The Texas Rangers are 8-16 and are 6 games out of 1st. The first month has been rough. We have recently gone on a 3 game winning streak but besides that it's been a horrible start. Nothing is working. Pitching, offense, and the pen are all terrible. Seagar has been ok but Tucker continues to prove that he is one of the worse fa contracts ever. 215 with 1 hr and 2 rbis. Hopefully this latest run will turn things around for the team

🏝️ W-T-B-A | “Wake Up Tampa Bay”
🎙️ Morning Drive with Mikey & The Mullet
📻 95.5 The Bay – Rays Radio
June 23, 2025 – Monday Morning Show Recap
🎙️ MIKEY:
“Hey hey, good morning Tampa Bay! What a way to head into the off-day, huh? The Rays go into Fenway and drop an 8–1 hammer on the Red Sox in front of 29,000 very sad Boston fans. That’s what I’m talkin’ about!”
🎙️ THE MULLET:
“Finally! We showed some muscle up there in Beantown. Yandy went 4-for-5, Morel was red-hot before the jammed finger, and Taj... TAJ! Another dub, baby!”
🎙️ MIKEY:
“Taj Bradley — let’s just talk about this kid. Since Rick Knapp took over as pitching coach, the dude has a 1.71 ERA over his last three starts. Today? Five innings, four hits, one earned, and he got out of a couple jams like a ten-year vet. That ERA is sittin’ at 3.30 now. This is your ace, folks.”
🎙️ THE MULLET:
“And I got my eyes on that bullpen too, man. Mason Englert — another clean frame. Edwin Uceta — nails. These guys are quietly keeping us in games. Since Knapp took over, our pen ERA is like 2.8 or somethin’ nuts.”
📞 CALLER 1 – “BIG TONY IN ST. PETE”
“Yo, Mullet, Mikey — can we talk about Brandon Lowe? I was ready to trade the guy two weeks ago, but he’s got 10 bombs now and he’s driving in big runs. That 3-run shot in the third? That was a Dagger. I'm back in.”
🎙️ MIKEY:
“Tony, I hear you. Brandon's been on fire in June. Slugging .525 this month. And don’t forget, the Angels already called about him. Could be more teams sniffin’ if we don’t close that Wild Card gap soon.”
📞 CALLER 2 – “LINDA FROM LARGO”
“Hey fellas, I’m worried about Morel. That kid’s been a spark since he got here. I saw him grab that hand real awkward-like sliding back to second. Is this serious?”
🎙️ THE MULLET:
“Linda, good eye. Official word from the team: jammed finger, day-to-day. No break, no ligament tear. Probably just a couple games off — and maybe a splint and a prayer.”
📞 CALLER 3 – “TRAVIS IN TAMPA”
“I’m just gonna say it: Rick Knapp saved this rotation. Taj, Pepiot, Rasmussen — they’re all better since the change. Guys are throwing strikes, mixing pitches, going deeper into games. Fireworks coming when Shane Mac returns.”
🎙️ MIKEY:
“YES. SHANE MACLANAHAN — rehab start coming this week in AA Montgomery. First time back on the mound in nearly a year. If he looks sharp, we could have a front three of Taj, Shane, and Rasmussen by late July.”
🎙️ THE MULLET:
“Imagine that rotation with the bullpen we’ve got now. If the bats stay hot — Yandy hittin’ .294, Brandon back, Morel clicking, and Diaz bein’ Mr. Reliable — this team could sneak back in.”
🔥 HOT TAKES SEGMENT: MULLET’S MELTDOWN
🎙️ THE MULLET (shouting):
“You wanna talk about missed opportunity? If this offense shows up one game earlier in the Marlins series, we sweep! We had eight walks in that 1-0 extra-inning loss. We left Taj’s gem on the table! And don’t get me started on the ump behind the plate Saturday — he couldn’t find the zone with a GPS!”
🎙️ MIKEY:
“Easy, big fella. But you’re not wrong. That series could’ve gone the other way. Still, winning the Red Sox set is momentum. And now — two games with the Mets. No excuses. We need both.”
