Seems everything is very laggy in this event. Shouldn't be early Monday morning I wouldn't think but every game seems to have alot of input lag

Verlander has been pretty good in events. Still trying to feel him out and I keep leaving him in a batter too long or hanging a slider to people that can’t hit outliers, but I think I like him. Trying to get pxp for a couple different programs playing the event because I haven’t felt like playing offline. I keep putting McGwire in at 1B because I have him but that swing feels terrible.

Might try some mini season next. Haven’t touched them yet so I got a lot I could do. Gold one sounds fun but I probably should chip away at the lefty one.

Big Mac worst card in game, give him up

Did you buy Verlander or beat br already? I'll get started on br soon

I'm thinking of buying musial, or ryan.

I also surprisingly already got to goose

LOL, for sure. But I mean, I used him just a wee bit myself...yeah, there's something weird with his 99 OVR card. He's not really a player I wanted to use anyways, so I gave up very quickly. I'm a little curious if his lower-end cards (where he's labeled as a power hitter in-game vs balanced) would play any better.

I think he has 3 cards and the first one seemed fine, the collection is the worst card in the game and I havent used the captain one yet I don't think.

I'm pretty sure that first card and collection card are different swings... I could be wrong tho

Didnt they give pujols different swings with his younger vs older cards?

Like I said collection card he plants his foot down like 10 years before his hands start to come through. Most cards if you replay their swing on a PP or good contact the foot hits down and the motion of the hands is very fluid and smooth as a good swing is in real life.... The timing of collection mcgwire hands is such a weird delay

I feel like a milestone McGwire would be way better than the collection one anyway. That probably wouldn't come until later in the year because it'd be kind of lame if they did a huge 99 of a core collection card that's better before the end of the year but I think the milestone version would have a better swing.

I haven't tried this Big Mac yet but he is so universally despised. Is he the least popular collection card ever?

I HATED pudge back in 2019. His swing sucked and he couldn't block anything to save his life

Beat the BR program. I usually finish it first week when it resets because it’s my favorite game mode. I think I’m actually going to try to complete finish the program for all the packs since I still have BR cards that I can pxp.

I think I’m hitting right about.200 with the McGuire card and it’s all been in events and maybe a BR run. I feel like the only hits I’ve gotten have been home runs. His swing feels very off and even when I connect on one it doesn’t feel good. It’ll be a just early/late home run that I thought was going to die at the warning track.

Just pulled the new Harper. Had no idea what pack he’s in or where it came from. I think it was a Diamond Duos choice pack. Probably going to sell it for live series. I know I should just use cards I want to and have fun, but I really want to complete live series so then it’ll feel like I’m free to waste stubs on cards or even dumb packs. I just remember how freeing it felt last year to have live series done. I don’t know, might mess with him in events for a while before I sell him.

I just confirmed in-game in the main menu rosters. The 1987 McGwire (i.e. the collection reward) does indeed use a different stance than the older McGwire. So it is indeed possible that other cards are (and will be) more usable than this collection version.

I thought so. I really liked the roty pujols last year and he was my first p5 of the year and then that super stacked milestone card I couldn't get it going with

I doubt they mess with adleys swings but I usually do good with his lower attribute cards and then can't do anything with his 99s

The problem with Adley is not his swing changing; it's that he's more of a line-drive push hitter vs an uppercut pull guy. I think people use his lower rated cards a bit more carefully and with his swing type with those lower power ratings, he can find the gaps and be a doubles machine. You get his "juiced" card; people expect that it will suddenly make him a HR hitter and they try to pull the ball. It won't...he's still a line-drive push hitter.

(this is the same reason many people don't love Pudge in this game...)

i was the same way last year with Pujols i loved his ROTY card but the older swing i couldnt figure out at all and as a Cards fan it sucked .

I am using the Captain McGwire grinding for the TA2 stuff and i love that they gave him the right HR animation when its a no doubter. his swing is different for sure and this one is a little long but once you get the timing the balls flys and im assuming his juiced card later in the year will be dangerous.

Brandon Lowe’s Kaiju card is soo good. I’ve turned on so many high and inside fastballs. Also good at fouling stuff off until they make a mistake. Really loving that card. I think he’ll have 2B locked down for a while. Moved Brian Roberts to SS. Roberts was my favorite card last year and still doing pretty good with him this year. Finally starting to put together a decent Set 2 lineup.

Working on the charisma program. Decided to do the showdown and flew thru the first 4. Once I got to Bob Gibson, I couldn't do anything anymore. His pitching motion and 103 mph fastball got me good.

I might just grind the Charisma players PXP instead that's repeatable for 10 xp.
