, or 23? I haven’t played beyond 20, that one was so good. I’m sure there’s not many historical rosters out there for those.

Nothing can compare to 20, BUT of those three, no doubt 23 is the right call.
81, 84, 85, 94, 98 and 70's all decade roster sets are top notch (plus more in the works).

The UI is clunky and the tool isn't perfect, but DL'ing all the classic era stadiums is a nice touch when playing classic seasons.

Gameplay/graphics/sounds all better than 20, BUT hitting not so much. It isn't bad, but very unforgiving, and hits are really earned in 23. Personally, I like that.

If any of us can find a way to better unlock the cpu's offense, this game might get into A- territory. Right now, I'd give it a solid B- or B.

I enjoyed 21,22,23 well enough, and I'm sure I'll get good mileage out of 24, but MLB 19 Show is the one that I return to time and again November to March(because of bullpen rules and 25 man rosters). 20 was really great too, I can understand the appeal it had for people who stuck with it. But I won't be returning to 21-23 for another go around anytime soon, if ever.

Re: MLB THE SHOW 19 & 20 TO BE DECOMMISSIONED JANUARY OF 24

If you have no other option get 23, I personally was typing out of aggravation of the crashes, of trying to download and create uniforms, I have settled down and will carry on.

The stadiums really do make the difference where I thought it didn't. Gameplay is fun to me, right now classic roster wise I don't know what's in the works, but I have 1984, 1985, 1991, 1994, 1998, 2007 and Sensational 70s, plus current Era.

Until armor releases his sliders I've used TNK's and found them to be really fun.

The leg work is in the uniform creation, once you get past that, you'll be fine.

Good news most uniforms can be made and stadiums are pretty spot on minus rhe stadium ads, and even though artificial turf technically is not in the game, the way these stadiums are made it kinda looks like it in some.

You won't regret getting 23, can't say what 24 will bring but as armor said, if it doesn't really have that huge wow factor I can't see myself purchasing.

The negro leagues story was cool, and I'm sure they'll be adding on to that, because they said they would when they first introduced it, but that won't be enough for me personally.
I stream a variety of video games for relaxation and fun.

There is artificial turf available in the editor, but not old school base cutouts, just a traditional diamond like Toronto has now. AFAIK selecting turf makes no difference to the ball or player physics, it’s all visual.

Still have franchise going in 16 and was thinking about
trying out 20. My question is if I am to use default rosters on 20, isn't default rosters on 20 the one with the player options not being correct and this was fixed in later releases of roster updates, which i wouldnt have access to now? If this is accurate, any suggestions to overcome this?

I believe the player option issues was mlb 21

                        3. Options are incorrect/too few. This causes players to have to go through waivers when they should be eligible to be optioned to minors. Affects many prospects.
**would require a roster update. Hopeful a patch to make options editable. Players that have 5 plus mlb experience cannot be optioned in real rules without agreeing. If editable could remove options for all players with 5 plus years experience.
