Speak for your self lol
I am 48 years old so I also grew up in that era and before that and have pretty much played all baseball videos games from the beginning. And even way back then it always upset me that the baseball games could not look way more life like!
The 2 things I care about the most are Gameplay and Graphics and the gameplay is already more then good enough which is why I and a lot of gamers like me keep complaining about the graphics.Last edited by Cubfan; 01-31-2024, 07:03 AM.MLB: Chicago Cubs

As long as we still have rebrands, stadium creator and the ability to edit/import/export players, we will continue to make bada$$ projects.
I just wish it was all easier to share. More accessibility and easier to set up for the average player. Then maybe our crew could become rich and famous like all those DD streamers with the stupid look on their faces in their thumbnails.
I also at the very least want the no-flap helmet. Thanks!Comment

One video I saw had Vlad doing the same pose from the Switch screenshot. His locs looked a little better than years past. If anyone finds this, feel free to screenshot it. It looked pretty much the same otherwise. Can’t see why they would’ve had a 2023 model on a 2024 short clip.Comment

I hope the graphics will improve some especially like I've seen mentioned the grass, dirt make artificial turf look like actual artificial turf on stadium creator, player models needs a major upgrade, new hairstyles, put ear rings, tattoos, things of that nature in it. Personally I'd love to see editable stats been on my wishlist for well over a decade now, since they added editable service time, contracts I see why they can't add editable stats, nothing like booting up 1984 with Pete rose at 0 hits in his career. But no year to year is my main pet peeve. Let's us transfer them over even if we had to import them over one by one like we had to do for a couple years , yes some of the faces turned generic from ps3-ps4 while doing it I say so what it's way better than starting over and over and over and over.

Man I am hoping and praying for you guys. That roster import feature we had for one cycle (20) was so clutch and is the primary reason we had the biggest collection of classic rosters ever.
Editable stats would be huge!!!!
I will be tuning into the twitch previews to see if anything was done on the gameplay, presentations, creation suite and franchise front. It's all I have interest in.
Also a franchise customization suite similar to NBA2K23/24 would be a gamechanger.
Maybe? Hopefully? Remains to be seen.

For sure id do back flips if we got Y2Y back this year alone will be like 9 rosters I don't wanna start over again would love just to reupload and move forward to a new project. Good news is today that stadiums will transfer over so won't have to recreate them.

You can't really blame SDS for under promising and under delivering compared to our hopes and expectations each year. I mean, as many of you said, it is the same lament year after year from us. They have their development and marketing plan, and yes they already know what MLB 25 will and won't be.
I've learned not to get my hopes up anymore for this title. I didn't get 23 and I'll wait on 24 to see how it turns out. Previously, I was a day 1 buyer.
It's frustrating because we all can see just how stellar this title could be with graphical updates, carry over saves, etc. Our wish list is not the same as theirs. We have to learn to live with the way the title is going these days...the same with Madden, NHL, etc. Or not.
We all see the possibilities. SDS I am sure does too. They just choose to sink their time and budget into areas of the game that most, not all, of the folks on this forum find frustrating because it seems it is done at the expense of the items we as users want to see addressed. That's not saying that they don't make improvements year to year. It just seems those improvements often leave many of us scratching our heads wondering why certain aspects that are so obvious can not be fixed (Bullpen AI for example).
I hate it too. 24 may wind up being a great game. It may be leaps and bounds better on the field than 23. On the other hand, it could look and "feel" the same as 23 with some slight improvements. That's not what many of us are looking for at this point. Don't know yet. Which is why I may or may not wind up giving them my money.
And a shout out to all the roster makers...I don't know how you do it year after year after year...so daunting and soul sapping. I give you guys credit...I know how hard it is.Comment

100% Agree but...look at the bright side; it's a great way of ensuring your block/ignore user list is up to date...Play the games you love, not the games you want to love.Comment

Re: No Y2Y Saves and No Pre-Launch Tech Test for MLB '24
Overhauled bullpen and lineup logic, expanded rosters, an overhauled progression/regression system where scouting and developing players is more complex and a larger part of the gameplay loop. This is what franchise mode needs for me to actually continue to stick with this game long-term. I've loved this series for years, but it has become the slowest moving annual sports title out of all the major American sports.
I get graphics aren't everything, but the way the graphics have nearly gone untouched since the PS4 launch basically sums up the progression this series has had as a whole over that time. Yes, the gameplay on the field is great and has been for a long time. That used to carry more weight. It's 2024, games are expected to have more depth to them. Unfortunately, The Show hasn't. I can boot the game up and enjoy a great game of baseball on the field with good presentation, but it does nothing off the field to keep me coming back each day wanting to continue my franchise.
Never do I expect this game to have everything off the field that Out of the Park does like historical seasons, but having the CPU manage their bullpens logically, having them set up lineups better, and having the scouting and development of players play a much larger role in a sport where scouting and development is literally everything are not huge asks. As with every year, I'll be anxious to see what they've done to the game. Hopefully this is the year they finally make actual progress in franchise mode because we've been waiting a decade for that to happen at this point.“No one is more hated than he who speaks the truth.”

I don't want anyone to think that graphics don't matter to me, but someone taught me at a young age that if there is a problem you have right now, is there anything you can do in that moment to fix it?
Nope.
I have zero control over their choices.
I do feel that 25 will be the big step up in graphical terms. The ps4/XB1 era is coming to an end which will force gamers to upgrade, or be left behind. Studios can finally push these consoles to the edge.

The fact that the few FAQs includes a FAQ that MLB 24 will not support Y2Y saves says a lot in and of itself. It shows that SDS understands that it is an important and much desired feature which is still not being reimplemented.
