I absolutely love when she calls the batters up. It sounds so real and has life to it.

Just noticed the wind direction changed in the middle of my game. At the top of the first it was blowing 12mph out to dead-center. At the top of the 5th it was blowing 12 mph to left . Very cool!

Uhh.. I believe we already decided that with you when you got to play the game earlier on Pacific coast time.

I haven't given either of the two new PA announcers much listen yet. I like Miniak well enough, I'm sticking with Alex because consider Miniak THE Show announcer, first string. I used to feel the same with Carlucci and I missed him deeply those first couple years.

I think they fixed the HR counter in Pittsburgh. In franchise, it is showing zero and I am playing against them in home opener. I don't think I've seen zero before.

Edit: Unfortunately, I gave up HR to Pitt. But can confirm that the HR counter IS WORKING! Yay!

Re: MLB The Show 25 Little Things

I've never posted anything like this for either of the 2 games I obsessively play--EA PGA Tour golf and The Show. But I just played the most incredible game in over 5 years of playing hundreds of Show games.

Reds are my team, playing the Giants in SF. I'm pitching every pitch with Nick Martinez, and got to 1 out in the bottom of the ninth with a *perfect game*. I've never come anywhere close to a no hitter through 6 innings, let alone 2 outs away from a perfect game.

The commentary was awesome for this moment..."let's see if we're about to see history here" etc. I was on the edge of my seat.

Of course, as it happens 99% of the time, Giants get a single. I finally replace Martinez, next batter doubles in the run to tie the game 1-1.

3 more extra innings where I take the lead back, Giants tie it to force the next inning, and sadly walk it off in the bottom of the 12th, 4-3.

Wow, that was fun, even with the loss. The presentation and commentary were riveting.

I just hit a game-tying homer in Milwaukee, only to see Bernie Brewer going down the slide. Has this ever been in the game before?

I like how they show the local tv network on the LED billboards inside the stadium.

Also in standings for the wildcard, they show a + for the top team in wildcard as well as the 2nd place team to show how far ahead they are of the team immediately behind them.

                      Ex:

                      Giants +2
                      Dodgers +1
                      Cubs -
                      Mets - 1.0

I played a game in Sportman's Park because my created stadium isn't available. I never attended a game there but I used to work in that area and I found some interesting details in that park.

Brief history. The church the video and in the google maps image is St Augustine's Roman Catholic Church. It's cool that the developers included that now empty and vandalized church in the game. Another interesting tidbit about Sportsman's Park - the first ever sports bar was at the intersection of Spring and Sullivan outside the left field. Ballplayers used to go there prior to the game to get sunflower seeds and chewing tobacco because they had to pay more in the clubhouse than at the bar. It's still a bar in operation but I suspect it has a different vibe. If you hit a home run to left field and put the cursor on the baseball in replay you can see the red building where the bar is/was. Across Grand on the right outfield side of the ballpark was a car dealership and Babe Ruth once hit a home run through the window of the car dealership. Across the street behind the first base side was the Carter Carburetor factory. Now torn down and a vacant lot but at the time the park was in operation it was a major employer in that area. Building across the street in center field used to be the YMCA. Building is still there but I'm not sure today what it is used for.

I'm not sure whether the developers who recreated these old ballparks still work for SDS but a big thank you to them for doing this. Attention to detail is excellent.

This might not be new to 25, but it's new for me: Playing at Progressive Field and the fans chant "Jose...Jose Jose Jose" everytime Jose Ramirez bats. They also have the Mario sound whenever Cleveland scores a run. I feel like they had a sound before but it wasn't the EXACT sound played at the stadium. It just makes it feel so much more like a real game.
