Re: What Are You Working On? - MLB The Show 23 Edition

I just did a game with all father's day guys on Veteran and put up like 50 runs. I knocked out the 60 hits, 40 xbh, 20 hr, 10 sb and I'm still only at 3968 pxp of 5000 with father's day program players. I've also been using these guys in games with may program players so it's not like I just used them for a single game.

I'm gonna have to go in AGAIN and kind've just spam hrs to finish program.

On another note, the market seems to have spiked on some guys. I bought Nolan ryan for 175k and I can sell him for 315k now but most of my SP I like are set 1 anyway so Idk if that's a bad idea. I could pickup Cole but he's always pretty bad, right?

I was really good with skubal last year, has anyone liked his new card? Maybe I'll try him out even tho 60k seems a bit much for him

Re: What Are You Working On? - MLB The Show 23 Edition

Glad I'm not the only one waning a bit. BEYOND ready for season 3.

With the market drop and some selling off, I can pick up Mauer. But I want no part of any of the Ranked awards, and I feel the same about BR. The only reason I might play is to grab the unsellable Dibble and all those Core cards. And back to Ranked, if I continue to avoid it, cards like Mauer and the Crawford SS card I should have sold continue to have less value for me unless they're event eligible.

But once Affinity 2 took its toll, Season 2 has lagged for me. Maybe I can get my third card (Hank), but I'm not great righty on righty. That's also why I'll probably enjoy playing the new event, and kudos to them for making Wood a rewind pack (even if it's at 40).

I find it interesting that all these years, SDS got blasted for gameplay with amazing content.

Now it feels like a polar switch and gameplay is the bright spot. The repeated program structure with all online rewards and program rewards falling short of pack cards was a sudden switch.

Another long grind of a program for set fodder. There needs to be 99 rewards at this point. It makes the new set system really bad. Last year when the future star program came out it was fun because those cards were competitive and at or near the top of the power creep. I loved using that Jasson Dominguez card last year but I don’t think he’ll get much use for me now.

Exactly, I think I may be fine with just getting the 2nd collection pack and eating the 3rd so I can just play br and events and do what I want

It's like you're playing just to get your second or third collection card - Wright or Aaron for most. It makes the daily grind less fun, and less daily if you're me.

I got to 40 wins in the event and got the non-sellable Kerry Wood. I completed the FS program along the way. After i completed the program, I used the tier 3 McGwire captain boost for my lineup, I was killing the ball with that new Carlson card. I’m now 3 cards away from my 3rd set 2 collection, I could buy a few of the cheaper new Kaiju to complete it, but I think I’ll just wait until the next Topps Now cards come out next week.

Hadn't played since Friday morning and I get so behind so quick!

Just did br and about 50 points in. Will get soriano to replace my trea turner. Can take 2nd set 2 choice pack at any time and will take Wright

Afraid I miss the switch it up event but if I can get br done will atleast get and get the rewind pack.

No urgency to do Topps now or future stars thing as I can do those once set 3 starts I guess if I want to try to earn hank. Haven't looked at future stars cards but assume none of them prob make the god squad.

Mauer had a dip in price so I did buy him for 260k today, will take place of posada.... I think that's a good price. Was 300k on Friday.

Good call on Mauer, that's tempting.

I feel like the Flash Sales haven't taken prices down as much as they did last year. Normally, I'd wait a Friday but it's not 1:1 - just look at how cards like Mantle and Nolan Ryan have soared up.

I had a nice little profit on ryan and it's cool cause I don't feel confident pitching with him anyway

Keeping the mantle tho regardless of how high it goes

They didn't have a flash sale recently, did they?

                        I just remember the one

I recall two total. Last one maybe 2 weeks ago, give or take.

Finished the Father's Day program and the latest Topps Now. Currently focused on the Future Stars Program, heading towards finishing the Conquest map up in the next day or two. I'm enjoying playing with these young players, though. It's just depressing that my Red Sox don't merit a single card in the program. Got the 2nd Set 2 collection pack, and added Hank to Randy.

I really hate how deep they bury the captain cards in the recent programs. Since I'm just grinding to get cards for collections (AKA being a completionist for offline content), those cards are utterly worthless to me by the time I get to them. The earlier programs gave the captains earlier, which meant getting to gradually ramp up their boosts as I worked on the program, which I enjoyed much more. Future Stars and Father's Day are both annoying in this regard.

Gradually buying up Set 1, Set 2, and Core cards that were in Events or BR that I'll never get to otherwise. Meanwhile, I got lucky with a pack pull about a week ago and got the younger Holliday 99 card from the Father's Day program. On the same day, my first wheel spin on the S2 XP path got me a boss pack, so now I'm up to 4/5 of those cards. I shall now only get 7500 stubs per spin for a while, I'm sure.

Started playing Vs CPU in Shield Woods park at home instead of the Rockies at Coors on the Road to grind PXP. The short fences and shallower OF gaps make it worth it, IMO, despite losing the half inning of at-bats.

Looking at the schedule, it wouldn't surprise me if we get a flash sale this Friday.

Weekend before a holiday, double xp weekend, roster update, new moonshot event and Topps now. It's pretty light as far as content goes... Which I'm happy about bc I can catch up a bit.

Its just weird bc these flash sales in past years I feel they would really help with collections cause I could scoop up all these dips and really boost my stub count or just get things cheap. Now I don't really want to dive all my stubs in not knowing whether I'll get enough cards to get the 3rd set 2 collection pack. So I've got mantle and Mauer and Stan and a few others instead of scooping up headliners, ws henchmen, program bosses etc