📝 STATS TO KNOW:- Team Record: 28–40
- Wild Card Race: 9.0 GB
- Yandy Díaz: .294 AVG, 14 HR
- Christopher Morel: .317 AVG, 17 2B, 2.4 WAR
- Brandon Lowe: 10 HR, 4 HR in last 9 games
- Taj Bradley: 6–4, 3.30 ERA
- Team Hits vs BOS Finale: 16 (season high)
🗓️ What’s Next:- Off Day Monday
- @ Mets – 3-game series starts Tuesday
- Probables: Rasmussen (4–5, 4.02 ERA) vs. Tylor Megill (3–6, 5.10 ERA)
“If we’re gonna make a run, it starts in Queens.” – Mikey, on-air sign-off

Ah, what a disappointment. First place going into the All Star break then a complete meltdown for the rest of July and all of August only to play well in September and fall just short.
Well, thats baseball and I look forward to next season if I can get it in.
It was a long shot anyway but had we not lost that first game against Oakland (in extras) we would still be alive. Still...Baltimore would have had to get swept in their final series and we would have had to do the sweeping. Thats not to mention the Tigers and Rays who are still in the hunt for that final wildcard spot.
Yordan is likely going to be the AL MVP and Ronel Blanco is in the running for the AL Cy Young.
Unfortunately, although I dont feel like our pitching was the problem, it obviously was. We finish the year 29th in ERA, 30th in hits allowed, 27th in runs allowed and 30th in homeruns allowed. Meanwhile we were near the top of the league offensively.
I really dont know where to go to improve the pitching I feel like our rotation is good and our bullpen did well enough for me. Framber Valdez and Hunter Brown, our top two arms did have pretty rough seasons but the 3,4 and 5 slots did really well. In fact, Blanco did win the CY Young oh and Alvarez won the MVP.
Kyle Tucker won MVP in the NL and Blake Snell won the CY Young (his second in the last three years).
Im sure there will be some mix up on the team with lots of expiring contracts. We Shou see.
The Braves beat the Twins in the World Series, 4-2.👍 4Comment

June 23-25: GILBERT (42-41) @ LAS VEGAS (30-50)
Stadium: Bally's Ballpark (Capacity: 26,976)
June 23: Silver Kings 6, Barnstormers 5
June 24: Barnstormers 5, Silver Kings 0
June 25: Silver Kings 7, Barnstormers 1
Las Vegas, NV (AP) - Las Vegas continued their recent run of good play as they took two of three from Gilbert and are now (5-1) on their current home stand.
The Silver Kings opened a three game series with a 6-5 victory over the Barnstormers. David Tejeda went 1 for 3 with a home run and he drove in three runs to help the Silver Kings to the win.
Neither team had a baserunner through the first three innings. Gilbert got things going in the fourth. Lamont Brady led off the inning with a single. Isaac Alleman tripled him home to put Gilbert ahead 1-0. Alleman then scored on a sacrifice fly from Rico Estrella to put the visitors up by two.
Las Vegas answered right back. Eric Machado walked and scored on a Danny Watt RBI triple. David Tejeda hit a sacrifice fly to center to score Watt and the game was tied up at 2-2.
The Silver Kings would go ahead in the sixth, scoring four times to take a 6-2 lead. David Tejeda hit a two-run home run, his 12th. Caden Juarez tripled home Junior Maldonado for another run. Juarez then scored on a Julio Chacon sacrifice fly.
The Barnstormers would answer right back themselves, scoring three times in the top of the seventh. Steve Dominguez singled and Cecil Singh doubled to open the innings. Jude Vernon then struck out Douglas Griffith and Craig Miller, and it looked like he might tightrope his way out of the inning. But Luis Delgaudio singled to left, scoring Dominguez. He would reach second on a wild pitch. Lamont Brady then doubled home both runners to cut the Las Vegas lead to 6-5. Martin Villegas came on in relief of Vernon to get Isaac Alleman out to end the inning.
