Even the pitch clock addition is a swing-and-miss. I'm glad they at least tried but the end result from what I'm seeing is the same thing that was mentioned on OS last year before 23 was released that a video game like The Show doesn't need it. I think what I'm liking best as far as differences between 23 and 24 is the PPI (Prospect Promotion Incentive) in Franchise. It's early yet so I still expect to find more differences I like. Kingdome wasn't it either, I didn't care for the jagged infield lines from my hitting cam. I spent $137 American, and tho I'm personally not disappointed, I can easily see where others would say it wasn't worth it for them.

Had my fantasy baseball draft today with my buddies from middle/high school.

I’m so juiced. 1 more day before pitchers and catchers report and I take some BP in practice mode. Once they have the first roster update in April, spring training will start in my Dodgers franchise!

I have been a day 1 buyer since 17, but this year I won't be, they haven't done enough to warrant a day 1 purchase and I may not even get it at all even at discount

          Out

I’m also officially out.. just nothing I’ve seen thus far can justify the purchase IMO

I have been waiting but after talking to Knight and reading reviews I will be in on Tuesday. It sounds like AI hitting is better and K’s are down although Stadium creator sounds like a disappointment. I really hope that this isn’t one of them add-ons that the grass just grows up around like uniform creator has been.

I was out till my girlfriend surprised me with an early copy of the game today, I legit was not gonna buy it. But i gotta admit the game looks absolutely great on my 4k gaming monitor, specifically the lighting in night games. Yes the dirt and grass suck and yes we need new player models but the Lighting and faces on the players are a HUGE difference. I don't know if it's because I have a 4k/120 monitor but the videos Sony showed us was no where as great as what I saw on my monitor tonight.

Yeah doesn’t need a pitch clock hitting the pause button negates that’ anyway. It’s probably more a online users thing

Not really, online has had a pitch clock for years. And almost everyone pitches at nearly as fast of a pace as possible.

The pitch clock would be fine in franchise if it also affected the cpu.

I used to wish in vain for the “good old days” to return. Then I stopped wishing and started having fun by actually playing those old games again.

I’m so out on modern Show that I cancelled my GamePass months ago. No interest anymore.

I like to fall back to MLBTS19 from October to March. As good as it gets.

                            Waiting, albeit briefly.

Having seen a few RTTS streams over the weekend--and, seriously, WHY IN THE H-E-DOUBLE-BASEBALL-BATS WAS THIS NOT LEADING THE HYPE TRAIN--I've been surprised and impressed.

Better off-field environments, moving the camera around in them, and just, better scene setting and world building overall, does put a little extra oomp in the oomp-paw-paw. I wouldn't call what I've seen so far revolutionary or anything, but it is DEFINITELY a solid, and welcome, step in the right direction that this long-timer can applaud.

Awful time, then, for my glasses to break. Once I can see clearly again, I'll check if the bank can stand me enough for the Standard Edition.

                              Re: In, out or waiting?

I had a moment of weakness tonight, but I'm still holding out.

I'm going to stick with Strat-O-Matic Baseball (both cards & dice and Windows) for the time being.

I know I'll bite when college football drops, but I'm not tempted in the least by Madden or NHL, and FIFA is a game that I only buy every few years nowadays. I'm not an NBA fan and haven't been for almost 30 years, so 2K is not even something I ever think about.

We should be light years ahead of where we are with sports video games, but, of course, the combination of exclusiveness and Ultimate-Team-type modes have destroyed what could have been.

I want Sim and the old school games like Strat-O-Matic are where I can get it.
