I'm guessing it's probably common knowledge by now, but I just got the 97 WBC CP Ohtani card today, and learned that you can use him as a pitcher and a hitter if you sub him into your DH spot AFTER he pitches an inning.

But if he takes an at-bat at DH before he's been subbed in as the pitcher, he'll get removed from your list of available bullpen arms.

Does anyone else play ranked with directional hitting? Is it possible to even be competitive and score more than 2-3 runs per game? I've been doing co-op a bit and if I get a hit it feels like a miracle. I am not trying to get to the top of the leaderboards, I'd be happy with a record around .500.

I really dislike zone hitting as my plate discipline goes out the window when I switch to zone. I can use it, but I'd rather not.
In my early days I made it to Divisional using analog. Directional online is just very difficult especially because of latency.

It can be done to a degree but it really comes down to the enjoyment factor. There is definitely a subsection of players who are exceptionally skilled at directional that can compete online. If you're just looking to have fun and don't care about record, keep playing online with directional. Once you get adjusted to the online pitch speeds and pace, you might be fine.

I feel like I'm missing something.

I've played two vs CPU games on Legend and didn't get a post-game reward. Is that not a thing anymore? They still have the odds listed when you select the difficulty.

Or do we only get a reward if we roll the listed reward? Like will I only see a reward if I roll a diamond?

Earlier this week I won a 9-inning “VS CPU” game against the Nationals and had no bonus reward card appear on my screen during the postgame summary so I don’t know if it’s just a display issue or an actual not getting the reward issue.

Which MLB team do y’all think is the easiest to beat on the Legend setting?

I'd say Orioles or Nationals. Adley can hurt you and Mateo is prone to bunt and fly around the bases, but their pitchers absolutely suck.

Tip for anyone playing the Lefty Loosey Mini-Seasons:

You can use bronze and below right handers or switch hitters. Andrew Vaughn and Robbie Grossman are supercharged right now and super useful in the lefty only format.

I'll definitely have Sosa by the end of the day, this is the earliest I've ever got a collection reward. The worst part is putting all the buy orders in.

I'm almost at my 2nd boss pack (will sell for about 55k plus tax) and was able to keep my wbc trout and all the br henchman rewards

About 20 games into a mini seasons runs and will prob use the vouchers for Soto (already have Joc) and then prob need to stay on the west so I can get may bc I don't have much for pitching.

Once I finish the ms then I'll finally get to the negro league section and upgrade my staff and catcher.

Even tho I've sold most everything off my team is looking pretty good with the nl live series stuff and the team affinity I have (Mullins, devers, ward, mcneil, Joc, Pena)... Pitching is a bit rough tho if I were to go in ranked

Also for those wondering about Sosa. I had built up close to 800k stubs from selling pretty much everything. I'm at 62k now but I've already bought all the diamonds it's just going in and finishing up the cheaper cards now. So if you're in the 700-800 range that's prob about what you need for the nl side

I'm at around 330k stubs right now. I need the big 3 diamonds for the Mets to finish the East. I haven't pulled anything major yet so my progress has been hampered. I've grabbed up most of the lower value cards for teams except the Reds that are still on the high side.

I just can't justify the cost on Diaz right now even though it's probably not going to change. I think there's an outside chance Scherzer drops below 90 with the first update so we'll see if I pull the trigger before then or not.

Arozarena is very similar attribute wise to the collection Aaron. Obviously would want to use Aaron as a Braves fan but they're pretty similar, although Hank has quirks. Sammy, Acuna and Aaron would be a fun outfield this early in the season.

Got lucky and pulled a second Ohtani WBC SP....sold it and got Judge...

On another note.....love the 68 steal success on Trea Turner....somebody made a mistake there.....

I’ve finished up all the conquests and all of the showdowns, and each division has a handful of missions left, but surprised how much of team affinity there is left. Over half for all divisions except the AL East, since I’ve been playing with a Yankees heavy lineup.

I think I’ll tackle mini seasons next, and maybe start the ranked program and chase Gehrig. Not sure whether I’m going to take my Yankees squad into ranked, or put together another squad. After picking Rickey debating on using a speedy team, maybe fast runners combined with some finesse pitchers.

I haven’t really had a great plan with collections, but have made good progress with 6 AL and 3 NL teams left. I haven’t been selling anything but live series and don’t think I’m going to at this point, and just keep going at my own pace.

Scored 99 Ohtani from a Chase pack I got from a 20 pack bundle...pretty nice reward for a total impulse buy. I sold it and used the stubs to finance live Ohtani, which enabled me to complete the Angels after unpacking Trout from Nation of Baseball reward pack.

Otherwise, chipping away at TA and targeting the low-hanging live collections (anything where I just need to buy silvers or lower off the market). I should get into Mini Seasons and do Storylines, too. I keep wanting to set aside time to really enjoy the latter but never quite get there.

Also, definitely getting to the point where I need to start making lists to keep all the different missions straight!

Hold RB (or R1 if Playstation), toggle with the left stick to the bottom right option on the wheel and keep the left stick held. Then use the right stick to cycle through. Then hit A/X on field and the options will be in there.

Decided to bite the bullet and bought the 3 Mets diamonds. I'll puke if they do move Diaz to the free agent pool anytime soon but there's going to be something value wise that hits the fan so might as well get it out of the way.

Also finished the Rockies, Giants and Reds. That leaves Arenado, Goldschmidt and Mookie as the only diamonds I need to complete the NL. Once I have that done, I'm moving my attention towards the Set 1 collection and will start trying to get some value buys there as well as grinding where I can.

I've only played Mini Seasons the last couple days to take advantage of the supercharged players. I'm most of the way through the regular season and 2 2 wins away from the 3rd booster pack. Not sure how many wins I'll go to before quitting out but getting closer. Won't have the run finished before the supercharges go away so will have to readjust the roster. Hoping Olson gets supercharged after his 2 HR game but have been enjoying having Vaughn/Grossman to break up the lefties.