Eric Herman pitched a scoreless eighth, and Kai Ransom worked a 1-2-3 ninth to pick up his seventh save. Jude Vernon (3-1) was very good in this one, but did allow five runs on eight hits in 6.2 innings, striking out four.
Ramon Pineiro (3-9) took the loss for the Barnstormers. He went five innings, allowing four runs on five hits, striking out three and walking one.
On Tuesday evening, Norm Doby (7-5) tossed a gem as Gilbert shutout Las Vegas 5-0. Doby went eight innings, scattering three hits and striking out six as the Barnstormers evened the series.
Gilbert struck early as Craig Miller homered in the second. The solo shot was his sixth on the season and gave Gilvert a 1-0 lead. Lamont Brady hit a three-run shot in the third, his seventh, to make it 4-0. A Luis Delgaudio RBI ground out in the fourth made it 5-0.
Steve Sechrist (1-9) lost his ninth straight decision. He left the game early with an oblique injury that may send him to the injured list. He went 4.2 innings, allowing five runs on five hits, striking out three. John Sato was excellent in relief, pitching 3.1 innings and only allowing one hit, while striking out five.
Vladimir Escalera's 12 game hitting streak came to an end. He went 0 for 3. After the game, the Silver Kings placed Steve Sechrist in the 15-day Injured List and recalled Jeremi Dillon from Triple-A Salt Lake.
On Wednesday afternoon, the Silver Kings used a six-run eighth inning to pull out a 7-1 victory and a series win over the Barnstormers. Julio Chacon came off the bench and hit a bases clearing double to put the Silver Kings in front for good.
Gilbert (42-41) took a 1-0 lead in the second on a Craig Miller RBI double, scoring Steve Dominguez. But that would be all of the offense for the Barnstormers as they would not have another hit for the rest of the game.
Las Vegas tied the game up in the fifth on an Eric Machado sac fly, scoring Gilberto Cardona. Then in the eighth, the Silver Kings loaded the bases with no outs. Julio Chacon pinch hit for Vladimir Escalera and laced a three-run double into the right centerfield gap to put Las Vegas up 4-1. Russell O'Reilly singled home Chacon one out later. Todd Matsumoto walked, and then Stephen Park hit a two-out, two-run double to left to make it 7-1.
Kevin Perez pitched well again, but did not get a decision. He went six innings, allowing one run on four hits, striking out 12 and walking three. Henry Coronado pitched a scoreless seventh. Rob Porter came on in the eighth, but had to leave with an apparent elbow injury after getting one out. Eric Herman (1-1) came on and got the final five outs without allowing a baserunner.
Rahul Elez (2-4) took the loss out of the Gilbert bullpen. He did not record an out, allowing four runs on three hits with a walk. Starter Carlton Russell went 5.0 innings, allowing one run on eight hits.
The Silver Kings (30-50) will have Thursday off before hosting West Texas (36-46) for a three game weekend series to close out the home stand and the month of June.
Around the League: San Antonio put an end to Fort Worth's ten game winning streak on Monday night as they won the opener of a big three game series 4-1 at Huntington Park in downtown San Antonio. A two-run double from Leroy Hunter in the fourth was all that the Javelinas would need to capture the opener. The win pulled San Antonio even with the Drillers at (43-26) atop the ML East.
Santa Fe opened up a big three game series with Albuquerque by blasting the Mariachis 15-0 to pull within a game of the first-place Mariachis. William Choi went 3 for 4 with a home run and four RBIs to help lead the Jays to the series opening victory.
Tahoe's Mark Payton (11-2) tossed a complete game one-hitter, striking out eight, in a 4-0 victory for the Lake Monsters over Phoenix in a battle of first-place clubs. Edgar Rose went 2 for 4 with two doubles and three RBIs for Tahoe. George Brandt (12-4) took the loss for Phoenix, allowing four runs in 5.2 innings on three hits with four strikeouts and four walks.
