Captain's Store Weekly Level 30 reboot:

Donaldson = Pence @ 1,100 (Again)
deGrom = Betances @ 2,300 (Diamond 1 of 2)
Altuve = Corbin @ 440 (WHY?!?)
Rizzo = Rizzo @ 2,300 (Diamond 2 of 2)
Hosmer = Darvish @ 1,100 (2 out of past 3 weeks)
Ortiz = Nelzon Cruz @ 950


So, we finally got 2 Diamonds that were definitely on purpose (Thor switched right as he went up, so maybe that was an accident. Can't remember if Rizzo switched right before or right after last time he was up). Interesting. I'd like to go ahead and get Betances, but I'm fine with my pen, and I'd rather save for possible future Diamonds. No real interest in Rizzo after finally getting Flashback Prince.

I thought everybody had him already.

Since the week he went into the store, probably 20% to 30% of my online games have had at least one Syndergaard pitching.

I'd like to go ahead and get Betances, but I'm fine with my pen, and I'd rather save for possible future Diamonds.

Betances is an amazing right-handed reliever. But there are so many good righties out there who are much cheaper that I can't recommend spending 2,300 tickets for Betances. I'll pass at that price since I already have Herrera, Capps, Holland, Benoit, Clippard, Axford, Ramos, et al. doing so well for me.

I feel like most people out here in these Online Head to Head streets are starving for starting pitchers, yet Sony keeps feeding us relievers as the best players in these captain store updates.

No real interest in Rizzo after finally getting Flashback Prince.

Good first basemen are just as easy to find as good relievers. Rizzo's another guy who's not worth his price in tickets IMO.

I am sitting on 3000 tickets and am waiting like most people for a diamond starting pitcher to be put up. I wonder when they will put flashbacks in the Captain store.

IMO, he's only worth it if you really want him, or wish to complete the Cubs and need him. Even then, the 20k or so stubs he's going for is still a better alternative than wasting 2,300 tickets on him. And like jyoung said above, 1B is such a deep position. I feel like with FB Prince and Hosmer, i have no need for anyone else at that position. There's just so many worthy alternatives, that putting 2,300 towards Rizzo seems counterproductive IMO.

Yeah I agree. 1B has got to be one of the deepest positions. You could go even cheaper with guys like Chris Davis and Encarnacion and still be competitive at first.

Starting pitchers are what I'm waiting for.

DeGrom has to show up in the DeGrom store eventually.

And Strasburg will probably be brought back sometime given how often these cards are repeating.

Rizzo is only good hitting against righties. His ratings against lefties aren't good.

Was wondering yesterday, I feel like perhaps around all-star break they'll have level 42 rewards and maybe that's where dudes like Donaldson/Altuve/DeGrom can be got in the store.

Or maybe they'll just be level 30 rewards.

So the captain levels cap at 42 right? I just wanted to make sure since I got to 42 with altuve but the circle kept going around and is partially filled.

I'm a little confused as to how they give out tickets. I just played a 9 innings game with Altuve as my captain and all 9 players fit "I <3 the 90s."

Before the game I had: 2083
and I was at 47/100 completion (4 times completed)
After I had: 2119, 18/100 (5 times completed* noting this because of the 25 ticket reward)

I was expecting to have much more tickets gained from the game using all 9 players for that captain like how it works for innings if you stack a roster full of players from the same team. How exactly does it work? Thanks for the help.

Stacking your roster with the appropriate crew only counts towards the Captain's Mission. It doesn't give you any additional bonus ticket rewards for the game you played. The game you played would have given you 13 tickets no matter who was on your team; stacking with Altuve's crew increases how quickly you will complete his mission and how often you will get the 25-ticket bonus. (Is my understanding. I'm happy to be corrected!)
