Re: What are you working on thread

So today was the day I planned on trading this hitting disgrace of an MLB game in. Because I want to love this game and I’m also a glutton for punishment I decided to insert the disc one more time and play another RS game.

I get matched with a guy who had an ok team but he’s only bronze level 38. He’s laying pitches right over the plate that resemble CPU rookie level sliders and sinkers but I’m grounding out anyway on my good timed perfect swings. I do take two balls to the wall but of course they are caught with back to the wall.

Game is moving along and this guy is swinging at everything. I’m throwing way high, inside, outside, and in the dirt....whiff after whiff....until the 8th inning. 2 out and an 0-2 count....foul ball after foul ball. No matter how far off the plate was he made contact until I walked him. 16 pitch at bat. Next batter...8 foul balls until a pitch way in the dirt is blasted over the wall.....lost 2-0. By the way the minute Mr Whiff started fouling every single pitch off I already knew where the game was headed.

It headed to GameStop. SDS has lost a customer until they prove they care more about making a quality MLB gane again instead of caring about micro transactions

Officially reached my "don't care" moments last night. Like for real.

Quit out of 2 games in the first 3 innings when I fell behind, not because I don't believe in my ability to come behind, but I literally ran out of ****s to give.

When Thursday comes out it is 2k time. When the Friday after rolls around NHL is coming in. Ain't got no more time for this.

Still going to do that mega opening when they give you double the packs for the same price. The most fitting way to end the year.

Yes, I believe that those games are ones that others are playing against your team in Extra Innings mode.

Can anyone confirm this? A friend of mine said he noticed when hitting a routine grounder to SS in online play that it didn’t matter if the runner had 99 speed or 22....every throw just barely beats the runner. He claims in vs the CPU mode the speed difference is noticeable.
I traded my copy in a couple of days ago so I can’t test myself.

I also deleted the game. Somehow it wasn't the broken hitting or content being extremely boring at this point that pushed me over the edge. It was opening 350 packs and getting 9 golds and 0 diamonds out of that 350. **** this game.

I want to say it's been a fun year, it was kind of fun at times, but the folks on this board made all the bull**** more bearable. You guys are great. See yall next year!

(PS I Still have 800k in stubs if I sell Trout in Kershaw, at 386 right now. Gonna reinstall when the mass pack sale is happening lol)

It's been good run, brother. Thanks for making the board more fun! I also have you to thank, at least a little bit, for my pack addiction haha. I think this may be my last month of playing, since I'll eventually get 2K, God of War and Red Dead Redemption 2. There's only so much gaming time in a day when real life hits! I'll definitely be back next year as well. Gameplay issues aside, I love DD.

Not sure what you play in 2k but if you run park/pro-AM, hit me up. I run with a bunch of people already but always looking for more to run with!

I appreciate the invite. I did MyTeam two years ago and got really into it, but I got burned out and skipped it last year. I've never done park or pro-AM. I think I may just do offline franchises this year if the gameplay is strong enough. MyTeam was a bit too stressful for my taste, and having to buy VC to pull an actual amount of packs turned me off of the whole experience. If I do decide to dabble, I'll hit you up!

Well yeah but thats because they take their time throwing the ball if its a slow runner, like in real life. Kind of a non issue for the most part.

Makes sense. Thanks. Yes it was a lot more fun thanks to all you guys....it’s a shame SDS bailed and never patched the gameplay or we all might have squeezed another couple weeks out if it. See you next season!!!!

I decided it might be fun to try to work on the collection missions...I'd specifically like to get the 93 OVR Jake Arrieta at the 85% complete point of the live collection mission.

I started to work on some of the lower cost players to build up my collection. However, I am now realizing how dead this game is (at least in the community market, anyway). I have some buy and sell orders that have just been sitting there, not even being challenged by anyone trying to undercut me by 1 stub or anything like that, for well over 12 hours.

I guess with other games coming out, school starting, etc., there's just very little action anymore.

The market is pretty dead for much of the day. I generally open some packs in the morning and then try to sell everything back that I don't need. Even selling off the contents of a 10 pack takes waaaaaaaay longer than it used to. It's starting to be more trouble than it's worth.

Gotta admit...I was so terribly bored yesterday, I reinstalled the game, LOL. But I'm only playing RTTS until 2k comes out.

The last few days just made me realize how much I rely on sports gaming. Sheesh.

Anyways, good chance another pack suicide takes place tomorrow if the content drop isn't trash.

Which means see you guys in October for the Ted Williams release!

LOFTON TIME! Ruth is going to the bench, and I've got a new leadoff man. Can't wait to use a (hopefully viable) version of my favorite player!

I'm also going to lock in the Cubs collection for Sutter because I keep reading about how nasty he is. He'll replace Lee Smith so I'll have no weak links in the bullpen. Not sure what I'm gonna do with the rest of these stubs as my MLB 18 run winds down. Any suggestions, ph33?

Still trying for the Ripken 2/2/2/2 mission and the Ruth (pitcher) needing 3 hits and 1 homer mission.