Albuquerque scored five times in the bottom of the ninth to walk it off in an 8-6 victory over Santa Fe on Wednesday afternoon. Marco Benitez capped off the comeback with a three run home run (4) off of Adam Dennis to move the Mariachis back into the lead in the ML Central, by one game over the Jays.
Julio Chacon's bases clearing three-run triple in Wednesday afternoon's finale helped Las Vegas to the victory.

Texas Rangers Season 4 MOM update
The Texas Rangers are 15-25 and in last place in the American League West. Seagar is having a terrific year as is Kirk. Supprisingly Verdugo is also providing a punch. Lowe has been a dissapointment as well as Tucker. I still can't believe a 93 rated guy with a 40 plus million a year contract just can't hit. He's 189 with 1 hr. The bullpen is horrible. I am at lost as to what to do. It's about time to stop baseball and get ready for Football👍 1Comment

📺 ESPN GAME RECAP | MLB ALTERNATE REALITY FRANCHISE – TAMPA BAY RAYS (2025) By Jayson Stark & Marc Topkin | June 22, 2025
---
⚾ Rays Avoid Sweep at Citi Field in a Power Surge Special
After dropping the first two games of the series against the surging Mets, the Tampa Bay Rays (29–42) closed Father’s Day weekend with a thunderous 11–4 win at Citi Field, snapping the Mets’ five-game win streak and reminding everyone that this underdog squad still has teeth.
---
📊 SUNDAY FINAL: Rays 11, Mets 4
Team 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 R H E
Rays 4 0 3 0 3 1 0 0 0 11 17 0
Mets 2 0 0 1 1 0 0 0 0 4 9 2
---
🔥 GAME HIGHLIGHTS:
Back-to-back-to-back jacks! Yandy Díaz (13), Jonathan Aranda (10), and Brandon Lowe (11) launched three consecutive homers in the top of the first, putting the Rays up 4–0 before an out was recorded. It marked the first time since 2016 the Rays opened a game with three straight homers.
Brandon Lowe, red-hot in June, added a second homer in the third inning, making it 5 in his last 10 games. He finished the game 3-for-5 with 2 RBI and 3 runs scored.
Josh Lowe joined the fun with a homer of his own in the 5th inning (10), and rookie Chandler Simpson added a sac fly and RBI bloop single in a 2-RBI performance before being optioned postgame.
Drew Rasmussen (W, 5–5) earned the win, tossing 4.1 innings and exiting after an RBI single from Pete Alonso. Mason Englert and Garrett Cleavinger combined for 3.2 scoreless to lock down the middle innings.
Jake Mangum and Matt Thaiss continued their steady contributions with two hits apiece. Thaiss now has a 5-game hitting streak, and Mangum made a game-saving track catch in the 5th off the bat of Francisco Álvarez.
---
🚨 INJURY + ROSTER MOVES:
Junior Caminero was placed on the 10-day IL with a sprained knee, suffered sliding into second on Monday. He’s expected to miss 2–3 weeks. Taylor Walls was recalled from Durham and made an appearance late in Sunday’s win.
Chandler Simpson, after 171 PA with a .222/.258/.292 slash line, was optioned back to AAA Durham. His baserunning and defense remain MLB-caliber, but the bat still needs seasoning.
Catcher Kenny Piper, in AA Montgomery, tore his Achilles and is out for the year. The organization has elevated Danny Jansen to full-time backup behind Thaiss, with Rene Pinto likely to get reps as insurance.
Kameron Misner has been cleared from the IL and will return to AAA. If Lowe or Mangum go cold, expect him to get a look.
---
🧮 SERIES IN CONTEXT:
After losing the first two games 3–2 and 6–3, the Rays’ power display in Game 3 salvaged their road trip and gave fans some optimism heading into a key 4-game AL East showdown with the first-place Orioles (now 41–33).
Rays now 3–3 in their last 6, showing signs of stabilization after their worst May in franchise history.
Yandy Díaz is now hitting .298 with 13 HR and 43 RBI, pushing back into All-Star form.
