Player card awards and Prospect Promotion Incentive may seem small, but I was hoping PPI would be added when introduced and I’ve been waiting for player card awards tracking.

So those are good along with the improvements to draft logic.

However there’s a lot of additional things I was hoping for (editable coaches/managers, expanded rosters, and expanded ST rosters) that again are at the very least a year away.

Presentation looks impressive so waiting to hear more on it and watch gameplay but man I’m not all in on starting over again as I was hoping to be after franchise news.

If I didn’t have the roster project I would have sat this year out like I did ‘21.

So in summary:

A feature to play the game less

They updated amateur draft logic

You can see player awards on a player card (Finally)

You can start a franchise with injuries (which is already a thing if you just manually injure players)


Honestly would say I’m underwhelmed but I figured this was coming since Franchise had hardly any marketing. Another bummer of a year for franchise IMO.

Good question. I have a long list but some key features I feel like are overdue:

-Customizable draft classes

-Expanded Rosters (as you mentioned)

-Dynamic Progression (tired of every prospect developing)

-Dynamic Regression (regression is TERRIBLE)

-Player transaction history on player card

-AI Roster Logic (This one is tough but man there are realllly bad moves the AI makes)

-Custom rules (Like 2K)

-More advanced stats. OPS+, wRC+, Batted Ball data etc.

Honest question, because I love what you do with this game, outside of expanded rosters as I know that is what "everybody" wants, what more did you expect from Franchise?

I'm begging for the ability to set ticket prices, do promotions. MLB has the perfect sport to have an owner aspect to the mode. And they used to.

I want to be a team and maybe go over the tax threshold and if I perform well it pays off and if I miss the playoffs I want my owner to slash my budget.

I want the ability to be an expansion team and grow an organization. Making money and slowly becoming a bigger market team over time.

These are things other sports games have. This is just one side of it.

Heck, at this point I just want an international free agent signing period. I want the Yamamotos and Ohtani's to bid on. International players are still drafted in the regular amateur draft.

There is SO much they could do.

Definitely went by quick, I actually appreciated the things they mentioned by was less than I thought it would be.

I’ll be starting off with the game and a new franchise and I know I’ll love it, tho I could see potentially maybe a break from next year without some more stuff. With gamepass I essentially had to restart every franchise anyway, but may just buy this copy if I enjoy where the franchise is and keep this one going.

Welp, I sincerely hope they have been working on overhauling franchise the last few years and we get to see the fruits of their labor next year. I can't imagine they are actually content with the state of the mode, but the lack of big changes to the mode indicates they are.

I remember 5+ years ago saying I didn't like the way this series was trending. I wish I was wrong with what I saw back then, but the signs were there that the series was stagnating. Here we sit with the series continuing to have each new release featuring less new content than a lot of free patches or DLCs include for other games I play regularly.

I used to get multiple seasons deep each year because of how well the gameplay carried the game. And baseball is my favorite sport, yet The Show is the sports title I play the least each year. If it weren't for GamePass I'm not even sure I'd have played the last two releases, or this one. It's just disappointing what the series has become to me. I wish I could enjoy it as much as others here do, but I simply cannot.

So the little bit of written franchise advertising was in general mentioning a " deeper mode "type thing wasnt it? i really dont see what that is...the whole newly worked draft combine thing is only in road to the show right? or is that also in chise? i will say i like the walk and K % on the newly pitching stats screen now

I wish every team had an “identity.” Would love to see teams focus on pitching, speed, defense, aggressive baserunning, etc. every team drafts, plays the same.

THIS.

Especially in team building. No teams have an identity whatsoever.

I’ve seen a 63-99 Oakland Athletics team sign 34 YO Chris Sale to a 7 year $150m deal.

I’ve seen that same Oakland Team trade away prospects for Aging veterans despite having a team OVR in the low 70’s.

Teams have no direction. Which is why I 30 team control to keep things somewhat normal.

Well, just watched the video. I'm pretty excited for next Friday. The game looks and sounds fantastic to me.
