What happened to the series
I remember pre all this DD that this games gameplay was the gold standard. When is the last year that offline gameplay was enjoyable? I play 23 on legend and the gameplay mechanics are horrendous…lots of talk on these boards about pitching being too easy…100 fact…even on legend. When is the last show that played a great game on all star difficulty? 23 legend difficulty is like pro back when they focused on the offline gamer.Tags: None -
Re: What happened to the series
What are the odds that Douevenbench913 and Doyoueven85 are just bros and not the same person?
On that note, I can't shame those who play DD one bit, but once their focus shifted away from some of my biggest concerns with the series, my focus shifted away from this game series as a whole. I think I last bought '20, and before that maybe '17.
I'm glad they have Xbox users now as well I guess, but I haven't seen the game evolve much since then either. They also haven't branched out from their last-gen brethren really.Samsung PN60F8500 PDP / Anthem MRX 720 / Klipsch RC-62 II / Klipsch RF-82 II (x2) / Insignia NS-B2111 (x2) / SVS PC13-Ultra / SVS SB-2000 / Sony MDR-7506 Professional / Audio-Technica ATH-R70x / Sony PS3 & PS4 / DirecTV HR44-500 / DarbeeVision DVP-5000 / Panamax M5400-PM / Elgato HD60 -

Re: What happened to the series
I had found a balance of getting CPU to be dangerous on legend by maxing out their contact and timing sliders. Initially it was great as they were hitting and scoring runs, but recently their offence is once again a non factor. I swear the patches do stuff under the radar … can find a balance any longerComment

Re: What happened to the series
Well that's just not true. Some disagree, sure. Everyone plays a little differently and is probably going to see different results, but there aren't "so many" complaining about the gameplay.
I think the only thing I'd point to as many people with a similar complaint would be the DD guys who think every solid hit should have a positive outcome for them.Comment

Re: What happened to the series
I don't believe the series has taken steps backwards, but I think there's an argument to be made that the series doesn't feel as if it's taken any meaningful steps forward in a number of years. At least not in the areas that most people on this forum are looking for, which I understand is the minority overall.Last edited by beau21; 10-17-2023, 05:01 PM.LG 77CX OLED / Sonos Arc Soundbar / Xbox Series X / Apple TV 4KComment

Re: What happened to the series
Maybe I have misread things, but it was my feeling after perusing Armour and Sword's '20 sliders thread that many have gone back to '20 not only because of the availability of year-to-year saves but also because they prefer the game play.Comment

Re: What happened to the series
The gameplay is definitely not what it used to be. I was going to start updating an off-season roster and then decided to just jump into a game (Rangers Phillies) and I thought the same thing about it not being the same. To the point where I don't even want to waste time updating the rosters.Comment