Brandon Lowe now leads the team in HR (11), and is slugging .564 in June.
---
🧠 ESPN ANALYSIS:
Marc Topkin (Tampa Bay Times):
> “For the first time all year, we’re seeing Tampa’s formula clicking — enough offense, strong starting pitching, and a bullpen that isn’t imploding. The question is how they weather the loss of Caminero.”
Jayson Stark:
> “If Shane McClanahan’s rehab goes well and Bradley, Rasmussen, and Pepiot hold the line, this team could become a very annoying spoiler — or sneak back into the race.”
---
🎲 RANDOM DEVELOPMENT ROLL – ⚠️ “UNLOCKED POTENTIAL” EVENT
🎲 Dice Result: 18 — Player makes a breakthrough adjustment in the minors.
🔓 UNEXPECTED RISER: Austin Vernon (AAA)
6’8” righty, former 10th-round pick, had been stalled in Durham’s bullpen with control issues. Over the last 4 outings, he’s struck out 11 in 5 innings without a walk. Pitching coach tweaks his delivery — now sitting 97–98 mph with a sharper slider.
📈 IMPACT:
Vernon’s player rating improves by +3 OVR, and he’s now flagged as a potential bullpen call-up by mid-July. Could be key with Uceta and Sulser showing signs of wear.
---
📅 UPCOMING SCHEDULE – VS ORIOLES:
Game 1: Orioles win 3–2 (Bradley 6 IP, but bullpen loses it late)
Game 2: Rays win 3–2 (Morel returns with 2 doubles, Lowe game-winner)
Game 3: Rays win 10–3 (Thaiss 4-for-4, Diaz 3-run HR)
Next recap will wrap the series finale and break down Rays' push heading into July. Expect Shane McClanahan’s first rehab start stats, prospect watch updates, and more front office whispers.

June 27-29: WEST TEXAS (38-47) @ LAS VEGAS (31-52)
Stadium: Bally's Ballpark (Capacity: 26,976)
June 27: Silver Kings 2, Bison 0
June 28: Bison 8, Silver Kings 6
June 29: Bison 4, Silver Kings 0
Las Vegas, NV (AP) - Las Vegas dropped two of three against the West Texas Bison to close out the home stand at (5-4) to end the month of June.
Las Vegas took the opener of this three game weekend series with a 2-0 victory on Friday night. Emery Hutchinson tossed seven shutout innings, allowing three hits, and striking out eight as he improved to (7-6).
Las Vegas jumped in front in the first inning. Eric Machado opened the game by reaching on an infield single. He stole second, and scored on a David Tejeda RBI single to left.
West Texas had a great chance to score in the third, loading the bases with just one out. But Hutchinson got Willy Maraville looking, and got Luis Montero to ground out to end the inning.
In the seventh, Las Vegas would add a big insurance run as they got back-to-back doubles from Vladimir Escalera and Gilberto Cardona, to go up 2-0.
Hutchinson would turn the ball over to the bullpen in the eighth. John Sato worked a 1-2-3 eighth and Kai Ransom did the same in the ninth to pick up his eighth save, as Las Vegas won for the fifth time in seven games.
Nicky Castillo (5-10) took the loss for West Texas. He went six innings, allowing one run on five hits, striking out four.
The Bison rebounded on Saturday evening as they took an 8-6 decision. Willy Maraville hit two home runs (9,10) and drove in three to lead West Texas to the victory.
West Texas would grab an early 1-0 lead in the top of the first inning on a Luis Montero RBI triple, that scored Brian Gallagher. Darryl Paulson homered in the second to put the Bison up 2-0. It was his third on the season.
Las Vegas got one back in the fourth on a Caden Juarez RBI triple. But two, two-run home runs in the top of the fifth moved West Texas out to a 6-1 lead. Rick Beau and Willy Maraville did the damage. That chased starter Antoine Swanger (5-5) from the game. He only lasted 4.1 innings, allowing six runs on seven hits.
