slightly off topic, but slightly not ... I'm thinking of going back to 23 also. but bcos on legend, default - sliders; i am dominating with my pitching. as the A's.

just finished a 4 game set in may against Yankees, and lost the first game 1-nil. Then won 2-1; 4-1 and 3-1. I'm currently 15-7 with the lowest era in the majors. the CPU attack is doing nothing.

Ross Stripling and Alex Woods both took no hitters into the 7th inning at yankee stadium before they ran out of stamina. it's pretty wild.

I'm not sure what i can do to get more realistic pitching stats, and more challenging/ realistic gameplay.

Yup it’s really why I stopped playing these games for the most part.. sucks cause hitting is great but pitching is far too easy

While they fixed the strikeout issue, I find there is still too much soft contact on mistakes made. The CPU should burn you more on those meatball or mistake pitches you leave out over the plate, especially if you follow a similar routine of where you place pitches.

one hundred percent ... i think pitching/ cpu hitting needs an actual engine overhaul. bcos, I been playing with sliders and can't seem to find a sweet spot. it's either too op user pitching or too op cpu hitting.

There's a bigger issue here than low AAV. The entire budgeting in general is straight booty.

My team is the Dodgers, can you guess how much I am in the red because they don't account for the Ohtani and Hernandez deferrals? Ohtani gets paid $46 million dollars. I literally have to manipulate my budget so I can make money in my franchise when I will do it. I don't want to do it, but I have no choice. I rarely make trades, but how am I going to sign my players that are free agents or sign any for extensions?

They need to revamp this trash in the next iteration because I am getting tired of this. Like someone else said, the next "new" feature in 25 is going to be free agent logic is not going to sit well with me LMAO. We need to be able to trade more than three people, we should be able to pay someone like Soto 700 million if we want.

They just got rid of the you can pay for your budget with stubs, why is that? I don't make much on stubs as is, but I made enough to get the biggest budgets in the game in franchise, but they randomly got rid of it.

The funny thing about the low AAV is I am cheap as hell so I would applaud those contracts so I have as much money as possible. Other than that, I agree that these players would laugh you out of the building for those contract. No way in hell is Soto making that dough.

The only way you could have done it is at the start of the franchise before you start is to edit their contracts. But in the game, you would never really have to pay for those deferrals unless you play into 2035 and beyond.

Bump CPU timing and contact up 1 and user control down one. That’s what I use and have really good games with it. Some games I will dominate but even then it still feels like a challenge. Through 18 games my team ERA was 4.1.

Now that can be fixed with some slider adjustment.

Just like real baseball, there’s no substitute for reps.

That said, I recommend newbies to the series use "dynamic" difficulty level. That will start you at an easy level and gradually increase as you start to perform better.

The lower levels slow the pitches down, which should help you recognize type and location. They also make the pitchers "paint the corners" less - more of the pitches will either be crushable meatballs down the middle or obvious balls a mile outside.
