Colors pop more and for the most part things look crisp and smooth. Now I just wish they'd get with the times and add uniform physics like the NBA 2K series...of course I probably wouldn't get them on my Series S so...yeah.
I guess it's in baby steps for next year OR when the ps5 pro and whatever the Xbox version comes out with this fall, there are subtitle jersey physics you'd have to be looking close for but the sleeves move just a little.
You can see it better in replays either live game or when you go to the highlights and look yourself. Nothing like mlb 2k back in the day but like I said "Baby Steps".

It is beyond time for the show to update their graphics. They are getting passed by a majority of sports games now.

*Also, those pitching animations and the whip/force they use to throw looks incredible. Actually looks like they are pitching and not tossing like in the show*

This is so true, I also like the umpire animations. September 19th is the date to mark in calendar.

I'm sure I'll get roasted by some, but other than the rain puddling on the field I can't tell a lot of difference. It may look slightly better(debatable) but it's not a big enough leap to get all worked up over. IMO.

The stadiums and the surrounding areas look much better and more detailed and the night time lighting looks really good. Other than that I'd tend to agree with you. The player models and animations aren't that much better than MLB The Show.

You are right, the difference is not really noticeable because the file compression on OS is ridiculous. If you want to see real 4K images check out the website.

You will see thin hair in the faces of players. So much for details.

I watched the video on Youtube. I'm sorry it's minimal at best.

I bought this a few years ago.

                      1. The presentation was an A+.
                      2. The cut scenes A+
                      3. Batter walkups, etc, same.
                      4. Animation were very well done,
                      5. But once the ball was put in play….very stiff animations.
                      6. I never saw a throw from the outfield off line,
                      7. I used a translation guide a fellow made and….ooof…it was still extremely difficult to understand. Made me put it down.

The newness is what is striking. I thought the overall presentation was better than The Show……gameplay took a hit tho.

It would be great to have an English version tho. I would definitely play it.

NOTE: The blocky shoulders on many players are worse than The Show.

The pitcher/batter animations looked nice, but those fielding animations look a little off to me. I know it’s a totally different team that works on it at Konami, but they always used to get the presentation and gameplay spot on for PES. Since they moved everything to eFootball, it’s been a disaster.

I only bring that up because this game looks great, but it looks like there are some tweaks to gameplay that still need to be made before they release it.

Edit: Also I’m looking at the uniforms, while the models are slightly better than The Show, the textures don’t match the great work they’ve done for faces and stadiums/lighting. Curious to see how it looks in game.

Wow look at the batters box:

It’s a thing of beauty, while we’re still dealing with some breadcrums here and there [emoji23]

I mean 3 years of developing a new engine and everything is something The Show simply cannot do (I wish sport games would release every 2 years) so they have to go with babysteps but still I hope we’ll finally see some real progress in the graphics department next year. But that’s only going to happen if they drop the last gen consoles [emoji1694]