A two-out RBI single from Eric Machado in the bottom of the fifth cut the lead to 6-2. But once again, the Bison answered as Wallace Gregg singled home Michael Beck, who had doubled, to make it 7-2.
A Caden Juarez three-run home run in the bottom of the sixth closed the gap to 7-5. It was his team leading 14th on the year. But the second home run of the game from Willy Maraville in the top of the seventh put West Texas back up by three at 8-5. The Silver Kings would get one back in the eighth on a Gilberto Cardona RBI single, but they would get no closer.
Shelby Dukes (3-3) picked up the win for the Bison, tossing five innings and allowing five runs on eight hits. Julio Varela picked up his 22nd save as he worked a 1-2-3 ninth despite giving up some loud contact,
Caden Juarez went 3 for 4 with a triple, home run and four RBIs for Las Vegas in the loss.
In Sunday afternoon's finale, Dave Jensen tossed a gem, and the West Texas offense gave him the support that he needed in a 4-0 victory in the rubber match of a three game weekend series. Jensen (2-2) tossed eight scoreless innings, scattering three hits and striking out four.
The Bison grabbed the lead in the top of the first after a Brian Gallagher lead off double. He reached third on a wild pitch and scored on a Willy Maraville sacrifice fly. Julian Casto hit a solo home run (12) in the second off of Jude Vernon, to put West Texas up 2-0. Chris Christensen hit a two-out, two-run home run (14) in the sixth to extend the lead to 4-0.
Jude Vernon (3-2) took the loss, but pitched well, allowing four runs on six hits in eight innings of work. He struck out eight and walked one.
Las Vegas (31-52) will now head out on the road to face Fort Worth (45-40) and Salt River (34-51) as the calendar turns to July.
Around the League: Austin's Jim Glass (6-7) tossed a complete game one-hitter, striking out seven in a 4-0 victory for the Fire Frogs over Oakland. Boone Samuel hit a three-run home run (10) to pace the Frogs to the victory.
Colorado Springs' Ronald Dunne improved to (10-4) as he outdueled Billings' Percy Baik (7-4) in a 1-0 win for the Snow Sox over the Mustangs. Dunne went 7.1 scoreless innings, allowing seven hits and striking out seven to pick up the win. A David Vasquez RBI double in the bottom of the seventh was the only run of the ballgame.
Dave Jensen shut down the Silver Kings on Sunday afternoon, tossing eight shutout innings.

Arbitration Hearings Finalized
February 15, 2030
The Mets had just two of arbitration eligible players go to hearings this winter: LHP Howard Sanchez and RHP Michael Whitehead. The arbitrators sided with the Mets in both cases.
Sanchez was looking for $3.5M while the Mets offered him $1.8M. Which seemed more than reasonable to the franchise. Whitehead was looking for almost $5M this season. This was surprising and a bit of a put off for the Mets after Whitehead's injury plagued 2029. The Mets offer of $2.5M was deemed fair.
Mets Add Margot
The Mets added one more depth piece this winter with OF Manny Margot. He will be sent to AAA Syracuse upon arrival, but will be available in case of injury in the outfield. Margot spent last year in Baltimore on a one-year deal where he had a .676 OPS with 12 HR and 50 RBI.
Margot will wear #12.👍 1Comment

Free Agency Recap
February 20, 2030
The Mets have all but finalized their roster with Spring Training right around the corner. It was a productive winter, with the two biggest moves coming in the outfield. Signing RF Elvis Valido to be a middle of the order power bat and then extending CF Nick Craven for the next 10 years are the crowning achievements of the front office. The other moves were for organizational depth. The likes of RHP Lucas Giolito, RHP Aaron Blair, and OF Manny Margot will all be on call in case of injury or poor performance.
Unfortunately, the Mets have said goodbye to several players that were important on the 2029 team, some of which have been with the organization for a number of years. Such is the life of being a professional athlete. The notables being:
RHP Steve Roy - Chicago Cubs
LHP Sean Machado - Baltimore Orioles
RHP Luis Severino - Minnesota Twins
OF Albert Almora - Cleveland Indians
3B Rafael Devers - Houston Astros
The Rafael Devers departure is a painful one. However, it is time. Jackie Maurer looks the part of a future star, and Devers has become a platoon bat that plays poor defense at third. He had a great season in New York, but is really only effective against right-handed pitching.
Devers is one of the most decorated players in franchise history and has been alongside Michael Conforto as a franchise cornerstone since 2018. In 12 full seasons in Flushing, Devers amassed 351 HR and 1,106 RBI while carrying a .910 OPS. He was the NL MVP in 2023 and was a part of 5 World Championship teams.
When he inevitably gets inducted into the Hall of Fame, Devers will be wearing a Mets hat.👍 1Comment

Changes Made To Coaching Staff
February 23, 2030
After their season ended in disappointment, it makes sense that there would be a shake up amongst the coaches. The Mets have hired a new hitting coach, hoping that a fresh face will create more consistency throughout the lineup. The offense really sputtered in the playoffs, and New York is looking for more contact, not just HR swings.
Frank Quiñones, 59, brings a wealth of experience to Flushing. He's spent the last several seasons in the Tampa organization and will now be making his way up north. Several of the Mets big hitters went through prolonged slumps last year including 2B Steven Logan, C Luke Wray, and SS Corey Seager. Quiñones' philosophy is one of contact and discipline which will fit into the organizational desire to lower strikeouts across the board. The Mets have also hired Craig Inoue at Third Base and Diego Self as the Farm Director.
Manager Mark Langford and Pitching Coach Garrett Granger will both be returning. Langford won a World Series in his first season at the helm in 2028 and Granger has led one of the best pitching staffs in baseball over the last couple of years. The Mets are retaining First Base Coach Avery Colon as well.
Manager - Mark Langford
Pitching Coach - Garrett Granger
Hitting Coach - Frank Quiñones
1st Base Coach - Avery Colon
3rd Base Coach - Craig Inoue

Astros take series win to open 2026 against second ranked American League Minnesota Twins.
The Astros struggled on the pitching front in 2025 which led to their first missed post season since 2016. So surely, they would look to shore up that portion of the team in the offseason.
Well, they didnt. Houston lost Framber Valdez in free agency (to the Orioles). To be fair Houston did offer Framber a contract in the exclusive phase of free agency. Framber however rejected that offer and elected to test the market. That resulted in a thee year contract from the O's valued at 29.3 per year.
Houston then decided to go after a former player, Kyle Tucker to shore up their outfield and to give them another big left handed bat in the lineup. Eventually Tucker would agree to come back to Houston for the next eight years with a yearly salary of 36.6 million. Sure, that could hurt Houston in the long run but for now, they are excited to have him back in Houston.
The only other
'big' FA addition for the Stros was Jose Leclerc the former Ranger who was on the Athletics in 2025.
So how did the Astros favor in their first season of 2026?. Well, they won it, 2-1 against the #1 ranked team in the AL, the Minnesota Twins.
The first game was a rather uninspired first start for Ronel Blanco, the Astros new 'Ace'. He allowed 10 hits and 8 runs in just 5 innings he did however start off with a solid SO number of 7. Houston went on to lose their opening game of 2026, 8-3.
They then went on to take games two and three, 5-2 and 4-3 behind solid starts by Spencer Arrighetti and Hunter Brown.
In his return, Tucker went 4-12 in the series but hit the ball well in almost every at-bat.
Houston will now stay on the road as they head to Pittsburgh to face the 0-3 Pirates.Last edited by Itsma806; 07-13-2025, 12:20 AM.👍 4Comment

What are the most impressive moves you saw in the first offseason? Any suprising big splashes?👍 1 -
To be fair, I dont remember many of the big signings I kind of just let it playout in the background aside from the players I go for.
One surprising move was the Rangers trading away Wyatt Langford to the Twins in exchange for SP David Festa (B POT 80 OVR 25 YO) and Emmanuel Rodriguez CF (B POT 70 OVR 23 YO).👍 1
